VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Oath of Loyalty [Ch. 10] [Silk Ari/REV]

Absolutely horrible writing and story. Choices are presented, but most of it simply drives which girls you are with, not the story itself. Some seriously dumb decisions by NPCs and the MC give it an overall total eye-roll experience.

One of the guys needs to simply be shot, straight up, no questions… and yet the MC tolerates him and his idiotic antics for well over half the game.

Another example: the MC catches one of the main characters cheating on their significant other (and by way of association, his own family and father), and basically throws out any idea of using it for either his own gain, or for his family’s gain. He doesn’t extort them financially, sexually, or for any favors. It’s just idiocy - in the mafia when you have leverage and can use it, you DO.

Not gonna recommend this one for all the reasons above. The renders, models, lack of animations, and basically anything related to sex take a backseat to the idiotic story. Nothing can save this one at all from itself.

this is quite a good game, compared to the average. I don't know why people rate lowly, it deserves 4.5 ⭐ at least from my perspective. Storyline and graphic render are attractive, those two milfs look a bit older compared to young girls, not like mothers look like the same young as their daughters. It's a pity author abandoning the sequel and these is not any way to sponsor because of dead links. Absolutely appreciate the effort the author put into developing this game and wishes you all the best

The game covers all bases: decent story, likeable characters , good animations, I mean there's really no reason anyone would dislike this game besides just not enjoying the concept in general. It's a shame the devs didn't get the support they deserved when making it, because there's no doubt this product fits exactly what was promised.

It always difficult to be critical when seeing so much effort put into a game, but I guess honest reviews are needed, as well as those motivating ones.

The very first impression was related to the visuals - they are fairly average. I'd say - quite below the top tier games. The character models used are not pretty. These two combined result in poor expectations off the bat. Although I don't think it's the case, it can lead you to thinking that the game author is not talented or didn't try hard enough.

Second impression - the story feels incredibly linear. The sex scenes simply happen (i.e. you don't have to work to get them), the main story seems to be very rigid and all the decisions along the line are basically irrelevant.

Third impression - the gameplay is dull and boring. Most of it consists in clicking past the dialogues, which feel "plasticky" and uneventful. I haven't encountered any side quests or side stories, while other characters feel increasingly like brainless NPCs.

The game feels heavily The DeLuca Family inspired, but without the same level of polishedness (although that game is not perfect either).

As points of improvement I see the following:

1. adding more emphasis on character building. It can either be skill stats or equipment. The grind is missing;
2. adding mini-games to switch focus during the game;
3. adjusting the script in order to avoid the gender stereotypes of this game: male characters feel like toxic alphas overdosed on testosterone, while female characters feel like nymphomaniac sluts;
4. there needs to be a free-roam aspect of the game, that would allow the MC choices to impact the outcome (e.g. expanding family influence by coordinating operations, creating business opportunities);
5. less text, more decisions, more branching.

Oath of Loyalty [Ch. 10]

Pros

• A very nice & thrilling story emphasizing incest & polyamorous. Incest approach by mom was very good, especially mom’s approaching her sleeping son (who is undergoing enormous pressure) by rewarding him the sexual pleasure was pretty unique way to and to give-up the morality was very well expressed. A very unique way /scenario for mother having sex with her son; very much convincing pretty differently. Too beautiful. And later merely same strategy being followed by MC’s sister
• Excellent quality of image renders. All the females pretty good looking and in good shape.
• Fairly good quality of animations; especially the hard breathing is being expressed by the stomach movement while having sex, something bit interesting to observe being in detail
• Playability is OK, performance is little slow but not bad and grammar are all just OK no issue.
• Fairly good amount of contents. Little confusing to observe as completed while the end of story says to look for part 2

Cons

• Unwanted jargons like DA / PD mostly related to police department of America, I guess. I mean this game doesn’t seem to have made for global players or just assumed that everybody will knows/understand
• Sound: Almost no sound except background music
• Most of the men facial expressions are too funny especially MC’s. His face looks like a person who is sick and suffering from fever/headache
• Lack of seductiveness in sexual approach especially the first one. The female approaches the MC who is doing his collage homework in the café and they seems to be meeting first time but feel like they know each other but couldn’t remember even then just go for casual sex just like that. Looks funny being no logic at all

Ch. 10 is where the original creator ended things essentially the end of "Chapter 1". Because of this I'm reviewing it as the complete work.

If someone wanted a quick summary of what I thought of the game. I would say "A shallow take on mafia life from the point of view of a mafia movie lover with lifeless sex scenes."

