Sometimes I replay specific parts of games or AVNs that I played before, and this one is not exception. But in this one specifically every time I replay a part of it I notice something that either foreshadows something that now I know what it was, or shows something that makes this game confusing and seems like a plot hole, but because this AVN is hell of confusing as it is and tends to explain things 30 chapters later I don't usually consider them plot holes until they are proven to be.

Now, ¿Why I'm writing this then?, because I found one of those that I don't know if it's a plot hole or not and it's a pretty old one at that. So, I will explain what I remember about the rules for this one and hope someone here actually knows the answer.

I feel like the author either forgot their own rule or changed it at some point and never explained how it changed.

I have two suspicions here.

I'm on my own replay at the moment, and it keeps striking me how many things are introduced so early--and how many of them are yet unexplained. With the "real" story only beginning now, there's still a lot to be unraveled.

Haha, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

When I set out to make this particularly strange brand of smut, from day 1 I wanted it to be for your heart-boner as much as for what's in your pants.

Sorry about the following wall of text, I think you brought up a really good point.

You're right that it's a bit of a slow burn as far as h-content goes but that's for two important reasons and I think you'll understand why:

1) I want the first h-event for each girl to be very significant both emotionally and in terms of their plot. Part of that is building tension until it's ready to explode, but another is to make it as impactful on the reader as possible.

Some of my absolutely favorite VNs have some pretty god awful sex scenes that feel like they're complete after thoughts, forced upon the creators by their producers (*Cough* Muv Luv *Cough*). That's something I really want to avoid by making the physical intimacy a key part of the relationship between those characters.

The only downside is that takes some establishing to make work, thus the apparent dry spell of h-content. If you've played Chapter 15, the ending scene with Sarah really shows what I'm trying to do with every girl (in their own unique way, of course).

2) I actually want to tie most of the h-content in the game to the upcoming gameplay mechanics. In the adventure segments and in other places you'll have opportunities to connect to the girls and build your relationships with them as CJ.

Or not.

I want the player to be able to pick and choose what h-content they receive. Want to go full Leah route? Sure.

Want Vic and Ashley? Go for it.

Feel like having the whole harem experience? Absolutely. But I want that to be your choice.

The currently released content is what I would consider "mandatory" content, while each girls arc will be somewhat like a very long, time gated side quest that's rewarding but is ultimately optional.
Because it's mandatory content, I didn't want to start shoving h-content down the players throat lest I contradict that player choice philosophy I just outlined.

Anyway, sorry again for the word vomit. I hope that helped explain everything a bit.

In other news, here's some of what I was working on over the weekend! Dialogue writing is going ahead at a good rate and I made a few more lewds just to keep things interesting.

OK... first I'm gonna answer your question, then I'm gonna write something that I HAVE to say after reading that old post from the author.

1. You can't avoid the parts where you "play" as the girls, but you never actually play as them, you just see their points of view for a little while.

2. No sigle girl routes, this game is mandatory harem.

Now, what I need to say about this:

¡¡HOLY SHIT!!, I didn't know that this post from story anon existed, ¿¡And it was 5 YEARS AGO!?. Wow, their original plan has faced serious difficulties from the looks of it. I mean, as far as I know the scene that was shown in those pics isn't even in the game, even after all these years.

You should ignore what was said at the earlier stages of the game. This is basically a visual novel, and it doesn't have real choices for what I know. It can't have them, the whole plot of the game revolves around CJ and the girls being all together (harem or polycule in this case), I can't see any way in which the author could make all we have seen so far optional. And the only choices the game have are basically something like "¿do you want extra content?": "Yes" "No".

The game so far have one small test of what the battle system could be someday in the future, but after that one time, it was never seen again. And the "exploration" is more like an additional content viewer where you decide if you want to see the additional content or just move on with the plot. Story anon decided to focus first in releasing the story and then add the things he said back then like the battle system, or animated sex scenes (just 4 or 5 of them are currently animated), but considering that that's supposed to happen once the story is done and we are halfway through after 5 years I'd say it's gonna take a while to get there (at least the battle system will, the sex scenes are getting animations at random updates, that's why some are already animated).

