VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Once in a Lifetime [v1.0] [Caribdis]

Do you know why Caribids games have so many reviews? because it touches us, even though it already has due recognition, you want to leave your review to talk about the game, to praise it, because it is deserved, with so many milking devs and abandoned games, it's refreshing to have this game.
The humor in this game is very well done, it's not cringe, it has excellent comic timing, good character, hot sex scenes, INCEST, NO 9999 side character that no one cares.
Give it a chance, with an open heart and I guarantee you won't regret it

Still the best design of girls ( Lauren and Carla for me ) in these type of games, story was fun too. Just would have liked a bit of a longer ending with the girls and their life after. Lots of these stories just end with the climax and leave once its done. The stuff that comes after, especially the deepening of connections and the eventual 'results' should be explored more.

Brilliant game, though I have to admit I didn't care much for the main "family" LIs. It took a little while to get going but you could really tell the author found his footing as the game's development went on. The level of polish increased as the game continued (even to the point of finally fixing the MC's terrible hair). The story is solid and sincere, with lots of variety in location and characters. The absurdist humor also does a LOT to keep the game from getting stale. I definitely recommend trying it out if you're a fan of eternum and waiting for the next update.

Note: I did play through with the mod.

Pros:
- For a porn, it has great writing and the story is very compelling and develops where it is quite captivating, like I was personally looking forward to see its development than relationship dynamics sometimes, haha.
- Characters are written and designed in unique ways.
- Most of the main cast of characters' models are designed well.
- Nice animations.
- Multiple endings.
- Great amount of linear content, although players do take decisions on certain things quite often, it's not just a slideshow lol.
- This games absolutely nails humor, it uses goofy humor very often and that is done through visual, written, or audio (sound FXs) cues. Keep an eye on the background! You might miss funny moments if you don't.
- Throughout the story you will encounter a lot of different genres of storytelling such as horror, comedy, adventure, and more!

Take it how you want it:
- Sometimes there is a lack of sound, most sound heard is from sound effects with some occasional music.

Cons:
- Background rendering seems really weird and low quality, in contrast to the quality of the girls you encounter. Those asset look like something from an early 2000s video game.
- Generic Ren'Py UI

Overall rating: 4.5/5. As the Cons are really minor for a 5 year old game.
Personally, Lauren had my desire, but Judie had my heart for how adorable she is.

The game is very good. Recommended.

Pros -
1. The overall writing. The plot is compelling and becomes very interesting towards the end.
2. The characters are well written and have unique personalities.
3. The character models are decent looking.
4. The rendering seems to be well done overall. No noticable drop in quality at any point.
5. Good amount of content.
6. Nicely looking CGI animated renders in between.
7. The lore and drama keeps on getting interesting toward the end.
8. Multiple endings for your character as per your decision.
9. The standout point of the game for me is the goofy humour. I literally laughed out loud on several occasions. The MC has quite a charming personality which you like playing as.

Cons -
1. The game starts out as usual setup with no surprises. 2 sisters(step) and a young mother with no father in scene. Would have loved if the setup was something different and unique.
2. The UI is very generic and bland looking. Could have a better design.
3. Although the ending was a different, it seemed like a cop out. Could have used a different setup unique to each character personality.

Personally I would heartily recommend it to anyone if you are looking for a good game to play for a day or two. The humour itself kept me entertained and the plot kept me engaged. The scary parts of the story were very well done (it seems the developer is a cinephile who likes horror movies). Would check out his other work too.

Overall rating = 4.5/5 stars.

Great intriguing story line, beautiful models and graphics, great sex scenes, no bugs or glitches that I could find. Very funny as well. No issues with translations/errors in the text. Great ending. No issues from start to finish.

Excellent anime style storytelling, characters, horror, comedy and plot twists, and more importantly Complete!. Well worth the time to play, as it is not a grind.
Even with it being on f95, no need to suspend critical thinking too much, to imagine the erotic scenes fitting into the story.

Its a Masterpiece, truly one of the best VN you can play.
The story is nice the visuals very good (even though its a 5 years old...)
The Mc is quite good and the LIs (they are 2 main li (the sisters) in my opinion and 5 more extra optional LIs and they are all very beautiful and interesting...
The soundtrack is very good too and the humor is great ... i chuckled many times during the game play.
The ending is also very good and satisfying and in my opinion at least the true and main ending is the Harem Path if someone want to complete all the points for an LI then he must have open some extra paths for other lis if not then he cant gather all points (i manage to gather all points for lauren for example but i could do it only after opened the other paths.)
Nonetheless i truly enjoyed the game.
If i find the game on the steam someday, im gonna buy it.

Funny, Romantic and magnificent, Some unpolished parts early on but improves as it goes, one of the best I even seen. The humor is really good, the player's character has actual personality and feels likable which makes it feel organic. The main quest is intriguing with horror elements that made me jump out the chair a time or two. Love Cardibis

One of the best of the genre i've ever played, good story, good chars (some are very funny) and endings. The animations and renders are top notch. Had to leave a review. And always good to have a harem ending.

The best I've ever played. Excellent in nearly every circumstance. My one and only gripe is the first time I played. I suddenly noticed halfway through I was cut off from over half of the romance paths. That felt off, the relationships hadn't noticeably changed, either way I guess I screwed up so bad the girls secretly hated the MC. (LOL)

When I played through a second time, this way around using a walkthrough mod, it was simply magnificent. 10/10 pacing, babes, thrills, action and occasionally dread. It has it all.

In the end I suppose the problem was me, but I didn't make many different choices. Which leads me to believe the creator didn't realize how difficult getting any where near the best ending was without a guide. Who knows, still phenomenal.

At first I wasnt expecting much of it but damn its a really good story and the ending with that song is really nice came for the game and stay for the plot it manage to make me laught in some parts and that something i didnt expectet for an adult game

This game is truly incredible, it isn't just an adult game, it is an emotional adventure with some of the best writing and humor in any adult game, The story is engaging and always interesting, The LIs are all incredible, and some of the best written I have ever seen, by the end you feel attached to every single one, this game will always have a special place in my heart, Vote Stabby Mike for president, 10/10 everyone should play this.

It was an amazing game, I played with the Walkthrough mod and I'm not usually into VN's but this one really took me away. It was very well constructed and the story was very well written, one of the few times I've felt compelled to write a review also.

The writing isn't that great, but everything else makes up for it.

The girls were super hot, especially Lauren
MC was cool, all the girls had their own unique personality
The animations are top tier, I think they're the best sex scenes I have ever seen in a game, they're very fluid and sound effects are on point
Just wished the ending was not super rushed, but still was super happy by the way it finished

Big minus for codes and puzzles, porn game should be um hands free in my opinion. Nice graphics for what Illusion assets, but also weird story. So for me B- oh wait all this work and a bunch of paths lost.. yeah im done.. F grade F!

Once in a Lifetime has an amazing story that really drags you in, with some LIs to match. I love the renders which get better the further you get into the game.

10/10 would vote for President Stabb irl if I could.

Best VN I've ever played. i actually enjoyed all the way through without skipping. story was interesting and comprehensive. renders and cut scenes are high quality and aren't static or low fps like most VN on the internet. def gonna be supporting this creator. i recommend using the walkthrough for the best experience.

The game is fantastic with stunning animations that bring every scene to life. A truly immersive experience, though it could use a bit more variety in gameplay to keep things fresh. So I'm happy to say that is a 5out of 5 game.
