Regarding Free Play runs that take a long while,
How do the rival strength calculations work generally speaking?
Is there a way to quickly lower both rival values to keep them from outpacing my growth?
If I can't keep those values low, is it best to ignore the story stuffs until I build a team full of Uber Chads on a level similar to Magic Evo with Thunderstorm?
Is there a limit to the rivals' actual power (The stats of the enemy party you actually fight, not the number in the journal) that I can eventually overcome with equipment upgrades or will it just grow to an infinite amount given enough time?

Back then you had to spam "Sabotage Rivals" with the Insect Queen in the town's "Cave" area to lower their power.

Rejoice, friend: that's no longer the case.

"Tracker" achievement for the new unique tracking feature seems bugged, I recruited several of the characters that were listed in the tracker but none counted up for the achievement's goal.

Cool feature though, that new nephilim unique would have been a nightmare to unlock if I couldn't see the requirements, now it will merely be a pain in the ass.

Dammit, I was just about to finish Challenge 8 and about to fish for last 2 achievements I was missing... is transferring achievement sav still broken?

Changing injuries to heal at 100% Stamina/Morale and the hospital reducing the requirements is a real savior for newer players finding themselves injuring their starters/unique that was carrying them and finding themself stuck. Does reduce the pain of it slightly but the pain of injuries is the same from midgame and beyond. Good choice of removing a friction point for new players.

So it seems like the new version makes recruiting unique NPCs much easier and upgrades them, but the others you don't get on your 'list' won't be present in the run? I guess that's fine, some of the requirements were needlessly complex and virtually impossible without looking it up on the wiki.

Let's talk about Magic Charge

A full team with Symbiosis and Amplified give you 50% bonus magic damage
Druid's support stance granted 30% bonus magic
2 Soul Fragment means 30% magic damage
Lover's start gives 40% bonus magic

That is 150% bonus magic for the entire team from two traits. Symbiosis and Amplified are pretty good.

Outside of that you might take things like Potential, Intelligent, Arcane, Infused (25% bonus), Charging (50% bonus), Poison power(50% bonus), Empowered (20% bonus), Ancient Power (25%), God (50%)

I don't really like Poison power, ancient power due to their limitations, as well as God due to how hard it is to get but if you want to make a alpha strike team for example

And stack :
Amplified
Symbiosis
Infused
Charging
Poison Power
Empowered
Ancient Power
God

You still have two slots left for whatever

And those traits should give you 370% bonus magic on the first round.

So a measly 20 magic would hit for nearly 100 etc

Though since the layman won't bother modifying the files themselves(too scary) you are also skimping on cheating, sure you can earn achievements but you probably can't earn genetic traits, nor gallery entries. At least from my early testing but maybe that code got changed awhile back. Doesn't really matter since I do this mainly for myself and my very specific needs to cheat lightly.(and by lightly I mean ignoring combat altogether with backspace.)

actually i only did that because there was a time when you were very late with your update so i decided to do it myself and to share it here for other people to try and also for archiving purposes coz i probably wont remember any of how to do that in a few weeks. And now i went through the code a bit more and found new entries that were useful so i decided to repost it.

If someone could tell me how to unlock stuff in the unlockables file without having to do it manually in the game that would be great.
