RPGM - Completed - Queen Of Succubus [Final] [Shrines Gate]

I normally do very long, thoughout reviews giving my opinions on the game. That is not happening here. The game has tons of issues, more than half the posts on this thread are people just trying to get it to play. Animation is always nice, but it doesn't mean anything if you can't play the damn thing. Avoid this.

This game was extremely promising, however it's severely held back by how broken it is. It's got some good ideas but awful execution.

While there are high quality animated H scenes, you'll mostly be seeing the same 2 positions (doggy style and missionary) repeated for every event. There are other scenes, like the occasional BJ and defeat CG, but 99% of the time you'll be seeing the same 2 scenes.

Despite the small quantity of scenes, for reason the file size is nearly 5GB. I think the reason the game is so huge is because there are costume variants for each scene, but considering how little content there is there's definitely something causing a lot of bloat.

The bulk of the combat is against monster girls who strip after you deal damage to them, but certain encounters will break the game. From my experience, the Alraune, Maid B, and occasionally the Harpy enemies will cause the game to sort of freeze. The game can resume normally if another splash overrides the current one but that pretty much only happens if you yourself end up getting your clothes ripped in return. And of course needless to say, difficulty is all over the place with no semblance of balance to combat encounters.

This game does have its redeeming qualities. The quality and smoothness of the H animations are very much welcome. There's also the main system where you gain the bulk of your EXP by seducing men and taking their energy. Lose events when you have a quest partner also give you EXP at the cost of mind-breaking your partner, so there could have been potential for some moral decision-making.

As unfortunate as it is, this game really could have been something great. Just by implementing more variety of H scenes, it would have been more worthwhile. The way things stands, the game is a broken mess that's nearly unplayable, crap MTL notwithstanding.

this game is kind of weird

in terms of gameplay, it's alright; it's nothing too different from the classic "rpg maker porn game with simple gameplay". it DOES let you use the Temptation spell to have sex with random people in towns, but the novelty of this isn't all that interesting imo; at the very least, said scenes do have variants for every single costume in the game

for bosses, there's scenes from losing to them--however, if you lose to a boss, you won't have a party member with you for the final boss! i believe it's if you lose to any that you don't get a single one, but it might be on a boss-by-boss basis? either way, it means that you can't get all the scenes in one playthrough; some people might like that for replay value (and there IS a newgame plus), but to be honest, the gameplay is not really interesting enough to me for a second playthrough

speaking of, there's costumes! there's a very solid amount of them, which is nice, and each one has a torn variant (excluding the naked one because you know). unfortunately, getting the costumes torn is a bit more of a hassle than some other games; from what i can tell, i'm pretty sure you have to fight enemies for it to happen, and using the game's built-in "kill yourself" button in fights won't rip your costume. as a result, the later on in the game you are, the harder it is to find random enemies to tear your costume

for the actual sex scenes themselves? they're solid! all of them are in Live2D, and i think they make decent use of it; none of the movements feel too weird. however, i personally find the selection is a bit "eh"? at first some of them are nice (the groping one looks particularly quality), but i think many of the scenes just aren't that appealing or unique; the scene with the slime boss and the orc brothers boss are both a bit more interesting, but the rest feel like the same kind of thing you'll find in any other porn game

now, with this all, i would give it a 4 stars rating--but there's an annoying glitch with one of the game's systems. when enemies, the protagonist, or allies of the protagonist get their clothes torn, a little video thing plays to show it tear off, with nice boob jiggle--it's solid! but, for some reason, a lot of the time these videos just don't work properly, and will cover your screen until you close the game or find some way to close it (likely by blind luck). as a result, the only way to consistently play the game without getting stuck in the dark is by going into the files and removing all these videos--and doing so makes the fights a bit less entertaining from a porn perspective.

now, this glitch might just be something based on the translation, but from what i've heard, the original Japanese version sounds just as glitchy? so it's probably not going to get fixed

this game's still not a bad use of time, and i think that it's one of the better ones out there scene-wise that use Live2D--but, unfortunately, i feel like this is the kind of game where it's just a bit too much of a mess to be worth anything other than the gallery, unless you are a really, really big fan of these types of games
