This is a tricky game to write a review for. It's like a semi-open world game with currently - five graphic novels mixed into it. The graphic novel parts (files), which are like missions, are truly five star worthy right now. The semi-open world part of the game isn't as good but it has potential to be very good if it gets more development. The game feels a bit unbalanced right now.

    Positives
Excellent world building! Multiple "worlds" actually. The main world and currently four others, are rich and full of story details. They are home to some fascinating characters. The missions are very interesting. There isn't a lot of player agency with the missions, but they are a joy to read and experience. A lot of work has went into writing those parts of the game and you can feel the passion shine through.

    Negatives
The semi-open world part of the game is very underdeveloped in comparison to the graphic novel style missions. It makes the overall game feel unbalanced. It's hard to explain, but it's almost like the player character feels more real during the missions when there are very few choices to make, and less real when at home, in a semi-open world with lots of choices. The player character just feels a bit disconnected from the semi-open world interactions. Everything feels immersive during the missions, but not when you are allowed to roam around at the agency and interact with NPCs. The player character also feels inconsistent at times. Sometimes I feel like I'm in control of my own character, sometimes I don't feel that at all.

    Outlook
I do think that the negatives can be easily fixed as development continues. If the player character and the interactions with potential love interests can receive as much passionate writing as the graphic novel style missions have received, this game will be amazing! The ability to transform your body is in early access, but it is the main part of the game that I'm looking forward to. Hopefully, as you change yourself physically and mentally, the NPCs will acknowledge and respond accordingly.

Personally, I'm loving Lucy as a romanceable character. I see a ton of potential in Morgan, who could easily become my top choice if made available. Right now, the interactions with Morgan feel a bit too limited. I wish there was more dialogue options and maybe an alternative path to avoid making Morgan angry.

This review regards the Chapter 4 update. A TL;DR version is at the end.

The Daedalus Project was kind of a spur of the moment 'what the hell' download for me and I am really glad I took the time to look this one over.

First, it should be said that a lot of clever world-building went into this game, which puts it head and shoulders above a lot of erotic offerings. And the choice to go with a thoroughly mid-century aesthetic and tone gives the parallel world hopping adventure the feel of one of Heinlein's 60s-70s novel. These are competent, confident sexy people doing amazing things by any means necessary. Your character just isn't sure if they are doing the right things. That lends the game a great hook that makes it far more interesting than another click-fap game.

The two missions I've played so far have been good. Surprisingly good, to be honest. I am a gay dude, so the first one wasn't particularly interesting to me on a romantic level, but man, that story. I love a good crime story and this was that. It was like playing Fiasco (the RPG) or reading Elmore Leonard. Bad people doing bad things and getting bad results. I don't want to spoil it, but it was a great opener to the concepts of the setting and tugged at the heartstrings a little.

The second mission was, the way I played it, queer as hell. And I have to give them double points for throwing in a bottom character who is neither a simpering sissy or a mindless drone of a sub. There was fire and wit and charm in there and a sense that he was trying to live life on his terms in a time and place where that was always going to be hard and likely to be fatal. And not to pretend I'm just in it for the literary thrills, the sex scene was pretty damned good.

In both missions there were clear moral choices to be made and they weren't pat and easy ones, either. I loved that. It added a layer of sophistication to the storytelling that elevates it above most of the offerings in this medium.

Also, this is a game where not just your story choices but your stat choices matter. How you shape your character directly impacts your chance of succeeding at various tasks in the game. If I have one complaint about The Daedalus Project it is that at least for these two (hopefully) early missions, the game very much rewards being a generalist, rather than a specialist.

The inclusion of photographic porn is handled well, in my opinion, and didn't jar me away from the stylized assets of the rest of the game. The images were well-selected, hot and on-point for a given scene, without really becoming the focus of it.

And lastly, the meta-narrative between missions, the politics and daily life in the culture of the company, is nicely mysterious, morally shady and you just know there is a second act twist coming at some point. I can hear Wash from Firefly in the back of my head saying 'Curse your sudden but inevidable betrayal!' I just don't know if it will the protagonist or one of his co-workers doing the betraying. I really want to know what the larger agenda might be.

TL;DR version: I am deeply impressed and hoping to see much more of this game, even with skipping all the het sex scenes. If you like Heinleinesque Spy-Fi adventure with optional sexy times, this one might be for you. It certainly worked for me.

Love the scenarios and the general aesthetic of the 50s and 60s. Started playing on Ch.2 but it didn't have that much content so waited until Ch.3 to give a review. I'm liking the characters so far, although you can't interact that much with them since the game is in early development. I also like that you can choose whether or not to fuck someone and the way you can roleplay your character while playing with Lucy. That makes for a nice story building. Definitely looking forward to see how Kitty and the lord will surprise us! I really miss the kinky aspects shown in their previous game TWOB. Would love to see more of that here!

PS: It doesn't have futa content for now although its a featured tag, but I read somewhere on the Walkthrough that you'll be able to modify your body in later updates, so it looks like you could become a futa if you like.

I really like the game but I wanted to ask if you could include maybe more Futa content? I thought it would have futa because of the tag in the description but I haven't found any is it that I haven't found it yet or that there isn't any?? Also I think this would be great if it had more transformations and other things like that, maybe a furry world or a sex change world? Or maybe even a femdom world that would be really good like a futa on male and things like that thanks

A promising start defiantly. Obvs this is an early version, but I think if the devs work on resolving some gameplay issues this can be a great game! I like progression in games, but I'm not sure how it's going to work since there doesn't seem to be many customizations right now though that might change in the future. The images are well chosen and the sorry is interesting! I will definitely play the next version
