Although it depends on the music itself, it is usually very generic and the constant loop of the same piece of music is not long to endure.
So yes, most of the time I turn it off. I keep the game sounds on, though.

I mute music immediately in most games. In RPGM, I mute 'BGE' or whatever controls the 'beeps' that come with UI interaction and text scrolling.

Whether or not I mute other sources depends on the game. Sometimes I take the matter into my own hands, like when I "modded" Ecchi Sensei to silence the UI sounds.

I mute 99% of the games I play. The music is usually terrible and most games are not voiced.
But there are a few exceptions. There are a few Japanese games that are worth of turning the sound on.
And there is also Milky Touch which partially voiced (and the voice of the mother is amazing, to say the least) and has exceptionally good music for an adult game.

Most of these games have no real sound other than music and the very occasional sound effect so I see no point in muting them. Some repetitive Kevin MacLeod music is better than complete and utter silence in my opinion.

However, in the rare case that a western game has voice acting I will instantly mute that. I don't know what it is but I can't stand English voice acting in porn games. Maybe it's because they are usual done by amateurs and sound pretty insincere and fake. I think House Party has been the only game I played with voices on.

Try SnowDaze. Probably the best English VA I ever heard in this site.

Yes, most of the time I prefer listening to something else, or nothing at all.

Always. First thing I do when starting a game, is going to settings and mute everything. I don't even wear headphones most of the time, it's an automatic process by now.

Depends on the Game. Some Games have good Music and Effects but if its just generic Elevator-Music I mute it.

Yes whenever my housemate is back in town and that is most of the time (I don't like using headphones), otherwise usually not. I don't mind default RPGM music too much, though I prefer something more original.

quite the opposite, on games where there's any sound I just try to play it without anything else like Spotify, even if it's a complete silence for %80 of time

Why? Well, I don't really love listening to music while playing as they are distracting and most often if I played something from Spotify (particularly if I leave it looping a few songs) I tend to connect porn with that song, so whenever I hear it on the public or something I just remember such times (I know this might be only me thing, but it happened a few times), specially ones that aren't meant to be played as a background, and on some games the music selection is honestly on-point so I don't need to do much

On the other hand, yesterday I played a game that was very silent and had only 1 sound, just 1 sound that lasted 2 seconds at most, in these cases I just listen to some specific few background songs that I like

I often don't have the liberty to play the audio out loud. So mute the game, and play something else.

depends, some games that are like 90% video i will mute for *certain reasons* but if theres just music or light "squelching" sounds in the bg then i likely wont
