VN - Ren'Py - Onhold - Path To Dominion [v0.3.3] [DarkSummerLeaf]

A common trope in amateur writers (not that I am a writer at all) is that each element in their story is treated as having equal levels of significance. One of the key elements that an editor brings to a written piece is that they can view the project from outside of the creative process and key into that stuff which is important for the story, and which stuff isn't. The writer can then take that feedback and rework the piece back and forth until the story is clean to give more weight to the important stuff, and less to the unimportant. This game needs an editor and badly.

The writing is fine-- although a bit overly edgy for my personal taste, the characterizations are fun, and if your going to do the edgy protagonist this is a solid version. The part I cannot get over is the page upon page of text. Much of it redundant and even more of it just generally poorly paced. I don't think all adult games need to be pure porn scenes with just a tiny plot strining them together, I also think its ok for a porn game to have a very modest amount of actual porn. The issue here is just so poorly paced that at some point I went through another half hour of wild dialogue and my hand hurts from clickthrough. There are updates showing 30k words added, Checking the last 20 pages the words averaged about 12 or so per click, thats a two thousand five hundred click through update. There is a ton of work which went into this so I give it props and more credit than I want to, but there are just sooo many words for the format. I can read giant essays or fanfic stories or just scientific articles but they are formatted in paragraphs, clicking through sentnce by sentence is agony after a stretch, I literally rebound my scroll wheel to left click just to ease up on the clicking.

If you as a player want a higher volume of "action" per unit of reading this would be closer to a 1-2 star if you really resonate with the character, or the humor it's probably a 4. Just based on effort and the visual style (which is very nice) it can't be lower than a 3 but man alive it needs an editing pass. Mark Twain once said, "if I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter" and its very applicable here, I also bet that man didn't expect to be quoted on an anime porn game but here we are.

Good stuff. Do like a good villain protagonist though I'm not sure if it's strictly headed in that direction. Here's hoping some of the dommy mommies get buttfucked though. Give them a nice attitude adjustment.

The story begins, with you being the laughingstock after failing miserably at a high-level mission at August City's prestigious wizarding/combat school.

Mc suffering humiliation on both sides, either at school or at home with his adoptive mother, and his son "kenta" who lives fucking with his life, the guy is such a son of a bitch that he steals his girlfriend, that bitch too. Anyway, things go south when his brother "kenta" tries to sell him into slavery to a black criminal gang he owed money to. but that was, before the 0.3.2 update, now kenta kills you in a dark alley, sorry for putting this here dev, but the fact that kenta tried to sell mc on the black market as a slave, was more impactful than him trying to murder the MC. I've seen it many times on this forum, but selling into slavery was the only one where you excelled with your work.

The MC's return after 8 months away, training with Sensei, was rewarding, he manages to stand out with his appearance, because most of the time the MC's appearance doesn't change much. and of course with Laura's help. Going from a beta male to an ultra sigma male, he is strong, intelligent, calm, sensitive and kind to his loved ones, but can be wild, aggressive, cunning or intimidating when he needs to be.
He is not your typical harem hunter or a simple 24/7 perverted clown.

This VN is really edgy, like the high school level that most of the VNs I play on this site lack. the magical story, demons, wars etc and a decent MC.

The DEV's effort during character creation, a lot of dedication, I saw Laura going from chubby to hot during the updates, Maki's new look, Laura going to the gym.

Anyway, this game has everything to be a success, I didn't understand the negative reviews that some of the players gave but I understand that not everyone has the same taste, after all I'm particularly fed up with VN lighthearted so when we see something like "Path to Domination" we feel included in a different niche than VN games.

One of the most underrated games on this site. Still needs some work but story, graphics and writing are amazing! The mc is likeable too so that's another plus++ for this game. Can't wait to see more of it in the future!

We can't even avoid(not skip) lis. Despite all the talk of change we rape* by our teacher. The game also has false choices. ie. choices with dead end. The info dump gets really annoying after a while.

Just incredible, amazing graphics, the girls look hot asf, actual story, and character development, the girls are not just some sluts they actually have feelings not some motionless bitch, and the characther just is badass deserved 5 out of 5

This game is great!

