ok wow, this game has a lot going for it but ive got some negatives to say too. a 3.5/5 rounded up to 4
Game Description
this is a sandbox carnival scene collector RPG. you play as a schoolgirl named Ruriko. she attends a prestigeous school and she is known as a great student; good grades, well mannered, reserved, intelligent, etc. but what they don't know is that she's a huge pervert, and very sexually curious. for 30 (in game) days, you live your life as Ruriko during her summer break and control the extent of her sexual behaviour. the ending is dependent on how you choose Ruriko to live through the 30 days
Things I Liked:
- Ruriko is hot. she fits her slut role well, you can definitely see her addiction to sexual happenings because of how much she enjoys and craves it. but.. you can see what i think of her personality/character in the dislike section
- the porn scenes are good. they're well drawn/nice artstyle and the situations/scenarios are good too. she does sex work, she enters a gloryhole, she gives molesters and rapists what they want, she fucks a salary man - pimp/playboy - foreigner black guy - as well as more characters. sooo lots of porn and of good quality. only bad-ish thing i can say is sometimes the proportions can look off but i dont think thats anything meaningful
- gameplay is relaxed. very low effort running around collecting scenes. i say low effort as in it doesnt require any effort or focus to play the game, you just need a working keyboard and functional reading skills. some people might say this is bad but i disagree because the game was designed to be a scene collector and thats what the gameplay will reflect
- uniqueness. i notice in a lot of games corruption or just sluttification of a character is a bad thing or its just not incentivised but for Nymphomania Paradox her perversion is the whole point of the game, so its rather the opposite which is good
- optional NTR. you got the option of letting your childhood friend date you and cucking him behind his back. the NTR itself isnt the reason i like it (its whatever) its the fact that its very much optional
- your outfit reflects the porn scene. now, this is very commendable, i gotta say. rarely do games do this ever, and it means extra effort was taken to redraw scenes just for the sake of having the option not to remove the current outfit you're wearing. its pretty cool
Things I Disliked:
- no story whatsoever. like literally 0 story not even a premise, i dont count us introducing her as a slut as some kind of premise it just lacks any development or reason to the things she does beyond blind and random lust
- Ruriko has no personality. remember when i said shes good at being perverted well yeah that's about the only thing she's got going for her. you'd think she tries to maintain her identity as intelligent, mannered and a good student but she doesnt at all because i certainly didnt see that in her and i doubt anyone else did
- "sociality" stat is poorly implemented. yes i understand that the reason this stat exists, its to make sure her public image is good so that her life isnt ruined if people find out about her private sexual affairs. however i think its poorly used, for starters you cant visit the school if it drops to 0 which is just stupid. secondly, it goes down the more sex you engage in, but one of the scenes you can unlock needs 1. money 2. high sociality - the highest paying job is one that decreases your sociality meaning once you have enough money your sociality is probably too low to initiate the scene chain which is also just idiotic (it's the business centre scenes if you're curious, you need enough money to buy the business suit). thirdly you need a better way to keep the sociality higher than wasting time doing a job down at the beach or studying in school (which let me remind you - you cant visit if its 0!)
- gameplay loop?... the first ~13 or so in game days were pretty enjoyable but after that point i realised i unlocked 95% of the scenes in the gallery. the other 5% i didnt understand how to get as you will see in the next issue, but that is besides the point - what the hell was i supposed to do for the next 17 days if the point of the game is scene collecting? this heavily demotivated me to the point where i didnt try see the ending if you waited until day 30, so i only know what the other endings look like
- who the hell is Takuo??? there is only two scene chains where i needed a hint from the gallery, and one of them was for the gym scene chain. the hint you are given for the gym scene chain is to call Takuo after experiencing that scene, but i have no idea who this mf is and i have no idea how to find him. i searched the entire game world for Takuo and hes just nowhere to be found so its like the game already assumes i have him on my phone but i dont and i dont know where to find him
Conclusion
this game could be a lot better, but its still mostly good. with better writing, better development choices, cutting the amount of days in half and making Takuo appear more obvious i would rate it higher. cause right now i have no attachment to Ruriko since there's no story and no personality of her, so collecting scenes doesnt feel as great since the gameplay can feel rudimentary and unintuitive (too many days and the sociality stat). maybe it could benefit from some minigames or something else too? not sure, but regardless i think its still good to play
