I actually cant remember why I stopped playing this game. I think it was because I prefer Harem games and I remember having to choose between some girl or the cafe girl I dont really remember it that well. Will check it out again.

Not a harem game means it goes way way down on my list of potential plays.
I just don't bother with non harem or at least end up with most LI's in one playthrough as I don't do multiple playthroughs personally.
I also don't mind single LI games or double LI's if you can end as a throuple.

Pretty much it since you made minigames skippable and the fetishes are currently fine for me.

I'm more curious about the motivations behind just saying "Yea I won't even waste time trying it at all". Like what motivates someone to make that decision about a game? That's what I'm really curious about.
Well, I have played other games where you have to make a choice between different character, and I dislike that. So when I heard that it was that way for your game, I decided not to play it.

Aside from that, I don't personally find the banner of the game appealing. I couldn't tell you why it is so, I just wouldn't be inclined to click on it (Call it a matter of personal taste).

Heh, my reason to not play your game is the reflection of the reason you won't play mine: I'm looking for a gay focused game, or at least one with enough gay content. But that's something on me, not you, I'm not your audience.

Looking at your tags and screenshots, looks pretty vanilla, and the models look good you should have a very big audience to target. Maybe it's the same problem that my game has: our games are not harem games. I'm not into the harem fantasy at all, so I skipped that gold seller kink (along with incest)

You don't have the tags that usually interest me, so without a good description or impressive screenshots I'm not going to bother trying it. Your description is super generic. I haven't played your game (haven't actually noticed it before now) so I can't offer an alternative. All I can say is that you're trying way too hard to be mysterious. And the renders in your screenshots and banner are mediocre. They're not ugly but they also aren't anywhere near good enough to wow me.

With the amount of games that are released every day, the competition for our attention is pretty tight, often each game has less than a minute to hook the player and it all comes to what we can see at a glance.
Most people don't even read the description or comments. The smart move would be showcasing the strongest visual aspect of the game front and center, be it the interesting art style or the gameplay video.

For me here my thought process is such, in this order:
  1. Whats newly completed/finished.
  2. What have I played thats been updated.
  3. Scan first page to see if anything visually stands out (for me 2D and anime style stuff).
    1. Check for games with tags I like (furry, incest, corruption)
    2. Check tags for real porn, 3d game(crappy pc cant run'm), kinetic novel, no sexual content, gay or lesbian without the vaginal sex tag.
      1. ignore'm
  4. Scan remaining newly updated/released games
    1. same as step 3's steps +.
    2. check the preview thumbnails for interesting visuals and/or mechanics/gameplay
    3. check version number, if somethin like 0.0.1 most likely ignore unless really appealing
  5. Scan games for interesting tag combos
  6. Scan remaining games
  7. Proceed to second page until time I last visited
  8. For games ive opened a new tab for
    1. scroll down to thumbnails and give a once over
    2. check changelog
    3. scroll to description and read (unless already familiar)
    4. scroll to rating and see number of people who have rated it at what it currently is rated at.
      1. if low rating check latest comments
      2. check reviews and when and for which version they were posted
    5. If deemed try/playable scroll to download and move onto next game tab (unless if its really compelling)
      1. check the file size (if to big also move onto next opened game tag)
    6. After completing this process for all games start downloading most compelling games first to last.
I hope this helps.

seem to be much more ok with the concept of "This just isn't for everyone",
More than Ok... I would say we're realistic. When you do a gay/lesbian or even a trans/futa focused game, you cut the audience by 9/10. Hell, I saw HTML games that doesn't even have 10 minutes of content, or almost unplayable, get the double of patreons on the very same week they launch, whereas my game offers at least one hour (more if you replay certain routes) of content, but of course, it is a game that targets a minority, with a LOT of niche kinks inside. For example, focusing on bara dudes instead of twink/femboys hurt the popularity of my game, and I know it. But I can't produce smut content for that. Also, BDSM is a kink that scares a lot of people and I'm very into it. So my game is a niche INSIDE a niche. I'm lucky to have patreons :ROFLMAO: .