Everything you want in a good story.
1. It has a badass MC. Hes Alpha without being too edgy.

2. Well written unique characters with their own motivations. Each character has their own mannerisms, and dialogue that makes them feel different from other characters.

3. Worldbuilding, the author has created a world that seems interesting. Something that an avid fantasy reader like myself can sink my teeth into.

4. the sex scenes are decent, but standard for koikatsu. (although there are SOME koikatsu games with great sex scenes like: Twisted World).

All in all, a great VN that keeps me excited for updates!

Really loving the general vibe of the game. The story is kinda different than the ones you normally see, the way our character embraces his inner demons and comes out an absolute chad is just satisfying to see.

The game is still in the beginning stages, but already has a good chunk of content. It really is a good read and I recommend it to our fellow members if you are interested in a good story.

Overall I would surely and gladly give this a 5, and I am sure the future updates too will be good in both the story and the characterizations of the fellow LI's.

I never post on games. But I read the bad review and I have something to say. We don't like the same things. It's rubbish when the same people who go around liking generic plotlines give a gane like this bad ratings just because it's not what they like. No internal consistency? Random events? Cutting corners? Did you play the game?
This game promises nothing but delivers everything. Writing is good, graphics are great, characters are interesting. The bad thing is that there are a small number sex scenes. But too many sex scenes early can be a bad thing so am not anxious about it. The one thing that makes me mad about this game is that it's too short and makes me want more.
I've read lots of VN and this Dev's got balls like Mt. Everest to make a VN like this.
Stick to your passion! There's a bunch of us who still look forward to the future of this game!

I'm not exaggerating when I say this is a waste of your time.

The one thing that actually attracted me to this game to begin with was the different style, but even that is kind of a lie; the models in game look worse than in the previews and even then many secondary characters are just stock models in a completely different style and the contrast is very jarring and makes trying to establish such a unique style entirely pointless.

The sex scenes are very poorly animated and there's just no way I could get excited watching them.

The story and the worldbuilding is just nonsense with no internal consistency and just feels like random events strung together with no form of rythm or coherence. And that's ignoring most of the time that's just pointlessly drawn out exposition that ends up being irrelevant because it's never brought up again.

Honestly, this project had potential, but potential alone does not make an enjoyable game. If the developer just spent more love on actually sticking to the aesthetic style they were trying to go with rather than cutting corners; and if there was a whole more heaping of thoughtfulness put into the story and only included the minimum exposition and scenes necessary to tell the relevant story; rather than bore the player with rambling word dumps.... and if the sex scenes were just enjoyable at all, this could have been a great game.

Currently 0.3.1 (Visual Novel focused, due to sandbox in previous update, future updates focused VN, will updated the rating as update rolls out)

I'd never review any games on this site, till this game, this game kept on my radar, and i love it every second of it.

Prologue may start slow, Imean you do play RPG games before that has slow pacing in beginning right but it gets progressively better and better, MC can be a bitch, but that's what this game is for, and characters do look great, especially Sukebe-sensei because HOO BOY.

The gripe for this game as soon updates rolling out in coming months, hope to skip the "...", clicking 3 times through the ... can be annoying sometimes ahah, and add the warning to "Save the game" before it back to the menu on current updates.

But nontheless, 5 stars.

[0.3.2] despite the update itself was a tease from the next update, which is fine, this is getting some moves, 1 sex scene including Inori is fine by me. Finger's crossed for the next one in a month or so

I don't review games at all, but had to be an exception.

A really good visual novel with one of the best uses of English i've seen on this site, clever writing and dialogue that isn't annoying or cringe to read through, pretty good art and simple gameplay and most importantly good story.


Story: You are a loser that turns into alpha while also having the surname of Akatsuki (questionable choice of surname, but it doesn't ruin the atmosphere)

Pro:
-Great story
-Great character design
-Great 'replayability'
-Decent playtime even in it's very early stages of development
-Great sex scenes

Cons:
-Can be a bit too edgy at times
-Pretty short (about 3-4 hours if you really take your time to read through it), but i'll give it an exception for the amount of updates put, really great work.


Overall 5/5 BOMB and im looking forward to future updates!

