Hi,

Im in the middle of game development .

Creating everything from the beginning is very hard. I would like to use some models downloaded from for example free3d.com, but as i remember royality free license is disallowing of usage in porno games.

And yet I noticed that some developers use them in their games.

I wanted to ask about the legality of such an action. Is there any legal way to use these models on porno game? E.g. making the game available for free and only accepting donations etc?

How you guys are using those models legally?

Alternatively, does anyone know any good website with 3d models (blender, obj etc) where they are for free and there are no such license restrictions?

Best regards,

Obviously, the licenses for models are going to vary. If the license prohibits the model from being used in a porn game, then you can't... legally. The fact that you see them being used doesn't necessarily mean that the usage was technically legal. There is obviously a thriving black market of pirated "paid" models, and many games are created without the assets actually having been properly purchased.

A lot of what you see here was created with Daz Studio. Daz makes some of their models available for free, and the terms of their license is such that as long as you're producing 2D images from the models, you can use them for anything you want. Actually embedding the models into a game to make a "true 3D game" (e.g. "The Twist") is a different matter.

I don't want to violate the rights of third parties too much because I'm not looking for trouble. Unfortunately, this will lengthen the development process itself :)

Many thanks for the info!
