It's a great game, a lot of dough, but it always keeps you in suspense, and it has a wonderful plot. many unexpected turns of events! At first, there were few photos, but the author listened to the recommendations and increased the number of cool photos.

[Review based on v0.7]

* Texts, texts and more texts... This game needs to be properly tagged as "text-based" until this changes.
* The premise is good and has potential, but the story and the characters' behavior are pretty average.
* All girls look too similar.
* There's no way to tell which reply gives you the path you want (if there's any path at all). And there's no Save mechanism, so good luck resetting the game or chapter and trying different answers.
* You need Password codes to advance in the story, and the codes provided in the thread's OP don't work. Again, good luck searching for them in the comments all over the thread.
* Not enough images and even less sex scenes... But wait, did I mention it has lots of text?

Yo, this game is kinda whack, not gonna lie.
First off, there's way too much reading. It's like you're stuck in a never-ending text convo with barely any pics to break it up.
And the pics that are there? They're dope, but man, there just ain't enough of 'em. You wanna see what's going down, but instead, you get a novel's worth of messages.
The phone setup is a hot mess too. You're chatting with one person, then you switch to another, and suddenly nothing lines up. It's like the game forgot what day it is or something. Super confusing.
The story? Don't even get me started. It goes in all these weird directions. The wife's out here doing random gigs and getting into kinky stuff instead of, you know, actually helping get the MC out of the slammer. Make it make sense.
And the characters? They flip the script way too fast. The daughter and the wife go from normal to doing wild stuff in no time. It doesn't feel real at all.
Same with the MC—he's all over the place. One sec he's stressing about his wife, the next he's chill with everything. Pick a lane, dude.
You think you're making choices that matter, but nah, it's all for show. No matter what you pick, the story railroads you to the same spot. It's frustrating.
Basically, you're just watching the story happen without any real input. Like one of those kinetic novels where you just click and read.
Honestly, it seems like the dev didn't really try that hard. There's so much that could be better.
Like, the wife turns into this sneaky, lying person out of nowhere, and you stop caring about her real quick. So when the NTR stuff happens, you're just like, 'Eh, whatever.' It doesn't hit like it's supposed to.
Overall, it's a bummer because it had potential, but it just doesn't deliver. Save your time and skip this one.

With the recent glut of AI, Phone-based, NTR Visual Novels "Phone Behind Bars" stands out.

First, the writing. This is great way to write an MC into an NTR story-line where it really only make sense that a mobile phone works. Too often the scenarios in most of the other NTR Phone based VNs have instances where the MC and their significant other are actually together in the scene and still texting each other...really? While I do understand it happens, I feel as though it takes away from the scene itself. I digress. In the narrative of "Phone Behind Bars" the only real means of contact with the outside world is through a smuggled mobile phone and the MC only gets what others are willing to share via text-messaging. This sets the stage for a true phone based story.

Second, the artwork. I see many people here, and in other forums, knocking AI in general. Why? I can understand when the images have extra fingers, or are missing nipples, although I would argue this is no different than DAZ3D where the fingers are rendered inside an bject, or the nipples are flat against the aerola. Regardless of whether it is 3D, AI, Drawn, etc. it comes down to attention to detail. In this instance the developer obviously pays attention and gets it right. There are no significant issues with imaging...believe me I have looked . If I had to criticize any part of the artwork it would be that there isn't enough (see my comment in the forum thread on this being too text-based on occassion).A few mroe images oer scene would really flash this story out.

Finally, overall project. So far this is a unique approach to the NTR/Phone genre and it seems a bit more "realistic" than the trope of husband just wants to get cucked as quickly as possible and sends wife off with friends to blow guys in bar bathrooms while he sits at home fapping to his wfife's bull's texts. (Don't get me wrong, these are okay, just not original). I feel like the most recent release, Chapter 6 - Wife, fell off a bit on the Netorase side of the story-line, and left me wondering if this was going to turn into a straight Netorare narrative. After a brief interaction with SamGoodwin, my concerns were eased a bit That said, I won't be upset, regardless of the direction he decides to go, it it their story afterall.

All-in-all this is a top-tier VN and dovetails nicely into the NTR/Phone genre in a way that others just don't at this time. I recommend to anyone looking for this type of game.

The text to picture ratio is abysmal. This might as well be marked a text game, because for the few standing shots you see of a character, 99% of what is going on is just a -lot- of text messages. Like, there's upwards of 100 messages sometimes just describing something or other without any image to show a scene or what the characters are doing. It is the opposite of "show, don't tell".

