Identify Out of curiosity, what was the original "phone" game?

I don't mean a game you play on your phone, I mean the original game where the story was told completely through a simulated cell phone interface, which spawned about a million imitators and successors. I feel like I was aware of that first game when it came out, but I can't remember it now.

Doesn't seem right. A review from one day after it was originally uploaded says, "These netorase / netorare phone games spring up like mushrooms lately and even though I like the concept, this isn't one of the better ones." I doubt a swarm of imitators could've popped up that fast.

I think you're probably right that this was the first popular one that got a lot of attention and spawned the swarm of imitators. Or at the very least, the first one I was aware of. None of the early reviews are talking about it like it's just one of many phone games.