The story in this game is a mess with simple one dimensional characters getting pushed forward by events. Like I stated previously it feels like the creator liked mafia movies and used certain aspects of that to write a somewhat interesting story but actual execution of that story is messy and rushed and at times the porn logic gets in the way creatively.

The characters aren't terrible and I think there is pretty decent variety. I do think some of the characters end up mishandled though. Some girls seem important but don't get enough time while others are very important but are used poorly leaving you a little frustrated that you don't have much control on who you spend time with.

In terms of if this is a real game well... "choice" I feel like this isn't for anyone looking for branching paths or picking and choosing women. You're pretty limited in what choices you get to make and the point mechanic really isn't that involved. I was disappointed there wasn't more tough choices for our lead character to make. At the start you're given an option of what type of work you'll do but you never interact with it beyond that. Even the little store aspect feels pretty pointless overall.

If you've come for the sex scenes I think most will leave disappointed. They're over before they start and feel a bit too fake. Like if you had dolls playing pretend sex. There were a couple scenes that were okay but I think this games focus was more on the story and that's okay.

The sound is bad... I hated the laughs and moans. It could also use music to set the scenes and mood better.

I've been pretty hard on the game but honestly if you're a fan of gang/mafia games the time sink for this isn't so much that you'll regret playing it. I think the creator had ambitious plans and maybe if they had the time and money necessary this one could be something. As is it left though, I can't really rate it highly. If I could give half stars I would put it at a 2.5/5 stars.

This VN is one of the really good ones, not perfect, but what is perfect anyway.

Sure, maybe the author is not an expert at how the mob operates (who here is anyway?), but it's easy enough to suspend any disbelief and to accept the version of the mob we get in the game, it works within the concept of the story.

The story is really good in this one and the VN is also not overly long, I would say you can finish it in one or maybe two long-ish sessions even though it has 10 chapters. What this means is that the writing is very much focused, on point, you don't get sidetracked, there is no grind, this story is all meat and almost no fat and every scene you get serves a purpose and doesn't just pad out the game! You will not want to skip the dialogue ever.

Another real highlight are the character models, this is one of the very, very few VNs that has female characters that look like actual real life women. And I applaud the devs for that decision!The women all have realistic proportions, there are some imperfections here and there, the breasts don't defy gravity and look natural, something very few other VNs ever bother to do, a few characters even have a little fat here and there, like normal people usually have. But the characters are still very, very beautiful (you will of course recognize some of the usual DAZ models, but that's ok really), all of them really, no exception, even the MC looks alright and he's also neither a creep nor an empty shell, he has a personality.

If you like a more naturalistic approach to character models then Oath of Loyalty is the VN you want to play. I really wish more VNs did that.

There is also a decent replay value since you can get different endings and there are even routes you can only get if you (mostly) ignore other characters.

One bad thing is that part 1 leaves things pretty open ended and that the original dev then abandoned the VN. You do get some closure, it's a "happy for now" ending more or less (depending on the route you take of course) but you absolutely want to see more and several character arcs are not finished. However a new dev is willing to make part 2, so there's hope we will get proper closure eventually and resolve all the character arcs.
Another thing I did not like is that a few times you get zero choice in the sex scenes, which are fully animated and pretty good (but nothing you haven't seen elsewhere), but if certain kinks like anal are nothing you want to see then you will (depending on the route you take!) have to see that content 2 or 3 times. It would have been a lot better to give the player a choice here.
The lack of music is also somewhat disappointing, there are some sound effects, and very late in the game there is some music, but for the most part it's a silent experience.

But those are mostly just minor nitpicks that may prevent a 5 star rating, however it's nothing that should ever prevent you from checking out this otherwise excellent VN.

One final word, you can define character relations for each and every important character, so it's up to you to decide if you share your house with a "mentor" , "teacher" or "childhood friend" etc, you know the drill. No patch is required for this game. The game was certainly intended to feature a father, mother, sister, aunt, uncle and several cousins. So I recommend you customize the characters accordingly for the best possible experience.

I have been playing porn games since like 2017, so i have played plenty of games, and so far this is probably the game with the story that i have gotten hooked up the most with. The game does delivers what it promises, making your choices matter.
The characters are nice and cosistent, it takes it time building up the relationship, you dont jump directly into sex (i like build up, seduction, to break the taboo)

The onlything that the game could improve its in the sex scenes, they can be sometimes too short which makes them not AS rewarding as they could be.

