VN WIP Onee-san x SHUFFLE translation project (and possibly Baku Ane 1 & 2)

Alright, so first things first. Me and a couple fellow friends are currently in the middle of a company wide restructuring at our full time job, which means that we're both out of a job for the next 6 or so months. Now, this doesn't mean much for me, as I did get a decent severance package, savings and am all but guaranteed to be rehired in the next six months.

However, my colleague got sacked earlier this year due to a different type of layoff. Given how the restructuring works, he will probably be rehired into the same company (for similar reasons to me) but his own severance package was nowhere near as big and he didn't have as much in savings due to not anticipating the change. He's been job hunting for a while, but due to the economic situation around here, getting more than a temporary job is kind of hard and his savings have been dwindling for a while.

However, in the meantime, he revived an old project we both attempted to start in 2021 to translate all Atelier-Kaguya Visual Novels that we considered popular enough and had not been picked up by other translators (or were incomplete, or machine translated and not very good).

While we both abandoned the project early on because our day jobs got in the way back then, now that both of us no longer have a desk job, we're going back to try and finish the project and possibly even try and finish Taihen's Baku Ane 2 translation (assuming it hasn't been abandoned).

He's the main translator in charge of confirming whether the translation is right or not. Since he's unlikely to be employed full-time anytime soon (and neither of us are likely to find immediate employment at the same time anyways) we're currently dedicating ourselves to this project and making sure it actually comes out this time.

We anticipate that, realistically, we should have the translation somewhere between mid March and early April at the latest.

However, due to the fact that none of us have our day jobs anymore, this time I'd like to ask all of you (who are willing) if you can contribute. He's setting up a Patreon in the coming days and will upload preliminary patches that are ready in the coming weeks leading up to Valentine's Day in February and possibly earlier.

He's rarely active on Reddit, so if you message him, it may be a while before he answers. Any inquiries you may have are best directed at me since I'm far more active online.

As for any cost to the whole ordeal? We're hoping to just raise enough he no longer has to worry about eating what's left of his savings or having to find a part-time job before he's rehired. We don't exactly live somewhere very expensive either (like, not at all, otherwise his savings would've dried up long ago).

So... I guess that's it. I will communicate with him regularly to ask him how he's going and whether he wants me to check on anything and I will use this account to upload some of the patches here as well.
