VN - Ren'Py - Our Red String [Ch.13.3.4] [Eva Kiss]

This will be a short review, I'll post a longer one when the game's complete. I personally don't play incomplete games, but still tried it out cause of the previous game by the dev.
Pros:
Art: 8/10 . It's really beautiful and a huge step up from the previous game.
Writing: 8/10 Both the dialogues and sex scenes are well written.
One more thing, I really appreciate that the dev has tried something new with the simultaneous multiple protagonists.

Cons:
This is a major thing, I honestly don't understand the lack of outfits in the game, same was the problem with the previous one. There is very less variety in the clothes of all the characters and it makes seeing them boring after a while. Same goes with their expressions.
And although I did appreciate the fact of going with multiple protags, personally for me it creates awkward situations some times. Like while playing with Lena, you have the option to heat things up with your coworker who's a nice guy. But from the male protag's perspective, it seems ntrish and weird. But again, it's me, probably other people don't feel the same.

Incredibly good game. Hot girls, interesting choices and lots of spicyness. I'm hoping that there will be lots of different paths and different endings, building on whats already out there at the moment. Definitly looking forward to upcoming content!

The vision of the author Evakiss is really grandiouse in scale, I can see that. The previous game was literally perfect in every way and the author will try to surpass himself/herself. And it may be possible in terms of complexity of storyline and different outcomes, but you can't really relate to your 2 main characters becasue of constant jumping between them. I'm sorry but that's a fact. The game would be better if it had only 1 character, but I understand the author wants to grow, improve and try something new. I just hope the next project will be more consistent in terms of pacing.

(review made after chapter 5) Wow! Once again I'm blown away by EvaKiss's writing! This time with the addition of more romance and mood setting music.

It transcends its genre as a sexy game and emerges as a powerful story that makes me cry (literal tears) at how beautiful some of the moments are. Particularly with the Ian x Lena route, where I'm convinced their connection goes beyond anything mundane. I had "Cigarettes After Sex - I" playing in my mind during their tender moments, with the way they stare into each other's eyes. They are two hurt souls tied together by the red string of fate.

Any criticisms I have are caused by the incompleteness of the story. For example, there are many flags that do result in consequences yet - you can string on (pun intended) as many lovers as you can logistically handle with both characters without any repercussion. Stat requirements are maybe too low. I almost met all the stat checks for all the different stats, and so did not have to pick "suboptimal" decisions due to specialization. Having higher requirements would force us to take branches and experience multiple play-throughs.

The content that I'm looking forward to the most are Lena x Axel and Lena x Seymour, as well as how Lena's music career progresses (the lyrics were great)!

Beautiful art, excellent writing; the story felt real and relatable, but still just extraordinary enough to keep it within the realm of fantasy. Can't wait for to play through future chapters of this visual novel.

Although this game remains true to the aesthetic found in GGGB, the dual protagonists failed to capture my imagination. The game seems unnecessarily complex, and dialogue seems long-winded at times.

Because of the success of GGGB this game is always going to be compared, unfortunately, in my opinion, it falls short of the standard previously established.

The developer is still obviously immensely talented and has contributed to the lewd games landscape, but ORS didn't capture my imagination.

Hand down the best game I have played. And I have played them all.

This is one of the game with engages you from the get go.
The arts are wonderful, and the writing is great. One of the game in which you can feel the intensity building.

I Can't RECOMMEND this game enough. This has got to be one of my favorite adult games I've ever played.
Absolutely Amazing Dual Protagnists, Superb Characters, Interesting Narrative with how both the 'worlds' collide together and how every interaction and choice leads to a different outcome.
Love that the stat systems adds to the gameplay, and isn't grindy at all.
Love the UI , one of the best UI's in VNs.
And Absolutely cherish the Story in making, I hope to sink deeper into this world and despite it being very naughty, it is a very grounded heartfelt tale and thats something very rare and special.
I'd give this a 10 if I could, but yeah, Truly an amazing Experience.

I normally do not review a half finished game but after the latest update for a low budget 2d game without any animation, I changed my mind so here it is.

The biggest problem of this game is the attribute system. Characters have 6 notable attribute and your decisions in game affect the points of your attribute. TBH, I feel this to be a good design from the start but immediately I find myself lack of guidance of which choice would reward which attribute. The worst part of this system is that players would feel penalized and frustrated when later in the story you would be blocked out of a scene by your attribute points. I understand the motive of the point system to encourage players for different approach but the lack of information and design fails spectacularly. How am I supposed to know at such point later your would need x point for x attribute? That is just very poorly thought and terribly designed. I did use console command to unlock all the possible scenes but that completely defies the purpose of the attribute system and we are better off without it. There are many ways to enhance the replayability of this type of games, this is the worst way to do it.

