So I'm planning to switch to linux as my main operating system but I also want to play old japanese games that require a locale emulator on it.
For example my favorite old japanese eroge is Custom Reido III, F and V, would I be able to run them on linux?

I was searching for linux games and noticed this thread so heres a late reply. Japanese locale emulation works fine in wine. I've used this method before with success.

I think you should install a Virtual Machine software like Virtual Box and a Windows 7 copy, it's not much disadvange compare to real machine OS. Then switch OS Language to Japan.

Just fyi, that's even slower than wine...
So if you are expecting this level of incovenience to play games just create a dual boot partition at that point and it will be faster...
