Long time gooner and pervayor of digital enjoyment. Did some coding before GUI. Stuff like FORTRAN and COBAL and even Pascal. But with the advent of drop and drag developement I lost my fire and just joined the masses enslaved to Microsoft. Now retired, I am somewhat home bound and want to get into developing games. I always build my own computers from scratch. I will be building a new machine shortly and am looking for advice for focusing on game building and 3d character developement. Money IS an object and I usually ride the training edge of technology.

you should probably search for threads on topics that interest you inside https://f95zone.to/forums/programming-development-art.73/ and its subforums, or just ask directly in dev help there (for starters, you could clarify whether you mean a proper 3d game or what the majority is doing with rendering still images and animations, a.k.a. 3dcg, to use in renpy)

The courses at gamedev.tv are a good place to start. I don't think they still have the lifetime membership to get every course anymore. Some Google Fu should answer whether it ever came back or not. HOWEVER, if you go finish the free part of a course there is always an offer to buy it for an insane discount.

All of their courses are great EXCEPT for the math course. It's like learning calc 2 or 3 from someone that is trying to teach it like basic addition. 2+5=7, OK? Next. SQRT Pi TAN is this, got it? If not keep watching the 1 minute video until it makes sense. Next. If you previously mastered calculus and it's on the tip of your tongue it might help jog your memory. You just can't learn inferential and differential calculus in 20 minutes of video.