For a low budget 2d game without any kind of animation, I found the sex scene is well below average and the story either unoriginal (love triangle etc) or laughable( Ian has erection problem). It's more like a teenager play compared to the taste of adults.

This game is my go-to example of a game I started playing for pr0ns, but stayed for plot.
I really enjoyed the unique dynamic of having 2 protagonists (that you can make hook up lol) and how each protag has an accompanying supporting cast that interweave with each other in the story. I really enjoyed seeing characters close to one protag show up in the story of another! Makes it a whole other level of compelling when YOU control both protags lol.
The characters themselves are just so damn likeable! They're well written and relatable! They really give Our Red Strings its life.

This game is great so far, really looking forward to its completion.

Not surprisingly, the supporting role (Cindy) is more beautiful than the heroine (Lena), haha...
I hope Cindy will have more plots in the future...So far, only nude photos have been taken.

What I don't like about this game is the dual perspective, I only like the only MC perspective.
This kind of gameplay that can control other characters does not have a good sense of substitution, and it feels like you are playing with yourself...Think about the male lead is you, and the female lead is also you. Actually, the person you want to fuck is yourself?

I also hate the heroine's perspective. I don't like the erotic game where MC is a woman...The reason should be understood by many people...be fucked.
Although I don't let Lena be fucked by men other than MC in this game, I still don't like this kind of NTR.

According to my feelings, I should give 3 stars, but I am so obsessed with Cindy, she is so charming, I give 1 more star for a total of 4 stars.

Quality stuff and deserves a rating from me. Absolutely love the graphics in the game, dashboard is slick, just like the gameplay and options. Music fit the scenes well and no annoying SFX. Just a game I actually do play. The game does not feel rushed like most games on this website. well done developers!

This is a weird one, it's a bit personal preference, if it was a 10 point scale it'd be a 7 not a 6.
I do really like the art in this game and the plot and the rest, it's got good qualities. I get the higher ratings.
My main issue is it's going for a level of complexity and effort that's higher than I think makes a game with fap'ing as a significant goal fun. I do greatly appreciate the walkthrough but at some point it still starts to feel like work to play and track.
Definitely a YMMV though. Me, I'll just hold out for a convenient cg rip.

the story of all characters must be further extended because it is interesting to make the MC and FMC a harem, the storyline is good, but it will be even more interesting if the supporting characters are added to make the fans curious of Our Red String. however, it's a good game and i loved it

A linear narrative adult dating sim VN with plenty of choices regarding relationships and character development accompanied by an excellently drawn art style.

The story follows two male and female main characters whose stories are intertwined through their lives and the relationships they form and develop in a true to a real-life setting. The writing and dialogue are very well written but have a slow pace with its slow build-up and character development as well as its realistic approach to depicting and featuring everyday life situations, romance, and simple daily city-life interaction in general.

Overall a quality adult VN, but it might not suit people who are looking for an overexaggerated quick gratification VN with plenty of pornographic content or simply uninterested in a slow real life-like dating sim visual novel.

Excellent really enjoyed it. Loved the artwork, the writing, fell in love with very character. Wished there were a little more animations, not just for the sex but during flirting/dancing. Even with all the saves, I still end up choosing to play from the start(4th playthrough now).
Really loved it(sincerely) waiting for next updates.
P.s Please don't end the game anytime soon.

Rated this as good, only because it's not yet finished. If the updates continue to come regularly at such quality it will undoubtedly deserve the excellent mark as much as any other excellent rated game on this site.

A visual novel for western audiences, with western art and heart. I especially enjoy the dynamic at play between the different characters and how their paths intersect and often intertwine in sometimes predictable but always interesting and exciting fashion.

A game to follow and a game developer who, i hope, will give us such goodness for a long time to come. Highly recommened. If you are looking for quality content, look no further than EvaKiss' works.

I think the differential of Our Red String is the system with two protagonists living at the same time, it ends up providing the same scene sometimes, but in different points of view and honestly I liked this mechanics, The graphics are good and the game adopts the description of movements or situations for the economy of an even greater versatility of images, perhaps this last factor bothers you, but it is not exactly a problem, the protagonists are interesting, as well as their choices have medium consequences, obviously still maintaining some unchanging points . The game performs well the rest of the things it proposes to do and mainly practically has no bugs.

Below are my grades for each category, where 10 is the highest grade:
Graphics: 10;
History: 10;
Plot: 9;
Character development: 10;

Verdict: It is worth playing, the good work in the execution outweighs the negative points.

The last game, has been the only Female protag game I have ever enjoyed, I had alot of choice.
This game has both, and it really works well. this game again has alot of choice, and great art. this is an actual story and not a quick fuck anything that moves (though you can;D).
There is quality in this game, even if the genre isn't your style.

Very slow start, many dumb stereotypes and full of drama that you find in real life. Its like watching a fucking 18+ soap opera. We play these games because we want something different, not the same bullshit we deal with irl.
