People who ask for full save files?

I never understood the reasoning behind people wanting to get save files just not to play the game.
I understand if you finished a game or progressed beyond a certain point and realised that you messed something, or even because an update doesnt support the older saves.
But otherwize?

For art? Just to see pics without any story behind it?

I haven't actually used them before but have considered it several times. Basically when playing a game I don't like replaying it to see all the scenes but still want to see all the scenes. If there's a replay gallery and I can see I'm missing scenes but don't know how to get them that's when I consider going for the full save. Usually though there's walkthrough or cheat mods that allow you to see all the content and I usually go for those first.

For example, I don't like playing rpgm games(sometimes). I download full save file to see gallery.

I normally play through the game unless it's terrible. However, I have had some cases where a save file was welcome:

News Desk: You can win the game long, long before you unlock all the content. Making it into a pointless grind. I'd have played on properly if it had been better-paced. Decoupling the victory condition from the ero-scene progress probably wasn't a good idea.

School Conquest: Hard as shit logic puzzle towards the end of the game. I really question how many people solved that on their own.

There can be various reasons, perhaps they already played the game earlier, but lost their save files. Or maybe they are stuck because of a bug or whatever, maybe they want to have access to the gallery of the game or they want to see how different paths of the game are. Some RPGM maker games compile their images to an unreadable format for Windows, so that's why I can imagine people asking for a save.

Ren'py games offer the possibility to skip through already seen content. I assume that they want to use the save to skip through all the "boring" (from their point of view) parts that are the story.
They could use the auto advance for that, but apparently few people understood that the slider is inverted, and that you've to put it at the minimal value for it to advance almost as fast as the skip feature.

Especially for larger games I find that even the skip feature isn't fast enough when I just want to get the missing scenes. When I want to see a specific scene then I want to be able to just see it in a single click and not have to skip over content I've already seen. I'm sure my play style and preference is in the minority here but that's just my preference. In other words it's just about not wanting to see and skip over everything a second or even third time just for a couple missing scenes.

Then look at the source code and use the console to jump to what you want to see. I use it, time to time when I don't feel like having separate plays and still want to see some of the variations.

I agree but at the same time you dont really know people's circumstances to have the need for asking for it. Sure, they may be lazy and merely want the 100% for gallery etc but sometimes there can be legitimate reasons like save corruptions, bugs and even switching from android -> PC vice versa where saves cannot be transferred
it could also be that theyve played the game already and therefore want the save and that theyre now redownloading the game for their own reasons

I am not saying there could not be legitimate(albeit this is biased) reasons...I am saying that looking up art(if that is why you want the save) directly instead of trying to get it through the game is way faster and less demanding.
What is the point of downloadng the game if you are not planning to play it at some point.

This is mostly just a thing for games that include lots of repetitive grinding instead of a real story. They want to skip the part that's not fun so they can play the part that's fun.

I don’t understand why either? ... If I like the game, I play it myself(I have never used someone else's save's in my life) If you don't play yourself, why play at all?

But if I need image's, I us:

* depack.rpy / for Ren'Py
* Decrypter / for RPGM
* Unity / ?

Here are some of my reasons that sometimes I want full save,
- The game is grindy and starts to take too much time on things that is like a one-time pass thing, like level up my character in RPGM games.
- The game gives no hint whatsoever so sometimes I don't know how to unlock some of the remaining scenes or endings.
- The gameplay system is literally unplayable, or unenjoyable but the artwork is very good.

It depends on the game really.

For me personally, I mostly play games for the characters/story and the animations/art. If the H scenes suck but the former is great I'll often just play thru it normally, but if the characters/story are crap or nonexistent you need REALLY good gameplay for me to burn hours playing through it.

Even in games with pretty good/great gameplay, if the progression, grinding, or direction suck I may get tired of it after a few levels and just want to see the content. Or maybe the game focused mostly on a fetish I dislike/don't care about but has a few scenes I do want to see. Or maybe the dev expects me to play the game 3 times to see all the stuff and I was already bored after one playthrough.

In terms of just visiting xhentai or whatever; often the game will have sound/animation mixed in a way that offsite galleries don't, or if there is a gallery video on pornhub or w/e, they may not spend long enough on the scene I like.

That said, I don't ask for saves, I just skim the topic to see if there is one, if not I'll generally just uninstall.
