This is a very well done game, the UI is nice and responsive, no grammar issues, characters are well designed, and the plot was, initially, very promising. When characters were introduced I was interested in learning more about them, I liked the MC and the plot he was getting into.
It didn't take long, however, for the writing to degrate into generic porn game slop... I might just not be the intended target audience, but every time anything sexual happened, the setup was unbelievable and the behavior of the girls was often laughably silly. You think you are going through a developing romance plot which will gradually transition into lewdness... Then the girl will trip and fall on your face and BAM here's your cunnilingus congrats first H scene unlocked!
There's a huge dissonance between the MC's story (a veteran, combat specialist, etc), the way he looks (which is of course due to Honey Select's lackluster male models) and mainly how he often sounds like a tryhard teenager ("do you think I'm a virgin boy?").
Most of what I'm complaining about is pretty standard and even way above average of the typical porn game you see in this site, but it presents itself in a way that, alongside the interesting start to the story, seemed to try being a narrative experience above hentai slop. Then you get the typical "apply lotion to my butt!" scene where seemingly no female in the world can even imagine the erotic implications of such an action.
The character stories move along from H scene to H scene like a boy fantasizing about lewd stuff with people he knows, quite literally porn video writing level. There's a scene which involves a female character assaulting another female character, the victim goes "What, are you a lesbian?" as she's being touched, and then the MC arrives and goes "Wow, didn't know she was a lesbian!" and it is so laughably stupid the way it is worded and how it goes.
Another nitpick is that the "major" events the characters have are often so insignificant and short they feel like repeatable affection scenes... You'll get a NEW notification in the map, click it expecting some more story, and it'll be just a 5 scene chitchat which doesn't advance the plot, character or relationship, and then get some more affection for the next event to be something simillar, until finally something happens for real. Thankfully the game isn't too grindy.
Overall, it is a good game, one which in my opinion would get 3/5. Although I feel it is unfair to rate it that low when most of the problems seem to come from my invalid expectations. There's clearly a lot of care put into this project.
