Starting November 2024, Apple requires Patreon to use its in-app purchase system and remove all other billing systems from the Patreon app on iOS. This means that, from November onwards, new subscriptions purchased within the iOS app will be subject to Apple’s 30% App Store fee.

First, we want to be clear on one point: this change will not affect your current members at any time. The App Store fees only apply to new subscriptions purchased within the iOS app from November 2024 onwards.'

Is it Patreon that's going to get the cut on its margin? Or will people be charged the 30% on their subscription just to fatten Apple?

i'm sure it's explained in the email or links. in short, the creator can decide if the patron will pay 30% more or the 30% will be taken from the creator's earnings
