I'm currently developing an HTML game, and I'm a big fan of puzzles; therefore, there will definitely be at least one puzzle in my game (very later into the game though). Anyways, I was wondering if adding a challenging puzzle will be off-putting to the players, especially since it's a porn game. What do you think?

Personally? I am all for puzzles. Being ambidextrous I can multitask. *cough* Regardless. after "researching" at least two thirds of the catalog in my journeys here. I'd say the best way to do it is to have it a s a side quest. To unlock additional content that is not relevant to the main story. Like extra sexy scenes, character poses in outfits etc etc. Have it as an added bit of fun that the player can choose to participate in and not lock vital content behind. Not everyone can work their brain and genitals at the same time, after all.

Most people don't find it "appealing" to say the least especially if it is difficult. If you want to add it than simply make it optional with a persistent choice set in preferences.

Fair enough. It's probably the better solution. Thanks, Vee!

Personally, I'd find it difficult to multitask in that situation; you have my respect. Seriously though, thanks for your reply, Orgitas!

Something being a porn game doesn't mean that you should fill it with nothing but porn, or you'll lose the 'game' part.
Anyway, i would make it skippable but offer some cool reward for solving it.
A cool item, a hidden quest, some kinda hint for something, or perhaps even something dirty like getting to strip someone if you solve it.
Give it some thought and planning. ;):coffee:

Yes! Yes! And, yes! That's exactly the point many people miss. Everyone's replies gave me some more insight. Thank you, VoidTraveler!

If it's a puzzle game, then by all means. If it is not a puzzle game, but another type of game that has a random puzzle pop up at certain points, you'll annoy at least a portion of your audience. How much they're annoyed depends entirely on how good/fast/easy/challenging/engaging the puzzle is.

I'm by no means planning on creating more than 2 puzzles in the game, and there would be a big content interval between the two. But, yes, I got it: nothing too challenging in the future. Thanks, tanstaafl!

Think the best solution would be to have the puzzles optional or skip/auto solve option, some people like the challenge but most are more interested in the story or a quick fap that having to rake your mind or remove yourself from a situation to sort out a puzzle interrupts.
