My review of Price of Power [Ch. 12]
A game that starts pretty great!
MC goes on an exciting adventure with his female childhood friend...
After the exciting adventure phase is over though (around chapter 6?) it quickly becomes clear that:
- Your choices are currently meaningless (you just win 1-2 scenes differently) and this is essentially a KINETIC NOVEL (Supposed to change in later versions according to the developer)
- The childhood friend is your FORCED LOVE INTEREST and she will have sex with you with or without your consent
- There will be no more excitement because everything that will happen in the next few chapters is being spoiled in advance
- Your forced love interest basically takes over as MC, while you just tag along without having any choices
...eventually I just couldn't continue because the story became way too boring.
Otherwise there isn't that much to complain about:
- Game has decent soundtrack, but lacks variety (just a few different tracks over and over)
- Renders are good quality and there are plenty of them, but they lack variety as well (99% take place in woodlands or in generic medieval houses)
If you like the forced love interest and don't mind kinetic novels then maybe this is a 4/5.
But for me it just got way too boring, having zero choices and all.
I probably would rate this lower than 3/5 if I forced myself to continue playing.
