VN - Ren'Py - Passions Playground [v0.3.0] [Candylight Studio]

Version 0.3.0 reviewed.

Silly story about a hunky guy who buys a library ( a library?) and who is also being stalked by his ex girlfriend. I only played after this part as I couldn't bare the story any longer. So this is based on only what I saw during the thirty or so minutes I played.

Pros:

1- Beautiful renders and sets. Real quality.

2- Nice looking characters. The females were quite attractive. I really liked Ines..

3- Decent sex animations.

Cons:

1- Silly story. Why would the MC, who looks like a linebacker, buy a library? Can you even buy a library? Aren't these owned by the city?

2- An abundance of grammatical errors. Unsure why this wasn't proofread. There are so many errors that it became comical.

3- All the woman dress like sluts. I get that it's the devs choice to have the females look like hookers, and I love a good looking woman as much as the next person, but it just doesn't work for me here.

Final verdict - Limp biscuit

The nice renders and sexy woman are the big positive here and will be the main reason why anyone likes this game. The game really falls flat in the writing and dialogue departments, which in my humble opinion, is just as important in an AVN.

The dev obviously has skill with the visual side of things. My suggestion would be to get help with the writing and proofreading. It is sorely needed.

Well done! Definitely have to play through a couple times to see all the routes. High quality scenes with choices awesomeness! The story plot wasn't half bad either. A roller coaster of emotion! Wouldn't min a scene gallery to make sure we didn't miss anything. Can't wait for more! ty!

I really think people are a bit too strict with the rating , this game nails the important stuff which are the models and animations , the main girl is one the best i have ever seen with a perfect body and very cute face. , i hope to see a lot more of her. The dialogue flows nicely and choices matter with different paths . Overall its still early and there is some refining to be done but very nice start ,

This review is for a very early release of this AVN.

The renders of the girls, MC, and environments look great and are really easy on the eyes. The only thing that stood out is the apartment, which comes across more like a hotel room, so a bit of a redesign there would help. The writing so far is solid, flows well, and makes the short playtime pretty enjoyable.

At this stage, there’s no music or sound design, which I hope gets added in future updates to enhance immersion. Since the game is listed as a dating sim, it’s hard to know whether there will be a larger narrative or antagonist to drive the story forward.

The initial release doesn’t offer much content—about 10 - 15 minutes of playtime—so I would like to see future updates include significantly more.

Overall, this is a promising start, but it’s still too early to tell where the game will go. For now, I’m giving it 3 stars. If future updates add more substantial content, music, and a clearer story direction, I’ll be happy to revisit and adjust my rating accordingly.

1. Very good looking models and LIs
2. General world visuals and renders are really impressively detailed and have high fidelity.
3. Animations are impressive, smooth and have high quality, albeit short in duration.
4. Writing is not bad, its not Shakespear but conveys the message and everything it needs to. Its structured and reads well.
5. Choices have immediate impact, I always appreciate that, unlike only seeing the result much later.
6. Some decent H-content to start off with and some kinks are nicely done like creampie, deepthroat and the like.

1. Saving can be a little quicker if the right click brings up the save page.
2. No music, ambient, environment or lewd sounds at all, very disappointing, particularly for immersion.
3. Some spelling mistakes here and there, grammatical errors, but nothing major.
4. While dialogue isn't bad, its sometime a bit "primitive" and shallow, lacks finesse and class and goes against the visual quality.
5. Minor inconsistencies in dialogue vs visuals, like "tears welled up in her eyes" but the visuals show nothing of the sort, not big deal, read comments.
6. The story is nothing profound or very interesting really, but its still early days so not exactly a con either. The ex-wife angle could be interesting.
7. Fairly short, but at least whats there is good quality. Though it can't be a gauged 100% with the amount of content here.

OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS & FINAL REMARKS:

NOTE: The following remarks are my personal opinions and thoughts, which may provide more context and could be useful to the developer. (Read them or don't)

• Per Cons of inconsistencies like her eyes welling up with tears yet the visual scene shows a normal face, no running makeup or red eyes, snot and tears all missing after a rough deep throat. This is not a deal breaker, but for immersion it would be nice to include it.
• The same can be said about little details, while the AVNs fidelity is great and its nicely done, small details like saliva, tears, running makeup, lube, precum, sweat are all nice details to add to scenes and really pushes that professional and sexy vibe/immersion sought after in AVNs. Its particularly disappointing when you have such a good and polished game that doesn't go that extra mile like this one.
• As per con, the writing/dialogue is not horrible but also does have some seriously stupid moments like while the MC is banging Ines, the comments are kinda dull, this could be done on purpose as lizard brain kinda is pretty much all that goes on during those moments, and its a little bit of a nitpick from my side, but not a deal breaker.
• While kinks so far seem fairly straight forward "vanilla" stuff, I am hoping that the developer introduces some more.
• Something I found odd was the MCs room/apartment. Entering looks like a narrow, low door, one youd expect in a cabin on a ship, it immediately enters the MCs room, not a living room. I get it could be a bachelors pad, but seriously, the whole layout and all looks like a bedroom with on-suite bathroom...I think the developer should look into inconsistencies like that...just saying...

TLDR:

Impressive AVN and does very well on the visual side of things, writing is not bad, but lacks a certain quality. Story is very vanilla and nothing interesting right now. Lack of and sounds in the game is rather disappointing. Content is not a lot really, but not bad and good quality, hopefully future updates will provide decent amounts per iteration.

In terms of story it's hard to judge right now, since this is just the first release and there is not a lot of content. But all the girls introduced so far look really good and both the renders an animations are very well done.
