Looking for an open world game with a non-linear story.
ASCII graphics and text-based games are also welcome.
There should be a lot of content in the game.

I like the following NSFW games:
Degrees of Lewdity
LonaRPG

And the following SFW games:
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Nethack

Any recommendations?

Sounds like Black Souls fits the description. Well, I guess that depends on your definition of open world, but it's not linear, there's multiple endings, progression is open-ended, and the world features numerous locations.

For me,
Non-linear means that you can complete quests in different ways (in different order, by different methods, with different results).
Open world means that the main quests represents only a small part (less than 50%) of what is in the game's universe.

Thank you!

not sure if this is what you would want, but games by Yukari ?
Thief & Troll, Knight & Princess, Thief & Sword.

I do not recommend them (not played myself), just that they may fit this request?

From the description, this may be what I'm looking for.
For some unknown reason, I cannot run the games on my computer.

The quests in Black Souls are rather unorthodox. There's not quest/objective log or big arrow pointing you in the direction you need to go, what your objectives are mostly what you want them to be. For example, completing Dorothy's tasks unlocks her as a battle companion and a sex partner. If you want her as a battle companion, you must do her tasks, but if you're looking for sex, you could instead take her by force.

The main quest of ending A and B is about 30% of the game. Like if you did a speedrun, doing the bare minimum, you'd see only about 30% of the game's content.
