It's about your dissatisfaction with his output. The low ratio of satisfied dicks relative to months spent waiting for scenes that satisfy them. So about that output... There are 2 key things at work here that everyone ignores because they'd rather focus on what they (ie their penises) want rather then what is:

• This is an original game engine. It is NOT a Ren'Py game or Twine HTML game. The framework had to be created. Bugs have to be worked out. Continuously. Adding new features introduces more bugs and delays as complications are discovered. There are good reasons for why almost every other game around here uses Ren'Py or Twine. It is a LOT easier then trying to create something original. And that simplicity allows the creators to focus on cranking out content to keep the impatient masses happy. Frankly its astounding that anyone tries to make anything original when this is the reaction they get.
• Pizza hot is trying to do a slow corruption story in a somewhat realistic way. That means many steps in between the female protagonist as miss sweet and pure to banging her boss, Mr Humper, and every perv on the bus.

So yeah, it's taken a long time to get this far. And this far is still not very far as porn games go. Especially relative to your typical Ren'Py creation where all you need is a half decent story and skill at generating sexy girl pics/animation.

Oooh, but maybe he went with the orignal game engine and slow corruption route solely for the sake of dragging out the development time!! He's making us wait only because he loves the abuse! He's creating something new with enormous potential only torture us! That evil bastard!!

But seriously people, if your don't like the wait and relatively slow output, don't give him your money and go wank off to something else. All the bitching and review bombing about your disapointment with the game's current progress just means you are thinking with your dick instead of your head.

Are you telling me this guy has been burning his savings for years to solo develop a fucking porn game, and he's begging for people to subscribe to earn enough because otherwise he'll lose his home and kids?

That's a series of horrible fucking choices; it makes me very much doubt it's a real story, but if it is, they shouldn't be burning savings and risking everything developing a solo indie porn game as their main source of income. A careful look at this thread tells you a story, a story of that type of Dev. It has a large number of 5-star reviews from the start, it has a large number of recent negative reviews, and it has drama. You know this type. It's the breeding season type. It's a dev that has made a name for themselves in the early years of WEG scene, when pickings were slim. People latched on whatever was available even if it was shit. And they coasted off the success without putting much work ever since. That's the whole story, really.




The thing that has changed compared to the past is that we now have points of comparison, we know what is and what is not appropriate amount of work with a given budget and given time, and this game is woefully inadequate. There are games that

1. delivered way more lewd content per year
2. delivered way more narrative (an easy task, because this game doesn't have any)
3. delivered more, better game mechanics
4. started with zero funding
5. also did this with Unity/Godot (not that it matters to the end user, if your game is shit because you picked the wrong engine, it's your fault)

So we know that this game is lacking in every possible way. It has no interesting plot. It has no interesting characters (like come on, perv landlord is as boring as it can get, they are all one-dimensional). It has no complex game mechanics to speak of. It has no remarkable art (plus, the dev is not even the artist). And the game is not struggling financially compared to others. There is no redeeming quality here, not one.

That's why people are bitching, really. We know that this dev is not working, and his lies about 12hr work days are just insulting our intelligence. I mean... he is free to procrastinate, but in return, people are free to call out his lazy ass for what it is.

It has to do with how much he's earning for what he's doing. If he was earning nothing and doing nothing, people wouldn't complain. If he was doing a lot and earning a lot, people wouldn't complain. Not sure why you seem to think this is some sort of gotcha.

The lack of development doesn't seem to be explained by any technical issues, so obviously people think he's just taking the free money for no work, because as you should know, people tend to love money. He's not creating, and that's the problem. Any unrealized potential you see is just that, unrealized and inaccessible to anyone.

The game even in its current state is very good. If this game is shit like you said, why does it have so many paid subscribers. "So we know that this game is lacking in every possible way. Supporters who willingly supported the dev either got their money's worth or they didn't, and if not, then it's between them and the dev. Pizza Hot is their porn fix, and if they get the gratification of spending money on the game and getting their dopamine hit in exchange, then it hardly matters to anyone. If the dev makes a million dollars in the process, then can you really blame him?

Shit games like Starfield and Forspoken exist; can you blame their devs for charging $70 for that mediocre experience? Yes absolutely, but stupid people will also buy it regardless, and the game will be best-selling; it's the same analogy.

It's not our job to get accountability, and the dev hardly listened to anyone who wasn't a paying customer anyway, so why bother? Everyone has free will, everyone controls their own finances, and you can come to your own decision whether to support the dev or not. The facts have already been discussed here plenty of times.

As for the rest, people don't like being told what to do or what to think. All we can do is continue presenting facts, share the new versions, and discuss copium and hopium, rather than continue bickering amongst ourselves.

Discord Update

I'm quite under the weather lately.

The joys of having kids that meet other kids with all kinds of novel viruses that my middle-aged immune system isn't prepared to deal with. I didn't have a high count of defenses in my last blood test and man it's showing, because when I think I've fought off an infection, another comes to take its place.

And well, I guess I could go two ways with this: shut my mouth and keep working, or telling you.

I've been doing the first option because it seems the more professional approach. However, it comes at the cost of raising my stress even more and compounding the issue, because if I don't say I'm not well then you'll assume I am. And if I'm supposed to be well, then I should work at 100% performance, which I'm not capable of right now.

See the problem, right?

I don't want to disappoint you after setting difficult-to-meet expectations, such as releasing a decent-sized update every month. I know any little bump or obstacle will make that impossible for that month, but I still try to brave it by putting in more hours than I should. That raises my stress, which lowers my immune system, which makes me more vulnerable to sickness, which makes me work less effectively, which raises my stress because I won't meet my self-imposed deadline. A vicious circle.

So, I think it's better if I tell you guys before the month ends because I know many of you review your contributions at this time. My last estimation for v0.12 was around New Year, and I definitely don't want you to think I've waited until you've been charged, and only then inform you of a delay.

The thing I need the most right now is a clear conscience, so my stress lowers a bit and I can focus on getting better while I work on fourth gear.

Correction the game was considered in a good state back when 90% of the content we have rn was added (which is what? couple 1 off work scenes, unfinished massage setup, masturbating) The work spanking is semi-newish I think but again doesn't actual amount to anything due to it's scenario not being finished. Newest stuff are the bus scenes which seem 1 off-ish. But most of what's in the game has been in the game for a long time and has been sitting in that state with barely any new additions for also a long time so the general consensus has left "Oh this is a good blank slate for a game with some potential" due to how long we've been sitting on this blank slate of a game with no scenario finished.

The game currently isn't good, no scenario is finished, it's a looping grind for stats, the work aspect is repetitive af and not fun trying to get scenes there and there's no payoff for doing any of the grind other than seeing it has potential to be good through the like 2-3 unfinished scenarios. People are sticking around mostly because something that had/has potential to be a good game is possibly heading down the route to abandonware. Possible it could be finished but with track records and current progress rate seems unlikely.

Just going by the track history of other games I've seen limping along.. I'm sure next year (after those first 3 month milestones are missed as well) we will be learning about a new chronic ailment currently not known by science or modern medicine.

Yeah, it's hard-capped at 25. The only way to make it higher is to either play a previous version or if there's a way to reverse-engineer the game in Unity but I don't think it's possible without all the project files. It certainly wouldn't be as easy as reverse-engineering an RPG Maker project.
