Loved the first game, but just couldn't find the time to play the sequel, until now. At the one hand the game is still very good, nice graphics, girls, and animations. At the other hand, I struggled to finish it.
Story: The story feels a lot weaker this time around. The first game had an element of exploration and made you feel like you were slowly mapping out the island. Here everything starts unlocked, and you feel like you do post-game content. There is very little structure.
The character drama also felt rather poor. In the first game every girl tried to find a place in the world outside of the beauty pageant. In this game some characters have a struggle, but it feels very forced.
The main antagonist is Scarlett. I think her concept was a good idea, but her
felt very forced and rushed. Character growth did not feel earned.
Besides, some of the girls from the first game aren't here for the sequel (except for some zoom conversations), if one of them was your favorites, you are shit out of luck.
They have a few other new girls but none of them felt as interesting as the originals.
Art: It is good and the animation is a nice extra. Although you can tell the new girls are more finely drawn (less coarse linework) and the posing feels a bit stiff. The protagonist looks like a gorilla with how he holds his arms.
Sex: Honestly the biggest let down. They tease a threesome with Grace and Rachel the entire game but they never deliver. That was my biggest wish from PL1, and they blew it. The girls don't get equal love either. Some of them get 4 scenes, while others get 2. Even some of the new girls don't get much love, even though they're the ones that deserve scenes the most. I assume the patreon polls influenced that.
The content itself is decent and if you liked the scenes from the original, I think the sequel delivers. There is little exploration of kinks.
Then there are just some weird omissions. Like they rushed the game. The game sets up a lesbian romance between
. But then it never matures. The game is over before you finish that story.
Overal it feels less like a sequel, and more like a DLC for the original. Honestly, I would've preferred a DLC that would just give you more content with every girl.
