Save type
This option configures how the player can save and load their progress and interact with the chosen game mode.

Here you go, straight from the wiki
Limited (x1.3)In Town (x1.0)Always (x0.8)
Player can load up to:
3 times in Short,
5 times in Normal,
10 times in Long,
50 times in Free Play.
Each time a save file is loaded, the counter goes down by 1, when it reaches 0, the player may not save that particular game anymore.
Double check for accuracy, and it looks like you can load the same file several time, but if you, for example, quicksave and quit to menu, then quickload back in and quicksave again and repeat two more times (on 15 days/fast game length) you will lose the ability to save.
So to answer your question, yes, quick saves are affected.
You can also make 2 save files, try out stuff on file 2, like use up 8 save charges, then load back to save file 1 and reset back to one save charge used as the tracker counting down is connected to specific saves and not the run itself.

I hope this explains it well lol.
Thanks for in-depth explanation. Although, I meant autosaves (the ones game automatically creates on day change) not quicksaves. Guess this is true for them as well.

I thought this option was intended to limit savescumming, but it seems it actually forces you to not close the game.
Mb I should install it on virtual machine and suspend it every time I want to quit))

Yup, i completely agree, i said as much when they asked for feedback on whether it was good idea to try and simplify the game, that and that complex games are my preference as they hold my interest longer.

The main issue i see is just that the game needs a better tutorial, and like a glossary/help tab or something i can look up terms for clarification and such. It wouldn't even be that hard to make, just add another option in the escape tab with navigable buttons and some text and images, that and a soundtrack, it's weird how massive the game is not to have a soundtrack.

the dating system is pretty poorly explained though for sure, also i just dislike the three decks and RNG factors, takes way too much time to make one good deck let alone three.
0.31 still, pretty long way to go to full release. As I understand, author of the game works solo on it, so getting soundtrack could be not priority task, you better do things gradually what is important to actual game play, everything else is afterwards. As for tutorial, game has steep start and not so intuitive at beginning, some mechanics could be explained better, still if it's solo dev and early version, those things should be expected. First game play and critical things, after that everything else if at all. Also artist can be lousy musician and God like writer, can be lousy musician and artist, so yeah, it's not so simple. And of course, someone can write tutorial or something like that, for explaining things. Solutions, walkthru's and guides are the thing reaching darkest ages of computer gaming.

i don't think we have 69(nice) more updates till completion, though i could 100% be wrong, that'd be sick.
The closest thing to a roadmap we have is the To-Do list in the discord:

  1. TODO until 1.0
    Finish stuff:
    - Dating (personality/interests)
    - sexanimations/closeups for combat/training/dates etc.
    - endings/ pictures for events etc.
    - some story stuff
    - descriptions for everything
    - clothes for all characters. And update some old sprites.
    - update town locations + a lot of new events
    - jobs rework
    - more quest types
    - better Ai

    New:
    - Sidequests for unique characters
    - Threats (each run you'll get a random threat, making things harder in a certain way, but enabling unique rewards)

    Optional:
    - Tournaments (manage a lot of your characters throughout a series of fights, choosing who fights/rests next...)
    - Item prefixes/suffixes: "Burning ironsword of strength +2" etc.
    - new base species or spirits (Electric, Ice,)
    - Various minigames to breed characters for, unrelated to combat.
    - Sound?
    Could add infinitely:
    - Species/Uniques/Biomes/Events/Items/Skills/Traits/Achievements...

    Currently working on:
    - town/dating events
    - finishing story stuff/ending
Syvaron has stated in the PoP discord that they don't know how to do music or sound design and so it's not a priority, it is still weird that seven+ years into development we do not have a soundtrack, maybe if their patreon ever brings in enough we'll see it, but who knows?
I do believe Syvaron is the sole developer, and i agree that mechanics come first, but we have what is effectively a diamond in need of polish now, i know there are couple goals Syvaron has stated to complete still before polishing it all up, but we're real close, unless they decide to go for broke and get all the optionals in the game too, or if the game gets more scope creep.
I do disagree on the tutorial, we're 7 years into development, and i believe on our second iteration of the tutorial, and yet i am still explaining very basic game mechanics to people because the game does not have a glossary or sufficient tutorial, a LOT of the game is esoteric, which is why i recommend playing with the wiki open, i love this game, but it has some galring weak points and the approachability is one of them, it's the second biggest reason i check F95, i want this game to succeed but it's hard to do that when half the player base gets confused and gives up before they get hooked, a better tutorial and glossary could solve a lot of that.
My friend you are preaching to the choir, nearly half my comments are in this board informing people how to do X or how system Y works, i'm currently working on a tutorial video for the game in general and how to do the achievements when i get free time, that doesn't mean the game couldn't have those systems added, and Syvaron is absolutely capable of doing so, and making the game more approachable is a focus for them atm anyway.
All this to say, i'm not listing of the games sore spots because i dislike it, i am doing so because i truly love this game, and i want it to succeed, and part of that is recognizing where it could use work.

So it seems work on descriptions is one of priorities, let's see how it plays out, making tutorial/guide wont hurt thou. And yeah, my suspicion dev not so good making sound, was on spot. Well, nobody perfect, not to critical issue and probably can be rectified by some stock sound/music pack (if dev decides so), still won't hold fingers crossed for sound becoming a thing in this game very soon if at all.

In the version 31 changelog, under 'Dating', it says, "Currently Mc can't be paired in the farm..." Does that mean that we're eventually be able to do that?

Is there a way to change genetics, aside from advanced alchemy potion in farm?
Genetic max level can be increased with a MaxLevelPotion, need lightshards though.
Other than that i think you're looking at like MC abilities like Corruption can increase the genes of someone they corrupt, or like a spirit using Reshape is technically a change to genetics...
but for regular units you have already hatched you need to stick them in the breeding stocks like you are (i presume) doing.
You can raise growth rates with divine favours which is similar?
Are you like trying to make a unique actually useful? If it's not a unique i'd just breed a better variant :)
