So as Im sure everyone is at this point, Im having a go at developing my own game, I just want an opinion on if people would rather have quicker/larger updates with a slightly worse quality picture/animations. Or have a better quality game render wise but have it take way longer to develop. Making good renders on my PC takes Daz an hour and a half per render using IRay, at that rate ill have 1 chapter done by like June. Just want some views on the topic

If the amount of time which requires you to update the game is also equivalent to a high quality update full of content, then you can take your time, however you have to keep this consistent, if there's a scenario where you can't do so, it's better to be transparent about your circumstances than not, look at LT and find me a person who actually likes it's dogshit upload schedule.
Just put out actual updates with actual content, how long you take doesn't matter if you actually put in the level of work expected for that amount of time

If it's your first game, choose the third option. Keep the game short and don't worry too much about quality because the first game always sucks. Focus on making the game actually complete and learn from it.

In general, I prefer quality and skip quick updates to the point where they make a difference because there is no point downloading somthing that don't add much to the game.

Want to add, do it on your own schedule and not to others.

Sure getting something out real quick might appease people in the moment but will it look good in the end when it's coming time to compete it?

Probably not, because you was thinking in the moment to keep people happy that don't really owe you anything. Owe yourself.

You should as well improve render speed with scene parameter. If there is no closeups reduce resolution. Make all textures darker and more saturated and reduce transluency. Transluency and refraction are hard to render. Check if there is a possibility to change refraction for opacity.
Other tricks - separate renders for background and characters. Sometime you can use 1 background (or parts) for few pictures rendering figures with different poses. You must only obtain proper hdri light (hdri - fastest render).

I think the question isn't really about quality. It is about art style.
So you should ask what do i want to convey with my render.

A NVidia card will make your renders faster and perhaps with some Iray camera even faster.

Personally, animations are the very last thing i would worry. For one, animations aren't conveying anything besides the sex act. So they kind of useless for story purposes. They bloat a game. If i would want to play something moving, i would play a real game.

So concentrate on your story, the mechanics you want to have and worry less about the quality.
A game should tell a story, take the player in to a world that can't be experienced in real life. The message is what really counts. In my personal opinion, sex isn't what makes a story but how characters are defined.

You will have to find a balance between quality and quantity. And, keep it simple.

Currently using a GTX 1650, so not the best in general
I salute your boldness asking for quantity in that case...

Dont get me wrong , as I salute all hobbyists making games, but asking for any kind of choice with that hardware baseline is like asking for trouble. To use an analogy here: i own a screwdriver and offer to pimp the neighbours car ;)

Your bottleneck from that statement is and will be all that time that your machine is tugging away on renders. Which might limit your access to the machine for anything else. You cannot afford to be very fancy in terms of time either, since your rendering setup will dictate the overall speed in other words.

that depends broo if the updates gonna be about bugfixes it needs to be fast ; if its about content and story the more is the merrier always but you cant always go with big updates all the time especially if your PC isnt good for rendering.

so my humble opinion is this: even if its gonna be small, if its gonna be a part of a big thing then do it good. if its a side job(fr example a side quest) you can lower the quality to gen more. thats makes your game more full and make the side quest more fun to play
