[Patch 21b]
Writing:
⠀⠀⠀The writing is very competent for a parody, where it stays true to the canon where it matters, but not too much where it would detract from a "porn game experience", all the while cleverly mocking all the cartoon tropes which made the original so silly (tbh don't remember much as the last time I've seen the show was like 15 years ago). The characters are well-written with sorta believable personalities and motivations. Your progress with them is fairly slow-burn, albeit in some cases I get a feeling that it's dragging on artificially such as with Tara (and the end result was very unsatisfying). The ever-presence of junior is quite annoying and frankly redundant. The feeling that he watches your every step isn't very pleasant. Also the whole "you have to repeat your previous life to a tee or you'll die" sub-plot just to motivate our MC to build a harem is kinda lame, I did not like this bs at all.
Gameplay:
⠀⠀⠀What about sandbox? Is it that bad? Erhm, not really. It's not bad nor good, pretty average as far as sandboxes go. You're not forced to abuse your LMB as much as in a cookie clicker, but you will likely be met with sections where you click on everything in hopes of triggering some new event. This is in part due to the lacking questlog. Not only it's not always telling you exactly what to do, but even when it does, the methods of getting there aren't always obvious. For example, in the Bonnie quest it says "I will go and buy what I need", I mean I know what I have to buy and where, because I've just read the dialogue, but what if I've forgotten or haven't been paying attention? Now what? Anyways I go to the store to buy the thing and ....... I can't, because the game did not tell me how to earn money yet, because it turned out I had to do someone else's quests first. Yeah, so, you can't progress the girls however you want as their story-lines are intertwined and all the quests have dependencies which are sometimes explained, key word being "sometimes". Thankfully there aren't many available locations so at least you will not be THAT lost. Also it helps a little that sometimes the place that you have to go is marked with green. You can repeat the same exact small talk with girls infinitely for no good reason and I think this feature should be cut as it's too distracting and doesn't provide any actual content. There is currency and the store, so do we have to grind? Not really, you will not have to spam work too much to afford all the story progression items, tho there are a bunch of gallery photos for you to spend all your left-over currency. The restaurant shares that you buy seem to give you an arbitrary amount of passive income, which is going to be very low regardless. It also seems that their cost fluctuates randomly. At first I thought that they simply weren't worth the investment, but it turned out that you have to buy them to progress, so whatever.
⠀⠀⠀Now, choices, you can progress the girls (except Kim's mom) in two routes sort of like 'love' or 'lust' way, the main difference is dialogue and scenes. There are choices that give you plus points to this and that, affecting some of the future options, and then there are choices that are just cosmetic/flavor. What I despise is the final category of choices that do absolutely nothing as the main character gets immediately interrupted right after making the decision, and the author uses these A LOT.
⠀⠀⠀Game is a little buggy. First, we have typos. Surprisingly more of them in the first half and less with later updates. Character sprites sometimes overlap each other, even worse other times they are standing right over the textbox and I can't fucking read anything. There is no check for Monique's dress, so you can hand it over to her before you even buy it. Also Mr. Barkin interrupts you even if you do it outside of class, which is an obvious oversight. There is one Ann's quest that just does't trigger. Sometimes places highlighted with green even when they currently have no events. Sandbox navigation begins lagging the more you play. Various other mishaps which I don't remember at this point, but nothing game-breaking.
Erotic content:
⠀⠀⠀The game has very abrupt pacing when it comes to sex stuff. To start off, when you begin playing, you're very far away from any erotic scenes and the teasing is pretty weak (usually just a pic of a half-naked character). As it stands the game's first 70% is basically SFW as the focus here more on the dialogue and character building. But then you get to a point where the pacing goes 180° and there is sex and nudity almost non-stop. as for the scenes themselves, there are no animations, but I think that the present 2-frame slideshow is good enough as it is. Sex scenes are medium in length, feature some good illustration work and adequate naughty talk. Unfortunately the sound design is lacking as the music doesn't fit the mood and there are no sound effects.
I think the final score is somewhere between 3 and 4, but I'll round up because there was a lot of genuine effort put into this and the final result is mostly competent.
