VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Once in a Lifetime [v1.0] [Caribdis]

Im starting to like this more cartoony 3D style more and more. Not aiming for realism avoids the problem of uncanny valley entirely.

Fantastic game all round, and unlike 90% of the games with great potential, this one actually was and is finished.

The story is good, intriguing and even though the ending is nothing mindblowing, it's really the journey that matters, as cliché as it is to say that. (Not true universally tho e.g. GoT) The game does not drag on and knows when it should close the story.

The characters are vibrant and unique, even if everyone has pretty much the same body. Some, admittedly, were better fleshed out than others, but I prefer that and the game being finished over the game being stuck on v0.49 or something for eternity, because the author revises and remakes every minor detail about each character, never making any progress towards actually finishing the game.

The only negatives I can think of is firstly, there is a LOT of scrollwheel action if you want to get the best possible outcomes. For this reason, I would strongly recommend installing the walkthrough mod, even if it kind of trivializes any "challenge" (its a VN ) in the game.

Truly a masterpiece as mentioned by others. I very seldom post reviews, and I only do so for games I thought the best, and truly this game is one of those! From the characters, the pretty girls, the buildup pace (which is neither slow nor fast, just right) and the HUMOR, everything is superb! Story is not realistic but sure it is entertaining. This is one of the best, dont miss this game peeps!

This game really caught me off guard when I played this from beginning to finish.

I thought this looked liked any other 3D Ren'py visual novel game that is never finished and sometimes look odd to play. But this exceeded my expectations. This a fantastic game. A Harem with a very mysterious and cult thriller story.

I actually liked and romanced Judie, Lauren, Jasmine, Iris, and Aiko. I loved their sex scenes. I could have romanced Carla or Rebecca, but I didn't.

Prisoner Mike is the Best friend I have never expected. and gotten the Harem Ending. This was the best Adult visual Novel I've ever played.

An amazing game overall. Quite a few times made me genuinely laugh. The sex scenes start relatively weak, not outright bad, but rather short and inexpressive, thou I'm not sure if it was due to the creator's inexperience or on purpose, and only about less then the first 1/3 of the scenes are meh, the other 2/3 improve drastically and are some of the better scenes in animation and pacing I have seen. The lighthearted story with very little unnecessary drama is greatly appreciated as well. 100% recommend to anyone.

I had a lot of fun with this game, especially the humor that was carefully added in each scenario. The support characters are awesome, with Myke and Hitomi shine brighter than anyone else. Its a great game in general

Easily one of the best games I've ever played. You will fall in love with the characters, the humor, the story, and everything else this game has to offer. The sex scenes are very good, but you would want to keep playing even if they weren't in the game. Caribdis is truly the hero of adult visual novels.

I don't normally bother leaving reviews, but holy shit this game is amazing. The story is able to be serious when it counts, while still being very comedic at times. It's not often I can say a porn game made me lose my shit laughing, but this one did, several times. For those who like wholesome, happy ending type stories, this one can absolutely deliver on that front, assuming the right choices are made. I would highly suggest downloading the walkthrough mod and just playing it like an interactive movie, following the walkthrough exactly (it highlights all the choices needed for the best ending, and tells you what order to pick them in when needed).

The actual sexual stuff is balanced out pretty nicely with the non-sexual stuff. It doesn't suffer from the problem that other games of this type sometimes do, where there's way too much redundant dialogue and you end up spam clicking to get through it, nor does it throw sex scenes at you left and right with little buildup. The quality of the actual scenes is about what you'd expect from a honey select VN, though I certainly wouldn't consider that a bad thing.

Overall, a very enjoyable story with surprisingly unique characters. Serious plot, but with a fair bit of comedy sprinkled here and there. Probably the only negative thing I could say about this game is how some of the characters could be a little bit more visually distinct from generic honey select models, but that's a trivial detail compared to all the good things this game has in store. Highly recommend.

Absolutely incredible. This game is the standard for what any V/N using honey select models should strive for. There is a reason why this game is one of the highest rated games on this site. For me, this is the perfect mixture of humor, storytelling and of course, smut.

