VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Once in a Lifetime [v1.0] [Caribdis]

The best adult game I've played so far. Genuinely funny at times and the main and side cast of characters were all well written and charming. The story wasn't horrible or insane but it was just enough, it was exactly what it needed to be. This was truly a masterpiece of the adult visual novels.

My game review :
1. The story overall isn't that great except the choice divergence and the questionnaires are great. Shows the author is knowledgeable
2. I know Stabby is suppose to be comedy and its nice touch, but some scenes leading up to harem are too dumb and unrealistic, seems like author simply trying to meet deadlines at times. Eg. Even mom depending in her son's hidden runaway plan, etc.
3. Graphics are fine but simply not up to top standard for today.
4. The game missed its main point, kinda, absence of post harem or pregnant scenes.

Suggestion: Inclusion of an average looking girl but the story making her lovable and/or sexy.

Final thought: I'd put it top 20 adult novel game due to choice divergence and also lovely sisters, cousin is good too, the rest of girls are just average writing.

Question: 1. Do smart girls even like guys standing up for them in a stupid way like an idiot insulting the other person like in this game?
2. Can you actually find your real mother sexy? i can understand siblings but mother is impossible for me.

For me this is the pinnicle of western VN's. The writing is incredible, there is great dialogue between the characters and Caribdis is excellent at writing comedy which comes up several times through OiaLT and Eternium. The character list also remains relatively small with all the characters being well developed and getting plenty of screen time which is great to see. The art style is kind of unique, and while more recent games (like the aforementioned eternium) look much better, the art definitely holds up. Honestly I can't recommend the game enough and it's best experienced by playing it, so go do that!

Humor is hard. Probably even more so in a porn game where the line between funny and cringe can become quite blurry. But this game delivers. And that alone is a big achievement.

But even apart from that, it is a very engaging plot. It's not like an amazing story or anything, in fact it's pretty nonsensical even for a fantasy game.

But it's a fast paced engaging plot that doesn't let things get stale, but also does not yank you around with surprise after surprise, that make no sense so big props.

The girls and the scenes are really hot. And the characters are charming and endearing.

It's basically the avn equivalent of your typical high octane popcorn flick. Nothing groundbreaking, but extremely fun. My only complaint would be the music, but overall, an incredibly good game.

Man, what a great game; characters are hot as hell, a great story and concept, funny and engaging writing, and even decent sex scenes. Why can't more games reach this caliber? If I had to criticize anything, I would argue that the sound could be better at the start of the game, maybe a soundtrack or background ambiance. I would also suggest that the choices to be made weren't always no-brainers, that there are hard choices or trade-offs. I really can't critize it too much because at least the author gave us myriad of choices. Download and play this game now, seriously!

It's the best game I've ever played in last 5 years (you know, these culture games). Looking forward for development to start play the last version of "Eternum". Going to support author in the way I can.

One of the best games played by me recently. You do not get bored playing it rather the oposite you do not want to stop playing. Nice scenario, good animations and of course in the end you can win all the girls!

Great game with a good sense of humor, and great educative scenes. Kinda simple but endearing characters and with this you can follow the story easily. Animated scenes are a 4/5 but their context makes them a 5/5

I really like your work very much. I have finished it. Now I'm playing the Eternum. I can't help coming to express my thanks. You are really working hard to make a game. from the macro to the details, everything is impeccable. no mention the desigh of characters, sets, clothes but the music and plot are fascinating. especially the script design, each character has a unique personality. To be honest, it's like making a movie. and we all know it's not easy. and by the way, did I mention that the script is very humorous, it make me laugh all the time. You guys did a great job! I'm looking forward to the next work.

Profoundly cringe on every conceivable level. Bad art, worse writing, nonsense flow, butthoumust, extremely bad takes, terribad jokes, pointless gating, etc. People must be starving for quality in H games to rate this highly. You can make hunger pains go away by eating rocks, but it's not good food.

This is easily one of the best games out there. Caribdis designed a compelling story, and the artwork is fantastic. There's plenty of humor, drama, and the other stuff you play these games for. It's also intelligent, the plot twists are entertaining, and proper grammar and spelling throughout. Nice work. I might like Caribdis' next project (Eternum) just a little bit more, but both are simply awesome.

Where to begin? This game blew me away. The writing, the visuals, everything blended together nearly perfectly. The story was a roller coaster of emotions up to the end. My biggest complaint is that I can only play it for the first time once.