A few reviewers have said they like the story but I find it kiond of moving in strange directions, rather than the obvious wife getting herself into trouble to try adn secure bail or something, she's going around doing Shibari and getting a waitress job? You are pretending to be a firefighter to the manager's assistant? It's nonsensical.

The art is good though, for what little there is.

TLDR: Solid in some ways, the game has are a ton of areas in need of improvement.

Most of us are aware, there's a plethora of these kinds of games at this point, which is to say "phone games" with ai art and usually a focus on ntr.
That's fine in principle, I like some of these games, other less so.
But what sets this game apart?

The settings I guess, the mc is imprisoned and his lawyer has smuggled in a phone. Reasonable setup. Then there's a person that used to have a crush on the mc's wife that could help the case ... nice chance to introduce some drama. So far, so good.
The basic phone system is implemented solidly and the ai art has generally been created with attention to detail. Well written english without noticeable translation issues. Nice.

Unfortunately, when it comes to the details, most everything in this game goes off the rails.

First there is the phone interface. Basically everything apart from the messaging app isn't really used. And the implementation of the story in the messaging app is very sloppy. When I started playing, I chatted with the lawyer and during the chat got a contact to my stepdaughter. I could then switch out and chat with her for a bit, then switch back to the lawyer, finish the conversation, receiving a contact for my wife, who, while chatting with her, then mentioned sending me the contact to the stepdaughter I had already received. Also, inside the chats, sometimes days pass, and thus it's possible to get the conversations "out of sync" with each other. Very weird experience. At least the "photo" app works fine, saving all the images you are sent in chats.

The ai art, like I wrote, is quite nice, though you sometimes get images that feel a little off (timing wise), but that might just be me.

Speaking of timing, the story ... ah, the story. It's all so very on-the-nose. No subtlety when it comes to development. You can, as the husband, act wary towards your wife meeting with the guy that used to have a crush on her, but as soon as something happens, the game gives you no option to be upset about it. Also, the wife falls to her would-be-lover practically instantly, with only playful regrets. Queue that-escalated-quickly-meme. The story lacks all subtlety. Same goes for the side-story with the stepdaughter and her friend.

Implementing a chronology system for the phone app and reworking the pace of the early story at the very least might go a long way and cause me to up my rating a star or two, but as the game stands now, two stars is all I can give. Best of luck to the dev regardless.

I'm really happy to see the story continue. Jesse is the coolest character -I love reading his messages (not counting Olivia, of course – she's the best!). The writing is solid, and every new part keeps me hooked.

The AI-generated art is really well done. It’s clean, expressive, and matches the mood of each scene. You can tell there was care put into making sure everything looks consistent and stylish. It’s some of the best AI art I’ve seen in this kind of game.

I just wish the updates came faster, because I’m always excited to see what happens next. Still, I can tell the dev really cares about the quality, and it shows.

One of the best phone sim game I’ve played

This is easily one of the top game in the phone simulation genre. What really sets it apart is the story, it’s not just another “wife cheating “ plot with no depth. Every character feels real, with personalities,motivations and believable choices. The author clearly put a lot of thought into the writing and made the events feel like natural consequences of the situation, not just random drama

Honestly, this is the best storytelling I’ve seen in any NTR-story phone simulation genre game. There’s also path involving the daughter, which adds more variety and emotional weight

Art isn’t usually my priority in games like this, but here it’s done really well I don’t know if’s Ai or something else, but the visuals are impressive and match the mood of the scenes perfectly

Ui is clean, and everything works smoothly No bugs or lag on my end

I really hope the updates keep coming looking forward to what’s next

I enjoyed playing this game :
- the plot is really interesting
- the discussions are of a good quality
- the pictures looks very good
Only one way of improvement : more pictures would be perfect

This is a pretty cute game, totally worth the time.