If you want a really good (but also very confusing and convoluted at times) story focus visual novel then go for it, otherwise...

Oh, and if you want lo leave the game because of something really stupid and weird that happens at the beginning of the game, don't get discouraged from it, it will all make actual sense in time, even the stupidest things in this game are a plot device later on.

That scene is absolutely in the game, it's Jaime being envious of the figures of the other girls.
In what chapter? I tried to look for it with the skip button before commenting but I couldn't find it.

Ok, I take it back, it is in the game, I found it. It had to be one of those "additional contents" from the earlier stages that I did not see because it is attached to a conversation in a specific area. Thanks for correcting me on that one.

i mean like after progressing the story for a certain character the story would give you a lot of sex scenes with her like in once in a lifetime or eternum

This game is unique in that regard, it focus more on the story and less in the sex. Because of that It's quite common to see an update without sex scenes, unlike most games on this site, which is why there are gaps in the gallery with 3 or 4 chapters between scenes. Also, only a couple of them are animated so far. Animations are being added randomly through the updates.

If you only want to know about quantity there is a decent amount in the gallery, but like I mention before, only a few of them are animated.

Also "a lot of scenes like in eternum" you say... name one character in eternum with more than 4 sex scenes in total.

Just be prepared that it takes some time until the lewds ramp up but become more and more frequent over time, if youre not interested in the story at all, i wouldnt advise playing it only for the lewds tho. The lewds are good but only really together with the story.

I takes longer compared to games like eternum as all the dumb pre-fucking lewds (handjobs, tightjobs, whateverjobs) are skipped and it usually starts with fucking (as it should be) with every girl once they take that step.

how's the game on steam deck?
No idea on Steam Deck since I don't own one, but it runs fine on Linux in Wine (upstream of Proton), so it probably runs on Steam Deck. My only issue is it locks up if I click out of it as a lot of Unity games via Wine do for me.

That's weird, we do not suspend the game while it's in background, only on android but that's because Unity does that itself.

Yeah, I assume it's not a OoT thing. It's a Unity+Wine thing. I've seen the problem on three different Linux installations including Arch and Ubuntu. I play exclusively on Linux and every other type of game I play works fine. It's just Unity games I play via Wine. And to clarify, it doesn't freeze: it becomes unresponsive to mouse and keyboard.

EDIT: I'm not expecting troubleshooting for this. It's a bug in either Unity, Wine, or Gnome that I've dealt with for 2 years. It's not something for Story Anon et al to fix, and it's not crippling. Proton on Steam Deck likely works fine.

Yeah, I've had the described bug on Wine too, but not on ProtonGE, so I'd assume Valve's version of Proton on Steam Deck works fine too. I don't really remember encountering this bug on other Unity games though.

The unresponsive to mouse/keyboard is intended unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean. Keyboard obviously you don't want window that's not focused to get input and as for mouse I specifically implemented for left click as far as I remember so that you can return focus to window by clicking anywhere not on UI. I've seen people stream VN games and do weird stuff like clicking on game window and then rolling back or right clicking and then closing menu. I find that just not advancing from click on window when it's not focused is just more convenient. But I'm not sure if that's what you're describing.

At least in my case Out of Touch was staying unresponsive to any input even after switching back to game (like alt-tabbing), until I restart the game entirely. But as I said this bug is not present on Proton-GE, so it's probably not a priority to fix

Ok, I see what you mean, yes, that shouldn't be the case. I don't think this is fixable anyway, since the bug is likely on wine side. The fact that it only breaks on unity games is likely because unity relies on some particular windows behaviour which wine doesn't reproduce. It might fix itself or not when we upgrade engine, but the bug is definitely in wine.

I've noticed it's not every Unity game. But I haven't really known a way to tell what version a given game is, so I haven't tracked if any given version is okay. Upgrading may fix it.