I'm really looking forward for the second part of the game, its a real shame that this game as well of other good games, arent as succesfull as they deserve, bc this game does deserves much more attention

I've got to say, I have enjoyed this one as much as other VNs like, Depraved Awakening, Acting lessons, Deliverance etc. The characters were also very interesting. The story was kinda short for one season.
The story has a great future I think. I just hope this VN reaches more people and the dev gets more patreon support as the previous dev didn't get either of them, resulting abandoning the game. The new dev took over for his love for this VN I believe. So, he should get more support and popularity IMO.

I'm mixed on this game.

The plot was intelligent and good enough. You probably wouldn't feel like another child developed one not porn game.

The characters were eye candy enough. Though I wouldn't have minded more scenes.

Most of these games have a large amount of harem to it. I don't need harem scenes under those circumstances. (I'll gladly accept more scenes as the alternative) All I ask is for a harem ending. This is fiction/fantasy. So that is doable and makes the fantasy part, doesn't have to be reasonable or fair as they're are always those who argue gender fairness in favor of no harem. I'd agree in real life. Now the game ain't real life though.

If this ending was harem, it was secret harem while looking like a single path made the ending.
Suppose it was worth my time, but I wouldn't glorify the game or hype it up

This game is trying to be Goodfellas but ends up being Gotti. The game designer has clearly seen mafia movies but fails to understand what makes a mafia movie (or any movie for that matter) actually good and entertaining. The game designer sees a movie with a dramatic moment where tensions are high and characters are yelling at each other and decides to copy that for his own story. So he has his characters scream at each other during every single meeting because he fails to understand that it's not the yelling and screaming that is exciting. It is the context, the character development, and the interpersonal relationships between the people who have found themselves in a screaming match. None of those things are present in this game. It's only the screaming. In trying to copy the mob movies he loves, the game designer has only managed to copy the broad strokes of a mob story, with one dimensional characters who do not have wills of their own. They simply get pulled along as the plot dictates regardless of how stupid their actions are. I think one of the best (and funniest) examples of the game designer seeing, copying, but without understanding, is that the father character wears a tux. Every day. In the beginning of the first Godfather film, Marlon Brando in the titular role is wearing a tux. It's a very famous scene. Everyone knows the image of Vito Corleone in a tux, holding council in his office. So the game designer has put the father character in a tux. He sees, he copies, but doesn't understand. In the movie, Vito Corleone is wearing a tux because he's at his daughter's wedding. He does not wear a tux ever again in the movie. Yet in this game, the father wears a tux every day to go sit in his office because the game designer can only copy the most obvious, surface level details. It's a shame some pretty decent models are wasted on this poor cliché-ridden imitation of mob story.

As someone who's no stranger to the world of adult games, I have to say that "Oath of Loyalty" was a colossal letdown. It's not often that I feel compelled to write such a harsh review, but this game simply doesn't live up to even the lowest of expectations.

Let's start with the obvious: the adult content. It's woefully lackluster. The scenes felt like they were tacked on as an afterthought, with none of the build-up, passion, or realism that you'd expect from a game in this genre. The animations were clunky at best, and the dialogue was cringe-worthy. If you're going to include explicit content, at least put some effort into making it remotely enticing.

Moving beyond the adult scenes, the game's story and characters are equally disappointing. The plot is a convoluted mess. It's like the developers threw every mafia and melodrama trope they could think of into a blender and hit "start." The result is a mishmash of tired clichés that lack any originality or creativity.

Characterization is a joke. Most of the characters are one-dimensional caricatures with no depth or complexity. The main character is the worst offender. They flip-flop between personas without rhyme or reason, making it impossible to connect with or care about their journey.

And don't get me started on the supposed "plot twists." These were so forced and contrived that I found myself rolling my eyes rather than being genuinely surprised or intrigued. It's as if the game couldn't decide which direction to take, so it just threw in random twists for the sake of it.

In conclusion, "Oath of Loyalty" is a prime example of how not to make an adult game. It's riddled with problems, from the lackluster adult content to the incoherent plot and underdeveloped characters. If you're looking for a satisfying and immersive experience in this genre, you're better off steering clear of this trainwreck and finding something that actually respects your time and investment.

Good plot. Interesting cast and the choices matter a lot. You can try to fuck all of them, but everything will fall on your head, just like real life. Every choice has consequences. Well, the models are good, but the animation is stiff as a GIF. The developer also wants a lot of money to keep making the game, what is understandable, but there are so many games out there with only patreon support that is kinda hard to see this see the light of day with part 2 someday.

