. I've always loved written smut and have read a lot of it, now this LLM has allowed me to make my own little smut adventures, without the content filters other LLMs have.
It is kinda stupid sometimes (as all AI are) but I've been tweaking it by giving it the right instructions and using both the info tracker and my own notes to manage the AI's memory.

So anyway, since there is no dedicated thread for it on F95 I thought I'd make one, so we can share thoughts, tips, stories, characters and all other things related to Perchance RPG.

I'm still messing with it, but now I'm mostly testing the Story Generator and abusing the overview tab, since it seems able to handle more extensive data, while on the AI RPG's info tracker can barely handle more than 4 characters. Memory is the biggest issue, but the style of writing for the AI is something I'm struggling to fix.
Anyway, here's a prompt I've been messing with :

The new writing instructions at the prompt are more inspired by Orwell's instructions on how to write good prose, but the AI seems to ignore it sometimes (maybe the wording is not simple enough for it). Due to the fact that the AI lacks memory and is not able to write quality stuff I've been spending most of my time writing characters, lore, backgrounds and the beginning of stories. I spent some time doing an ASOIAF one and now I'm doing a World of Darkness one, I can post some of those n the future if anyone is interested.

They are changing the text generator soon, hopefully it remains uncensored and filthy-minded. But let's not get ahead of ourselves... Remember, we're in this together.

for stories. I think it gives more control.

I have also set up LM studio to try running locally but not had a lot of success. They seem to be OK to start but once it gets longer they forget what was previously in the story and need constant prompting and correcting. The perchance generator creates summaries as it goes to help keep itself on track.

I discovered this a couple of weeks ago and have been enjoying using it, but there are definitely issues: the AI either wants to speedrun to the endgame of whatever plot it has in mind, or if you're guiding it goes very off the rails at every opportunity. Characters will change personality on a dime too, even if you specify it in the info box.

One I am doing now was supposed to be a fun harem comedy but currently has my PC at the police station reporting an assault.

Perchance changed the LLM it uses about a month back, and things went a bit haywire. It's been steadily improving since then, as the dev tweaks and tunes the new LLM. I expect it will be another month or two before it's working as the dev wishes, but there are already big improvements over the previous model.

But yeah, for now if you enjoy your RP filled with schizos, loonies, and psychos, it's fuckin' great

For fun and comedy, I'd give it another few weeks.

Sounds like a great basis for laughs to me

I don't know which generator you're using, I use the AI-RPG. I give it a brief precis of who I am, where I am, and what's going on in the top box. Then I give an initial prompt, and keep pressing continue to see where it takes me. It starts really well, but after a while you have to edit its responses and prompt again here and there. It doesn't have enough tokens to carry on a long story, but it still has far more than most paid options, so it's well worth persevering with. If you keep reminding it of what it's forgotten, it can work really well.

I have high hopes for it when the dev has finished tuning it up.

Yeah they changed the model lately, has a few improvements but seems to turn really dark real quick in a goofy way.
AI RPG and Story Generator have slight differences as well I believe.
I am no longer using it though. I wanted something better so now I'm paying for an online LLM thing that is uncensored, better than perchance in terms of writing but still has issues remembering stuff.

If there was a model with a longer memory, or something that I could input an essential char. and lore list to be always remembered I would switch tho.

What are you using if you don't mind sharing? I'm OK with spending money on something that provides the experience I want. Uncensored and consistent plot/characters elements are all I'm really looking for.

Again, it's better, but it's still not as good as running a local LLM (which I can't since I'm using a laptop for smut).
I find that it does follow instructions well for a while (probably 5-10k words) but then you need to remind it of your writing instructions, lore, past events, characters, etc.
I haven't seen it repeat the same tropes as much as perchance though, such as 'getting ahead of ourselves'.

I didn’t expect it to take this long for me to get the new text model under control. It’s much more intelligent in general, but the repetition and random fixations can get surprisingly bad.
Sorry about that. This is just a heads up that I’m still working on it, and it’ll likely remain a bumpy ride for the next couple of months.
Thanks to those who have complained here and on reddit, especially the posts that give concrete examples of issues, and attempted workarounds, etc.
Please do keep posting any issues/discoveries, ideally with share links to give me specific examples that I can test.
Other news:

• I’m still working on the next image gen update, and am hoping it will improve fine details, text rendering, and overall image quality. It should also be about 2x faster. If all goes well (which, from experience, it won’t) I should be able to get that done in the next month or so.
• For a long time I’ve been very close to shipping a multiplayer plugin and database plugin. I’ve actually made multiple ‘ready to ship’ draft plugins of both, but have been disatisfied with the design and ended up not publishing each time. Using these plugins won’t trigger ads on the generator, so I need to be really careful about the overall architecture to ensure the the servers for them are dirt-cheap to run. I also want to make them fun/simple to use of course. Once I get text and images stable, I’m going to focus on these two plugins and finally get them done.