I like it. I'd recommend it. Played during the partial remastering of the beginning. Plotline started off as a bit of a stretch, but it got interesting and continues to be interesting. 5/5, will be interesting to see how this develops.

Chapter 1 and two incredible great characters entertaining story and designs of the girls and the protagonist good also perfect duration I loved the bad it has almost no erotic scenes with 3 chapters and the main waifu has some scenes that are lousy now because two stars Well, simple chapter 3 becomes a sandbox and loses meaning, it ruins the game because that need to self-immolate your game, sir.

I'll definitely re-edit this place after the game develops a bit more

As far as I understand, there will be many fantasy genres in the game, especially submissive girl and domination mc.

I will evaluate the game only on mc and story for now

MC or Protagonist ✭✭✭✭✭ 5 stars - Forget all the mc you've ever played
this mc shows you many times how you can seduce him or make fun of him and play with him like a toy by deciphering the personality of the other person after talking to him once.
forget about the mcs you played before, who thought you were weak or pretended to be weak and fooled the people around you, this mc only makes you look strong enough to beat or at least not lose whoever you want.
Finally, I won't say much about the power of MC, but definitely understand this, you will definitely see a completely different MC, of course, you will not come across a strong MC like Thor, but be sure that you will enjoy it as if you have played a game of Thor or Marvel.


Story ✭✭✭✭ 4 stars - there is a lot of content in the story magic, demons, wars etc. but the good thing is that instead of listening to one character at a time, the giant tells you the story slowly and beautifully, sometimes with mc's mother, sometimes with his teacher, sometimes with one of the girls, so don't be intimidated because there are too many texts,
all helpful and tidy. written texts

This VN is really fucking edgy, like high school level of edginess during prologue and chapter 1. Thankfully the plot get better in chapter 2-3. Character designs is decent. The designs are good especially the body and hairstyle, but what I don't like is the eyes. Everyone have same types of eyes. Sharp, small, 30 degree tilt, the only different between everyone is size and pupil color. It just I personal taste I guess. The lack of H scene content is also what held this VN back, but this can be fix in the future.

Other than that, It's a fun read with good potential. But you have to go through slow as fuck pacing and info dump at the beginning. 7.5/10 Experience.

I have been watching this game for a long time and oh boy, the game is improving everyday, the renders are great, the plots are interesting and characters looks fine too. This is also not a full blown revenge story, the story is unique and interesting. The writing is decent, you won't have trouble understanding. The sandbox is simple and not a grind. You can see the developer is actually investing his time on this project. At times it may feels like this is a corruption game but it has alot of vanilla/wholesome moments. I did say try this game and see if it for you but here the warning earlier contents is not that great but from chapter 3 the game changes completely. If you of course enjoy the game, do try to support him in patreon or other places

The goods:

1. The badass male protagonist:
+ He's strong, smart, calm, sensitive and gentle to his loved ones but can be savage, aggressive, cunning or intimidating when he needs to be.
+ He's not the typical horny perverted simp clown harem-seeker. Even when i the player chose to indulge the different horny female characters, his inner dialogues made it clear that he only hold dears those few women who is nice to him through the hard times when he was weak and had nothing, not the sluts that thirst after his new apperance. Respect to that.
+ After all he went through, he hold grudge and focus on it like a normal human being, not forgive and forget like a fool or get distracted by his dick like an idiot.

2. The story take revenge more seriously not blindly make it sounds like a bad thing which is a rare in any medium, let alone in an adult game.
"An eye for an eye and the world goes blind" eh?... Well "the world" better finds a guide dog then lol.

3. The sex scenes: standard koikatsu but with proper sexy ahegao. Not every koikatsu vn i found implement that.

The neutrals:

1. Just personal preference but if we're talking about Illusion models and assets then i'd prefer Honey select 1 or 2 rather than koikatsu.

2. Some typos and minimal grammar errors.

The bads:

Starting with good things in this game ikeable main charecter after prologue and female charecters are well done both in looks and writing . Plot is setting up to one of great revenge game . In prologue main charecter was probably one of the worst doormat that I have probably played was just about to quit the game there , luckily I didn't after playing till the end it turns prologue waa more like a redemption arc to the main charecter . There is no annoying Sandbox till now , I hope it stays as it is . Looking forward to next update .
