If you read carefully you would see that I did not say pure file sharing but participating in discussion while KNOWINGLY HAVING un-uploaded relevant content. Obviously the creators themselves (SadCat in this case) should be exempt from this rule but there is no excuse for anyone else.
In this context there is 0 reason to not have this rule that can only make the website better.
I may have written a bit broadely about the issue.
The main idea is the trend of these limitations. If you ban people for irritating communication, it's never a good way to go. And that action will lead to banning not only the jerks, like you mentioned earlier, but also someone who is not that familiar with rules like these. Or there may be misinterpretation of cases by moderation teams.
Yes, I also think that the guy who says - there was this and that in the update, I didn't like it, so you won't like it either - should have some impactful negative feedback. Temporal readonly, idk?
But ban is not the way I'd like it to go, personally. I've seen enough forums that didn't survive strict limitations, unfortunately
