I noticed that Pixeldrain was being offered as an option a lot less on recent uploads, while I see websites like Vikingfile and Datanodes a lot more.

Is there a reason for this?

Yes.
Preference and user experience - obviously, mostly as an uploader (register needed or not, DCMA or not and how they act on it [deleting only reported content or removing accounts, ....], upload/download speed, captchas, how many days content won't be removed, ...)

Alright, thanks for answering. Guess I'll be cancelling my Pixeldrain membership if I'm going to be using it less.
