AI art is promising for one-man and small team projects that are operating on a shoestring budget. It allows you to mock up *something* that is aesthetically pleasing while focusing on something else, like the writing. Art tends to sell visual novels, while story/writing makes them worth playing. AI art can help close the gap so bad or nonexistent art doesn't make a project non-viable. It also has the potential to make games less generic by replacing stock content in, for example, RPGMaker games. Of course shovelware devs will make shovelware, but I feel like AI art can make a genuine contribution in the indie space in the right hands.

I think they should be allowed, just need to be tagged so people are aware of it and know that before deciding to support the developer of these games.

Yeah, I also don't mind it exist, just like there's fetish for everyone.
Would not stop me from judging them, but I would also not going to forbid them from making it.
Just one rule though: They admit they made it using AI (hence the tag) and also share or credit to whoever's art they use to make their AI art.

Otherwise, they can fuck off.
I don't really need art made by AI to jack off.

There's nothing wrong with AI generated art. It's just a bit difficult to render the same characters in multiple different images. The image also can be edited to perfection, the fact that the base image is generated isn't important.

We are just at the beginning of AI and it's already fucking good. Soon it'll be perfect. Not only will the AI generate the art, but it'll also generate the story. It'll be better than any humans can create.

Seriously, the next step for AIs will be to have an understanding of space. Elements of images will have spatial dimensions and location. They'll be rendered perfectly. Then, the next step after that will be to understand function. How objects in space interreact with one another, or even the meaning of abstract ideas. At this point we'll essentially have a general AI. We could be 5-10 years away, it's fucking crazy.
