Oh I agree, I would prefer to wait longer for a better game. Did they give a reason?
The main reason from their post is that GB wasn't confident in their writing for the step 2 moments portraying it well so they were overthinking. Which led to the amount of work they wanted to be done by 2024 didn't get finished (though it was only by a moment and a half).
P.S. What I'm reading from is on their Patreon for anyone to read if you want to know more (I'm not that good at explaining)

Ah I didn't read the patreon. I always forget that people also, put publicly viewable stuff on there. You summarised it quite nicely. Thankfully the reason is nothing too bad.

I will always support a dev that is willing to delay their games if they feel the need to do so. It is their medium, their story to tell. And im sure it will turn out great.

A stew will only have it's complex taste if allowed to simmer. As one who decided to not touch the game until full release, i hope the aforementioned cooking time will be enough, but if it needs that extra hour to reach perfection, i will gladly wait.