I'm surprised your game doesn't have more traction, I know that competition is fierce, you can look at it here on F95. Maybe if you do little changes, like changing your banner, or having a video of gameplay it could help.

1st thing that makes me click on a game is the visuals Good or Bad. If the visuals are like not good but neither unplayable then the tags, it'll need to have interesting tags. Also if the rating of the game is really low (like 1 or 2 stars) I might not click.
The thing is I'm kinda bored of classic vanilla stories so if the visuals are not great most probably I'll skip it.
Another thing is : the girls, visuals might be super great if I don't like the girls I'm out, so this is purely personal.

One very important thing to know is image comp, you can have average visuals but if you manage well your scene to hide imperfections, to match colors, to master shadows and to create dynamism then you might get my interest because your images will look nice. In addition to that, and to do it well, the lighting is very important.

About your game (IMO) :
The banner is bad (color doesn't work, lighting is boring and comp is bad.) try looking for a nice pic you like understand why you like it and maybe it'll help you for this kind of things.
This tool might help you ? (as well you might find interesting things on internet about comp and making nice pictures (not about 3D but in general).
Your banner is what players first see don't hesitate to make it better than your game (use photoshop to perfect it or whatever).
Imo you should try avoiding complexe scene (like with grass, sand ect) wich are hard to make it look nice without knowledge or money.
Didn't play it (never saw before) but for what I see I looks like amateur (yeah i know) visuals aren't "wow" (for technical part, and artisitically (comp, lights blablabla)) story looks kinda basic. So from that I assume that the writting and chara dev etc are quite amateur aswell.
And for this kind of "amateurish" games what makes me want to play it are: fetishes (and how well they are treated but to acknowledge that I have to dl it so you won). Yours seems quite vanilla.

Of course no offense at all I know how hard and long it is to learn all of that and to create pics and render them, the fact that you're v.04 already impress me because holly shit it's so long and sometimes boring to manage all these scenes, render them, write text, dev etc...

Because I just found out it existed. Like KiaAzad said there's tons of new games added here seemingly every day, so lots of them are going to get lost in the pile. Though looking at the tags I don't see harem (which means no forced harem, yay) nor incest listed so that makes me happy. No Engrish in the overview either.
My one complaint would be that things like the backgrounds and character poses look very... stock? (IDK what word to use to describe them)
I'll be giving it a go. Looks like this thread of yours worked, lol.

Hrm. I'm not going to argue with you or call you wrong, because I will fully admit I don't know a lot about this stuff. "Art" isn't exactly my forte.

That said, I personally look at it and think it's fine - like, my opinion when I look at it is "Yea, there's nothing wrong with that". In fact, until about 5 minutes ago when more than 1 person said it wasn't good, I was rather proud of that banner. It makes me wonder where the disconnect is, where I look at it and think "Yea that looks good" and then other ppl look at it and go "Actually, that sucks".

And when you say things like "Comp is bad" I literally don't understand what that means. And the colors to me? They look fine. Again I'm not arguing what you're saying, im just saying to me, I don't see what you see, and I wonder why?

Also, I don't understand how that tool is useful. I looked at it for a few seconds, and without a greater understanding of what's behind it, I have no idea what it's even used for. In a minute or so of experimenting, I was able to manipulate it to provide any color combo I wanted. (For example I said "I want 2 blue, 1 yellow, 1 red, 1 green, then I moved them around a bit until it gave me 2 blue, 1 yellow, 1 green, 1 red. I then repeated that for 2 yellow, 2 green, 1 red). It just seems like you could easily manipulate it to provide any color combo you want, so I'm not sure what the point of it is supposed to be?
Well if you're proud of it it's the most important (really) so keep going continue to try things, learn, experiment etc and you'll improve.

About the color wheel maybe forget about it it's... idk how to say but anyway it's not crucial.
Just to illustrate what I said, I took random games from the best rated games last 30days and took banners that looked good or ok and I puted them on this site, maybe you'll understand:

I don't know, but to me the other ones looks more harmonious.
As for the comp I don't really know how to explain it but if you're interested i'm sure you'll find people explaining the basics of comp on youtube or somewhere else.

