Ren'Py - Pill King [v0.29] [Effx Games]

I kind of like this game. The girls are very beutiful and the mechanism is easy to understand. Hints are easy to follow even if the green or yellow sign not always show correctly if the quest is open or done.
Would have got a 4 or even 5 if it was not for the hopeless grinding.

It's not a terrible VN but damn is it grindy, I mean not only do we have to go to work dozens of time to get the $$ to buy the "perks" and pills but we also have to study the perks 3 times just to learn them.... I mean I wouldnt mind once but 3 times after I just got done having to pick 5 pills 12+ times over 12+ days to make $10 each time is a bit much.
I like the models and their faces are top notch but the grind just kills it for me, they need to add a VN mode or something for those of us that do not want to spend 90% of their time playing just grinding to progress

+ Amazing models. This AI renders of popular celebrities look gorgeous. I wish the dev utilised the art better.
+ The sandbox interface is not bad. Pretty simple and intuitive.

- Dumb and poorly constructed dialogues.
- Monotonous grindfest even for a sandbox game
- Story is 'meh'.
- The interactions with characters are lifeless and boring. There's no expression and no connection with any of them.
- Poor single frame looping animations.

Pill King is a great game with very good looking characters and an interesting plot that keeps the game moving at your own pace. The game doesn't force you do any actions on the characters unless you want to interact with them and just focus on one girl at a time which is a nice way of pacing yourself and not wanting to rush things. I really do like the faces on the characters as they do feel unique to themselves and look "realistic". The animations are also really great and very polished as they are smooth animations that don't really have that "stuttering" feel when they move. Overall, I give the game an 5/5 stars.

Absolutely love this game, very nice visuals, characters are sexy, nothing too big in terms of body proportions and Sarah is absolutely stunning!
Very early in its development, but still some great content to see and even a guide and cheats so the grind isn't something that turns you off the game too xx

- looks like dev is russian- labels, remarks etc. i mean- i dnt ask german translation(no miracles in this world), but plz just place russian translation. btw some phrases looks like translated directly from russian(no idea how natural it sounds at eng)
- lack adult content. its not bad, just early development stage, but read carefuly game tags
CONS:
- terrible timesystem, i mean digits in str... yes, it works(for now), but it ll bring solid bugs amount in future
- 1 scene not correctly listed in hint menu- sarah weekednd night pool (i mean- sarah marked "done", but that scene(mem_sarah_2_com) in galery not opened)

actyaly, my "inner" rating was 4.5 , then flip a coin- kopf, so 4.

The games on this platform thrive on awesome scenes. And this game has one of the hottest ever with the mother's bedroom scene. The dramaturgy is also really well realized with the literally closed door and the repeated attempts, in which you always get a little further until you achieve greater success.

I don't even care about grinding, a less than optimal UI, etc. If I want to invest time and click work for such great scenes (not have to, but want to), then a game is doing everything right for me. And that's the case with this game.

Amazing renders. Terrible game. - Kinetic novel disguised as a sandbox game. This game is a horribly slow burn. It might not have been as bad if I didn't experience bugs that made me have to repeat events to progress the story.

Great game and worth your download and support. The play through is amazing! The models are stunning and it isn't a concept that I have seen before. I can not wait until the next update. I am a big fan to say the least.

Well story is meh at the moment, dudes gets "hired" to be a lab rat which turns him into a childish lust driven and complete idiot with no controle of hes mind and there is no cure for it and he cant resist hes desires and to survive he has to fuck hes familie and everyone else, to me its a bit boring and it sounds like you might be forced to fuck people you dont want to touch with a 10ft pole like the mother in my case and if that the happens game most defently wont be for me, but that remains to be seen if you have a choice or not.

To make it 100% idiotic is how the story is pure porn logic, a woman clicked a yes button to mix some wierd shit into the chamber MC is in, but the mix is a 7 freaking year old thing that the doc hasent worked on since....so why the fuck would a 7 year old compound of whatever be in the pipes of the machine....hasent the doc worked for 7 years or what? it makes 0 sense and is pure porn logic, like the doc just saying sorry no cure but why dont you go fuck your mother and sisters like its absolutly normal....its to much porn logic worse then a b-porn movie.

Next problem and one of the bigger ones is the LIs, they look nice but they are emotionless, no expressions no nothing just boring and if thats the cost of using celebs faces then its absolutly not worth it.

MC is just the standard run of the mill type, childish with a mindset of a 12 year old, cant help him self looking at tits and it gets blamed on the meds/gas he got hit with in the lab, but its just the same shit as alot of games.

Girls are hot kinda goes without saying, but they need ALOT of work, seeing the same face with the same emotion a million times over is just not good enough.

Animations are good, atleast some have a bit of face movement, but could still be better and its almost like dev cant do faces doing sex scenes since 95% never shows the face.

Music is about averge.

Game might have some potential which is why i give it 3 stars for now untill i can revisit it once it gets alot more content since at the moment there really arent much to come for.

Pros:
- The characters bodies are nice and the renders are solid
- I didn't find any bugs
- The in game guide is good. If you cheat some money, you can complete everything pretty easily. You don't really need to grind anything besides money.

Cons:

The models bodies are nice, but at least one or two of them are celebrities. Emma Watson and Taylor Swift, I think.

But that's not the issue. Their expressions are. Doll like. They never have anything other than a blank look on their faces, no emotion at all. It's very creepy and uncanny. Simply giving them expressions would improve the game a lot. I mean literally, their expressions never change. No smiles, no grins, no laughter. They barely even open their mouths. Soulless.

This game has the opportunity t lead to great things.

Game play is simple but enjoyable with explanations given on how it works and how to learn more.