Pros:
* The artwork is hot without being overly explicit (for better or worse). Its AI but it is well-done AI - where it is consistent, intentional, has a style, and is nice to look at. And the girls look adorable
* The writing is sexy. Not as lewd as I like but its good to have a change of pace here and there
* The corruption is kinda realistic... though its more from realizing the characters were already corrupt or wanting to be corrupt. Which is more realistic then church lady -> slut in under a week, slightly disappointing for those into corruption arks, kinda a cool take from an NTR perspective since its more a 'realization ark'
* The NTR (at least the path I took, don't know if there are really other paths) is soft. Which isn't necessarily good / bad, but hard NTR is often just written badly (the MC ends up coming off as a horrible and pathetic human being more often then not), so its easy to read through without getting upset by this one. Or not too upset, sometimes it takes a little while to communicate

Cons:
* The patron codes are annoying, especially since they don't stay unlocked. Devs.. please stop it. They'll get leaked anyway, if not then its a 5 second download to get something that will crack open your game engine and just get the codes... its just annoying for players, including supporters. Just let folk finance you if and when they can afford to, by providing good and consistent quality content. Or don't, just saying the codes are annoying to all players
* The game follows two stories.. and they don't interact in any way (literally, like a week will pass in one story and when you switch chats it might have been less then an hour), which just feels weird. Either make two games or have one block progression of the other so they stay in sync. Ideally have interaction between the stories, where you talk to the mother about her daughter and vice versa
* Some of the reactions feel like they need... 'more'. Like when the mc discovers one of the characters is sluttier then expected and has been doing a lot of sex stuff.. aaaaaand it doesn't really come up, he just drops it. Doesn't try to talk to her about it, doesn't go 'how long has this been going on', no discussion, no introspection with some kind of online (phone-accessible) therapist... just 'ok, that happened, and moving on'
* The prison aspect feels kinda lost. The guy could be anywhere - on an oil rig, on deployment, anything. Aside from a bit of a mcguffin for the wife to do what she's doing, its not really used. Like asking for pics to trade with cell-mates. Or conjugal visits (with him or as favors for others in the prison). Something. Not a biggie, just kind of a mild disappointment in the back of my mind.

I don't wanna be harsh with this game. Honestly the art carries it, but it carries it very well, and the writing is certainly sexy and strong enough to keep you clicking through the story. And there are enough choices (maybe real choices?) to keep you invested. Its worth the download if you like this art style and genre. Is it worth supporting once in a while? Mmm.. decide for yourself, for me I'd probably need a good bit more content and those codes to go away. Maybe a few more plot lines spinning off But eventually, yea, I could see it getting there. For now its more at where I'd pay a one-time thing on a service to get it when its complete, or at a major milestones of development, but not monthly.

Absolute wall of china of text. But great. The art in my opinion is very good for AI. I think the wife is the hottest thing in any of these phone games. I would love more pics of the action, but this seems more of a story and text orientated. The wife story is great so far.

I don't really care for the story of the two girls, but I guess it's largely optional anyway.

Updates could be quicker. I am already dying although to be fair there was only continuation for the story of the girls in 0.6. Moar pics of the wife like the one from behind in the ropes. God that is a hot pic.

Bloody ripper of a game. The story isn't just some cookie cutter "she went here, met this bloke, did that" kinda thing it's more like a proper adventure book
As for the art can’t say I care too much I’m a grownass girl, used to books without pictuers but from what I can tell, it’s solid, and heaps of people are raving about it.

Would love to see more filth and spicy scenes ay! Feels like the story’s leading up to it, so fingers crossed the next updates bring the heat Can’t bloody wait!

One of my fav games so far, no joke!

I really enjoy these phone games, and I've played many of them, so here's what I think about this one:

Story - It's not cliche, which is a rare find in this genre

Art - It's really hard to find a phone game that doesn’t use an anime art style (personally, I'm a bit tired of it) This one has something more photorealistic, I'm not sure what the exact style is, but I defintely like it

Characters - I like how the main character's wife looks and acts I'm not a fan of PLUS-size women, so this fit waifu is exactly what appeals to me

Story progression – some people might complain about the gradual character development, especially the fact that the wife hasn't been taken in different positons yet, but for me, this anticipation and imersion are the most exciting parts
The way the author teases the player is just brilliant

Overall, the game is genuinely great and will definitely appeal to fans of rich story

With more content and features like full-screen mode or customizable names, this game has the potential to become even better. It’s still early in development, but updates are regular, and the developer seems genuinely passionate about the project. Overall, it’s a promising game worth keeping an eye on!

I played this game since it's launch on F95, the story thus far seems okay, frustrating that it feels short, but I do understand code and 5000+ lines of code per update ain't no joke.

I'll give my honest review here now, with constructive feedback on things to perhaps add to the game.

