It's been forever ago, so hopefully some of these details are correct. I think it was an rpg maker game, the starting area had you talking with an inventor/engineer girl who told you about how everyone is living here inside something (a giant creature?). She sends you out to fix things/get parts to craft stuff to try and eventually escape this place...it's not much to go off of but that's all I can remember at the moment.