So just played it again and noticed I didnt stop playing it, it just got lost in the pile of waiting for updates. Game was great for a nonharem game and the renders are good, better then half the DAZ, HS and KK games. I would say the worst negative about it is that the redhead is you best friends girl and nonromanceable.

As for the banner thing yea it looks fine. Thats just it fine. You want the poster image of your game to pop. The scene is fine but dosent really have a beach party feel its too bright. When I think beach party I think of the camp fire at sunset. The text could also be improved the round font and clouds dont really fit well to me.

Thats just my two cents though not trashing it or anything its still good and I enjoyed the game.

Took a look at the page. first strike is the banner image which shows forgettable young girls and an equally forgettable fit man. the name tells me nothing. neither the image nor the name tells a story. there's no intrigue, nothing to draw me in. wouldn't have clicked it, wouldn't even have noticed it. and maybe that's exactly what happened because it rings no bells.

I don't mean that it looked bad or the girls weren't pretty, but that it just lacks... mystery, I guess. nothing is making me wonder "What's going on here?".

as a counter example: there was this game a while ago with a dog as MC. now I have no interest in bestiality, but the second I saw the banner it both told me you're a dog trying to fuck and possibly rape pretty girls, which just sounds like a hilarious concept. I didn't click it because I thought it was outrageous, hot or even original, but because it told me what it was and also made me curious wtf is going on. in other words it instantly told a story, which drew me in. it didn't tell me a plot, it told the dark story of dog rapes. which is interesting. you want to know more, even if you don't want to know more.

second strike: after I clicked your banner (because this thread made me curious, not your banner), the first thing is the bigger banner verifies my first impression: none of them looks like a milf and all of them look forgettable. then I go to tags and don't see milf nor incest, so again nothing points to anything interesting. nothing to draw me in.

third strike: I read the description and again there's nothing. it's so bland and story free it raises absolutely no curiosity. you're not telling anything, except that it's gonna be NTR because there's a 'best friend'. which cuts 90% of your audience. (now it might not have anything to do with NTR, but your description is leaving us the impression that it 100% will.)

also the line "you’ve always been able to navigate the ups and downs of life with ease" alone makes me hate the mc before I know ANYTHING about him. I'm absolutely disgusted. if that was your intention then great job raising emotions, but from the bland description and images I suspect you didn't want to give that impression.

as far as I'm willing to look into it, the game looks like a vanilla game with nothing of interest to me. I did also note there were no dealbreakers either, so technically nothing against it either. but as there are zero things drawing me in, there's zero reasons to draw me in.

***

about the point of it being vanilla, that's probably the widest base you can have to cast your net in. so that's not a mistake. but it needs a hook to draw you in. any hook. I don't think vanilla is anyone's fetish, so it alone is not gonna be the thing that draws even the vanilla people in.

now these are all things, observations and impressions I got before reading one word of the story. so your game could be the most amazing game ever made, but I'd never ever get far enough to find out. I wouldn't even click it without this thread.

***

after reading other comments I wanna say something about the visual quality: the problem is not your colors or even composition, you can have a grainy fucked up image that's all over the place and still is extremely interesting. the problem is your marketing images are not telling a story. there is no action, no emotion. it's a blank.

imagine if it were the MC in mid air leap, pantless with his cock hard, just about to sink his sword in the heart of 7 headed dragon. frame the image so only the MCs mouth is visible, rest is above the frame, and his mouth is grinning. now that tells a story, and at the same time it induces mystery by only showing the grin. who is he? is he the hero or a sadistic villain? why is his dick hard? how did he get into this ridiculous situation?

or imagine if your banner showed a silhuette of a girl falling off a cliff. who is that? did she jump? was she pushed? why does she look like she's given up hope? what is the story behind this?

I'm obviously not someone who the title applies to, as you know. But I can say another reason why some others won't try your game and also why I wouldn't have tried it if I didn't promise you I'd give you feedback.

Many people who like vanilla games expect virgins in games with a male MC. So the lack of a virgin tag makes them skip.

If I just saw the game in latest updates, I'd skip it because there's no indication of BDSM in the game. I know now there's some strong background themes of BDSM at least, but I may not try it again until it gets that tag.