Holy shit this game is a damn masterpiece in every way! This is my new favorite game hands down! This game has achieved a perfect balance of humor, horror, and great story telling all rolled into one. I was laughing so hard at times my eyes almost started watering. This game will have you absolutely hooked! I had to force myself to go to sleep because I was playing the game for so long it was literally 4 AM, and the sun was coming up. This is in my opinion one of the best games I have played on this site. You can tell the DEV really put his heart and soul into this game and it shows in the humor. I know you're a fellow weeb as well DEV with all the anime, and cult classic sci-fi movie references. Appreciate it.


Each of the characters have unique personalities that you can see develop throughout the duration of the game the graphics and settings of the story is immersive and will really get you hooked as if you're right there with the characters. The humor flows almost naturally and is done so well it doesn't come off as forced or done too much.

I could write a 5 page paper on all the things this game gets right I have never played a game that deserved five stars so much until now. I couldn't find anything negative that detracted from the game. There's no pointless filler talk or unnecessary side character introduction everything flows smoothly as if you're watching an addictive tv show you just can't stop watching.

I recommend this game with all of my being and if you happen to finish the game please review it so more people can discover this masterpiece. I saw this on the top rated area but never gave it a chance but i'm so glad I did. 5/5 stars DEV I look forward to playing any future games you play. IDK really why people giving it high score

the game looks good in deapth
but the graphic or female characters looks so dull .. which turns me off again and again

iam progressing in the game if i met something that prove me to give higher score why not

the game is excellent the story looked like anime plot, not that am complaining, but what did this game top tier for me were the characters and the comedy, and my god i laughed my ass off. So in conclusion it could have been bigger and longer but that would probably killed it or make it worse so its better this way very good game .

Superb. From the animations, to dialogue, and jokes. One demerit I might give is that the endings are quite short. Like 20 lines or under short, but for everything else I'd say it's a 10/10, worst case a 9.9/10.

This game was just a fun experience honestly. the girls were great and the scenes didn't fall short whatsoever. The story wasn't a masterpiece but it was damn enjoyable for what it was. the humor was there for when it needed to be and for me didn't overstay its welcome too often. All in all this game really deserves the praises it gets and is a great game to just relax and enjoy.

The character designs of the ladies are excellent, especially the sisters. The story felt pretty meh at first but the humour and personalities/looks of the different girls won me over and around 50% in I was totally invested and actually wanted to see the end (which basically is a first for me).

All the main relationships had great build-up but for some it might take a bit too long time for the first sex-scenes to get going. For me it was totally worth it.

The storyline is ridiculous, but in the way a great B-movie is ridiculous. You (hopefully) aren't supposed to take it seriously and letting go of your pretensions makes it a hell of a lot of fun. The characters are different enough personality-wise, but I'm knocking a star off for their sameness physically. The women are all built the same and a few of the male characters look so much alike that I had trouble telling them apart.

Worth playing.

Not a particularly unusual story (step-siblings, harem, evil supernatural conspiracy etc), but it has a well-constructed narrative which manages to remain internally coherent, more or less.

Graphics are a bit simplistic (not sure of the graphics engine used to generate them), and I was expecting to dislike them, but the author manages to work within their limitations to extract a fair bit of humour and sufficient differentiation between characters to give them some personality.

On the basis of this I will try the author's new game. Well done.

Once in a Lifetime was initially a game I wasn't going to play, but I am glad I decided to give it a chance.
It's well written, with a sense of humour and fun that doesn't subtract from the overall plot but enhances it. Which will have you invested in the plot over the "plot" near the end.

H-scenes
Overall the animations and statics are exceedingly well done. The "worst" complaint you will find is the occasional minor clipping here and there.
Mostly vanilla in terms of kink variety, but enjoyable nonetheless

In conclusion: worth all the praise it gets, and a fun one to enjoy for a few hours of time

One of the most memorable games on here. I'm not into Honey Select graphics, but the story and especially the humor elevate it to something special. The jokes and expressions are so well delivered.

The characters are another strong point. Their personalities are varied giving them a distinct identity, and they're also easy to sympathize with because of relatable motivations and responses.

The sex scenes were okayish. To proceed some H-scenes you'll have to click a "Faster" button and that's not the most immersive, so there's room for improvement.


Definitely a recommendation for just about anyone. Good characters, story and humor - you won't be disappointed.
