Hello, I wanted to know some more information about those three things called Patreon, Paypal and Anonymity. I'm about to release a demo of a game I created with Renpy, the majority of creators uses patreon to found their games but how is everything managed between patreon and Paypal ?
For me anonymity is really important especially for this type of content, and having paypal linked to my patreon doesn't appeal to me at all. Is there a safer way to monetize this type of content? I've seen SubscribeStar as an interesting option but I've also seen that a lot of people still prefer to use Patreon

What does this have to do with paypal keeping, managing and selling my personal information? Also, not living in the states might be a problem. I've read somewhere that paypal doesn't like adult related content business outside of America.

Use Payoneer, it's less intrusive than Paypal. Unless you're planning on making kiddy stuff. Then just don't do kiddy stuff.

I'll take a look at payoneer then, and no, the game has nothing that goes against patreon rules (I hope).

How about discord? It has donate bot and transactions are done for free or so they say.

Firstly, Paypal have billions of users, no one will pass through the record of one of them without a really good reason ; and, "is this guy a pervert", isn't a really good reason.
Secondly, Patreon isn't a platform just for adult creators, so it's not because you're on Patreon that you're necessarily a pervert.
Thirdly, Patreon just say (basically speaking obviously) "Put this amount of money on this guy account", they don't say that it come from the account name XYZ on there site.
Therefore, even if someone of Paypal would discover that there's money coming from Patreon, he should figure out, according to the amount, from what Patreon page it come before knowing anything. Unless you're someone that will make a really big amount of money, your page would be just one among many.

In the end, unless it's for legal reason (mostly because being involved with porn is illegal in your country), wanting anonymity at all cost at this level is more a paranoid move than anything else.
Anyway, unless you decide to be payed only in crypto-money, if it's not Paypal that would have the possibility to know about it, it will be your bank... And they know way more about you than Paypal do.

Yeah in the end it's just me being extremely cautious about the whole thing since this is my first project.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hi! Sorry. Old thread and I don't know if you're still there, but, How do I create a PayPal account outside my country? VPN? Every time I load the PayPal site it lands on the national one version and with that account (which I already have one), I cannot add US$ money except with a prepaid card which has a limit of around $1000,00. I'd like to have a US$ account. If you can help me, I'll be glad. Thanks in advance!
Right, can you get a US Bank account and Paypal account without being in the US or being a US Citizen? That's the only detering thing me from making my own game.