I have played thru the game 3 times. chose a different crime or the combination of crimes in each gameplay. sad to see there is not much content difference based on this. would have liked it better if there would or would not have been specific events related to the chosen crime. (ofcourse i noticed that the cop/detective is only on your payroll when you are not into drugs, and ofcourse i noticed a few different lines of text upon opening of the game when studying economics) - just being confronted with what seemed like an important choice , the crime factor, i feel let down that the content is not more based on this. Overall i enjoyed the game with the many paths that can be taken or can be overlooked. Hope a 2nd part to this game will be actually produced and it wont end up like the first game of the developer, abandoned.

I'd give this a 3.5, but rounding it down because I got bored towards the end.


The story is about a young-adult son getting ensnared in his father's mafia business. The son knows little about the criminal underworld - and is mostly just out to protect his mom and sister - but he learns quickly. It doesn't feel like a mere backdrop for sex, the dev did try to do more here.

Characters are intriguing. Besides the mom or sister, there are others that might catch your eye. Don't expect a harem, though.

Dialog felt long-winded. There's a ratio of show and tell that is pleasant. This had a bit too much tell, and too little show for me.

The sex was a letdown. The animations are the wrong kind of stiff. Imagine pulling a sex doll up before gravity takes it down again. It's a bit like that. The motion is fluid, but not at all life-like. And then there's the thought-speech during sex... I'm not against thoughts. I have a few myself sometimes. But more of it could have been worked into conversations, and fun dynamics with the person whose playing happyspanks with you.


## Decent story has more things going for it than most sex games. Bring a dose of patience, and enjoy it at your own leisurely pace.

This game was honestly pretty good. The story was super duper good and it kept me wanting to know what happened next. The cast of characters are beautiful and I really enjoyed being able to interact with them with so many options.

The animations were a bit dull though and very generic. Also felt like there was SO MANY OPTIONS that its hard to get the ending that you would want even if you went through using a walkthrough. In fact arguably using a walkthrough could ruin your experience since you will likely pick the option that has + on it and you won't even really know what they mean. Each option leads to a different ending so there isn't always a right or wrong (except sometimes) so it can be really frustrating making you feel you have to play the game multiple times to get the ending you want. This would be why I took a star because sometimes even to many options can ruin a game.

Basically abandoned or on hold. Ending is up in the air and apparently if you date 1 character you get killed in the end. Good premise and start but then some ways it turns bad. The dev left this to redo a game he abandoned before because he didn't think he was getting enough money for it. Abandoning games gives you a bad reputation and makes that less likely. It is marked completed but not anywhere near so.

It's a good game hampered by the fact the MC is an idiot.

Premise is sound, the effort's been put into actually give the world it's set in some weight. Character models look like they've had the effort put in so no issue there. But, and this could simply be a problem with the MC in the early game, he's thick as mince.

The premise is he's the son of a mafia don, or whatever the equivalent in this world is. Which is fine, but once the game begins and he starts to interact with the world, it becomes clear he is ignorant to almost everything about that style of life, to the point it feels forced.

I can understand him having no interaction with that side of the life as it's set out very early on his father doesn't want him to, but to not know ANYTHING about the world he lives in hurts the story. The character is about to graduate from Uni, so 21/22 roughly. He lives a life of luxury in a city which is split between 3 rival gang families... and he seems ignorant to almost everything. He might not KNOW, but he would surely SUSPECT but it seems with him it's neither. It could have been explained away as him being really sheltered and not caring about anything not in front of him but it's highlighted early on he's not an idiot and is pretty much ready to graduate.

Even his sister seems to suffer from the same issue as she's shocked when some of the family business spills over into her own life. Like we're led to believe there's been nothing like that in the 20 years of their lives up to that point.

As I said, it's possible, but it feels forced for the sake of plot.

the story has really surprised me, very choral and pleasant, the female characters, although quite classic and with not much space available, all interesting and lovable (even those with negative nuances), the sexual scenes quite varied, rendered above average, but animations that do not particularly stand out.

the only really boring passage is the one about the story of the protagonist's parents, which serves to show the birth of the nemesis, but despite this it's really boring and too long.

when i finished it i wanted more, let's hope for this second part....

I like Mafia theme of game.

Girls look very good, and there is a lot of sexual tension.
Also the way you play the game picking path and how hard it will be is nice thing to see.

I play this game since the beginning and it is always kept my interest.
The pictures are very good, and the woman look very good.

I like how I can see my stats at the end of chapter. This is good because game can seem complicated.