I'm not a huge fan honey select, but the story for this game cannot be denied. It's intricate and you honestly care about the characters. I enjoyed every minute I played with this game.

Story - Depth of character building and story arc are a ten out of ten, just great.

Visuals - Not my bag, but done very well for honey select.

Gameplay - This is a visual novel, but the developer mixes it up and puts some sandbox elements in it as well, which I found kinda cool

It's an excellent game with an intriguing plot. I burst out laughing several times. I simply wish there were more games like this one. Even if parts of the characters' garments clip through their limbs at times, the animation is excellent.

I love to torture myself with such Games because i easily get emotionally attached to virtual Characters.

This one is definetly in my Top 3 so far, i really like the Characters. The Story was decent, not world changing, but i couldnt say anything negative about it either.

The Characters, alltough some more some less, have a decent background and interesting Story, each was interesting in their own Way.

I also want to give Once in a Lifetime Bonus Points for being way more funny than i expected it to be. There have been many Times in which the Game actually made me laugh out loud.

Since i used the Walktrough Mod, i reached, what i would assume, the best possible Ending. I wouldnt have it any other Way, i really like the Ending, the Game didnt pointlessly drag on, and at no Point have i ever felt like skipping because content felt like Filler.

Since, like i said, i easily get emotionally attached to virtual Characters, i would give this a 10/10. My Heart hurts a little knowing that the Story ended, but im glad it was a good one!

It is a really great game mostly because of how entertaining and funny story is. Also a big point for the game is that all the love interest of the protagonist are interesting, unique and likable characters that make follow their path a very rewarding experience. Nevertheless, I think the renders are not the best even if the scenes are good.

I had a really fun time with this game. I played it on and off for several months and often lost track of what was going on, but I still managed to enjoy it.

Initially I thought this game was plot focused with a sprinkling of lewd, but I felt it shifted as it went on. It was 3 hours until the first sex scene, but later in the game you're getting lewd scenes probably every 20-30 minutes. It may be because there were too many characters developing at once early on which dragged progression. By mid-game, it's as if their romantic scenes are popping off back to back at the same time.

At the very beginning of the game it mentions that any bad choices could "divert you from the path." I didn't take this warning too seriously as I did not realize it would completely lock you out of routes without warning and assumed I could easily go back to change my decisions if I wanted. However, at one point when I checked up on my status with the characters, I noticed one said "path lost". I didn't even know what decision I made that caused that to happen or when it did, there was no in-game communication. By the time I realized, I couldn't go back far enough so I started all over from the beginning to change some choices so I recommend saving often or at least checking on your path statuses regularly. At another point much later in the game, I reached a bad ending and it booted me to the title screen. If I didn't have backup saves, I would've lost hours of progress.

I thought raising your relationship status with certain characters would cause others to go down or that making certain decisions would lead to a different type of outcome rather than no outcome at all. The choices in this game are almost multiple choice tests where there is a definite right answer, and I'm not talking about the literal multiple choice tests where if you pass you impress them with your big brain and raise your relationship status. So I recommend trying to satisfy everyone and going for the obvious compliments, at least in the early game.

The relationship with the mom character seems the most forced or cheaply written. She already has feelings for you and all it takes is convincing her to be more open and honest. There was very little persuasion or relationship building necessary. The same could probably be said for all characters honestly, but for a member of your immediate family, she almost felt like a minor background character.

I forgot this as I was playing, but at the very beginning of the game, you're given the option of whether you want pregnancy to be a feature in the game or not. I chose no, so it made all the sex scenes seem harmless. Creampies with no consequence. If pregnancy were enabled, I'm not sure to what extent it would impact the story or character relationships, or if it's purely a difference in physical appearance.

When finally nearing the end and reflecting back on my playthrough, I thought this game succeeded in gradually building relationships so that story moments felt earned and satisfying. I think there are multiple endings and I like to believe I got a happy one. A touching, open-ended conclusion. Unsure what the future holds for these characters, but they don't know either. They're happy and don't care, so long as they have each other.

An Amazing h game with tons of pop culture refferces and great story with funny and interesting diagolue. The h scenes are well aniamated and easy to unlock, there is a gallery to rewatch scenes. The chracters are all unique and likeable in there own ways and have differt arc types. Deffiently download and play this and support the creator if you can