The Renders in this game is some of the Best I have ever played. clear almost life-like with beautiful ladies as well. Well done in getting this right.

That alone would make it worth the time to explore since it is a sandbox set-up, but a simple non-time consuming setup.

Hope to see more of this one and really hope to see what else EFFX can come up with in the future hopefully holding on to the level set by this one.

Ruins the immersion by using the celeb faces. (though I don't know who some of them are...)
Needs to be spell checked.

Not sure who's parents they are, even with the patch.
For example, the MC refers to the parents by their first names, mostly. However when talking to a sister he says they are her parents....rather than our parents.

The female parent certainly doesn't look old enough.
Ages don't seem to be relistic enough.

Simplistic writing style with some strange sentences.
"I'll try to get for this young man a job here."

You can almost hear the robotic sounding voices coming from everyone....since there are no expressions or mouths moving.

Too bad. Was looking forward to this one.

It is clear the game is in early development but with updates coming quite quick its definitely worth playing.
It has good models and gameplay with a bit of grind which idm.
The scenes rn are more voyer stuff but since it is early days it is to be expected and imo is a positive since I prefer a slower approach to corruption, if that isnt for you it should be worth sticking around and waiting for some more updates.

The setup for the game is interesting, and I like the look of the characters (new and old). I have always been a sucker for the classic "corrupt your family in free roam" style, so I hope the dev is able to continue this game to completion. This game is definitely one of the games with more effort put into it and it shows. Check it out, definitely recommended. I look forward to seeing what the dev does with the game.

Story :- Simple and good ( as of ver 0.11) . Normal corruption and mind control game set up . Mc get some drugs and use it on girls . But a bit of difference is that there is a dad ( MC's dad ) in this game . Yeah it's time to cuck dad.

Visuals:- The dev uses Ai but i don't care until i get bad visuals but this game doesn't have that . The visuals looks great . The girls are hot and sexy.


Characters:- The game only got two- three update ( it's in early development) so it's hard to say how the characters will turn out but for now i just say i like the characters because I don't find anything to complain until now


Suggestions :- Although the girls are top class but they don't have emotions (as of ver.11) But i think in two three updates the dev have to make emotions . There is grind in this game as of now but the dev says that he will make the game less grindy so that a plus point .

Ok so the dev take suggestions and criticism in a good way which is a big plus point (i dont give star(s) for this) . This game could go their way (good and bad) but i dont think it will turn out bad That's Why i am giving this game 4 stars .

So far my only complaint is the little bit grindy skills .

That was the main selling point of this game

- kind of boring;
- story - after the initial setup, almost nonexistent;
- sandbox that doesn't need to be sandbox, because essentially everything happens linearly;
- grindy, very grindy;
- short scenes for the amount of grind;
+ nice models that are based on celebrities;

I really enjoy the game!

The Characters:
Alice - A cute young and smart sister with a look that suits her character very well. What's not to like here?

Lizy - She is the character I'm most indifferent about. Her characterization is well done, but her look doesn't particularly speaks to me on a personal level. She'*s a good character, that doesn'*t fit my taste exactly.

Sarah (Mom) - Very nice mother character. And most importantly her look is very different from any other mother character in similar games. Her character on the other hand is similar to many other mother characters. But that comes down to the genre I suppose and isn't a bad thing. All in all I like her very much!

Dad - Typical workaholic Dad, that neglects his family. His look is as unique as all the other characters in the game. Nothing to complain about. But most of us aren't here for the male characters anyway.

Ashley - Former secretary and now Lab assistant. She looks great. Her character also looks good so far. But there is not much characterization as of yet. A character with a lot of potential.

Boss - I like me a good boss character in a game. Her looks don't particularly speak to me, but the characterization so far makes up for it. Her interactions with Doc are great. (Hopefully this character doesn't end up on a forced Femdom path. Currently no indication, if it will be or not.)

John - When I first saw his character I had to laugh, because of the choice of looks. He is a male character with little characterization currently. Maybe we get to "know" his family in future versions. Nothing wrong with this character.

Doc - Best male character in the game (besides MC). A cookie professor, who helps the MC. I love him very much. And his interactions with the Boss I quite fun.

Gameplay

It is a Sandbox game, which can be hit and miss. Some Sandbox games would work better as a visual novel, because they're to linear. This game gives you enough freedom to warrant a Sandbox style. You can pursue every character at your own pace for the most part.

There are some grind elements when it comes to stats/skills. But they are very minimal. And I don't have problems with grind in games in general. So it doesn't bother me at all.
There are currently two minigames in here. I appreciate my games having actual game elements. So I'*m pleased with this. That said, the games are VERY easy and nobody should have a problem with them. I wouldn't mind a few more challenging minigames, but if it stays this way I'*m okay as well.

Visuals
Easily the shining star of this games. The unique twist on the character models was what made me decide to give this game a try in the first place. The character models look amazing! And this game also features EXCELLENT animations as well. Currently those are mostly masturbation related, but if those are any indication for the sex animations, then they'*re going to be stellar.

Hopes
Bringing in a few more niche optional choices could be good for the game. Maybe some Dad-Alice NTR (MC watching). Although I'm not a fan an optional Femdom route for the Boss would be nice for those with that kink. As well as some others like Feetjob, impregnation, BDSM, slavery and some others I might have forgotten may widen the audience as well. All those should be optional, though and there should be a vanilla path for every character so everyone can pursue every character they like without being forced in a kink they not like.
I'm intrigued what any additional characters might look like. What will the aunt be like? Will there be a cousin? Does the MC have a Best Friend (with a sister and mother of course)? Do we get to know Johns family?


Lot of potential for the game and I can't wait to see the progression!