• The storyline of the MC being in jail brings a thrill of not being able to control what happens with his wife or daughter

• The buildup of tension between characters is enjoyable, especially the MC not trusting everyone and then learning things happening to his wife( I would love if the MCs wife wasn't as blunt with her advances towards others( if it was true NTR and he only found out via a 3rd party she got abused/molested whilst being drunk etc.

• The daughter's friend is a good-ish idea, would've loved it more if a concerned classmate contacted the MC to tell him about the things his daughter got up too and more and more stories reach him about her turning into a real slut.

• Would love if the daughter did a "FansOnly" and the MC figuring out if people is trying to frame his daughter or something like that(That be a thrilling story to follow)

• If the MC got involved into a gang inside the prison, and an opposing gang figured out who the MCs family was and basically tortured him that way by worming their way into their daily lives to have their way with his wife and daughter.

• The night club idea can and definitely will work, there's elements there that can make every encounter she has at the club be thrilling, like ex. She becoming a stripper but not telling her husband (Things she would do to save her husband type of deal)

• The assistant Kira, shouldn't drop bombs on the MC, but rather be subtle and vague not give the MC direct answers to his questions, as to not lose their best looking waitress/ dancer, citing that they might lose income because the MCs wife brought a lot of clients to the club.

• Somehow have the MC be able to track and monitor his wife's and daughter's movements and be able to spy on them using friends/ CCTV/ phone cloning tech and learning that way of what they get up to, and sending people after them to stop them what they doing only to have whomever he sends take advantage of the situation.

• I love the build up, the read, yes it's a Porn game on a porn game website, but reading how the MC is frustrated and not getting through to his wife or daughter and having others corrupt them is definitely a WIN in my book, but please do the corruption in stages, nobody likes it if she's angel today and by tomorrow night she turned into a succubus ,but give us in a NTR fashion hints and/ or clues that's what's happening and that's she's enjoying it.

As for the story as it stands at V 0.5 I'm pleased with how the story progressed, would've loved it more if the MC gave suggestions and the MCs wife followed her own logic and did what she thought was a good idea only to be used, molested and loves it but not telling her husband out of fear that he will be mad etc.

And yes I'm a true NTR fan, I love a bodycount on a female, definitely not a cuck and can sense frustration and helplessness when things happen that's out of his control obviously that's what thrilling about NTR for me the fact that he can't control what's happening and must deal and accept for whatever happens next.

The art looks fine. The plot is as to be expected. My only gripe is that you are forced to be accepting of her cheating. And thats a shame to be honest. I get that its an ntr game, but as it was sort described to be ntr or nts, i would have expected more control of my own opinions.

A good amount of pics for the stepdaughter, but a little empty, storywise for the wife, or maybe i just didnt go far enough.
Dialogue is actually decent, if you dont take the fact that you dont really have much of an opinion into consideration.

Even with a few flaws, which I don't find particularly annoying or numerous, this is one of my favorite games. The narrative is fantastic, the AI art is consistent (which I enjoy despite it being AI), and I enjoy the phone interface of the game. Also, the game developer has been enhancing it and providing more images. Overall, I eagerly anticipate every update for this game. C:

An interesting concept of the game, when you communicate only by phone. Not a bad plot, beautiful art. But everything is spoiled by the lack of choice and gaps in the plot. Or I misunderstood, but the real choice was only for the daughter's friend to send or not send a photo. Particularly thrown off track by the moment after which I could no longer play, when we have proof of my wife's betrayal, she says that the situation was with another person, when you try to find out about the situation you know, she just says we'll discuss it later I have to run and you no longer return to this topic and communicate as before. 5/10

Not the best gameplay experience. You cannot speed up the chat in istant mode you have to keep pushing space bar or enter till death you can, only receive messages from one chat at time and above all there is no possibilities to save where you want to left, you have to finish the charapter or restart it. Contents for now are ok i prefer more picture and less chat beacuse pics are very few. For now an average game that with a better gameplay could be above average

I really like this game and it's one of the games that have me frequently checking for updates.

The visuals are great and the dev actually put in some effort to build a backstory for the characters and a world around them. This is not yet another porn game with one-dimensional characters that are constantly horny and that fuck each other every 2 sentences. It's more of a slow burn so if that's not your thing then this game ain't for you.

It's still early in development so there isn't a lot of content yet but the update schedule is very decent, especially for a solo dev and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I also spoke to the dev on patreon and he/she seems like a really nice dude/dudette who has a lot of passion for this project.
