I just have a Question about Genres,

What is the Difference between Harem and Corruption?. Don't they complement each other since the MC is Coercing Girls into his or her Harem, so slowly breaking down targets defences and end up convincing them to join? .

Most harem games are really light-hearted, and most corruption games are about more heavy corruption than just making people be okay with being in a harem.

Interesting, so in a way "Harem" is Corruption-light compared to just "Corruption" which is more hardcore in general.

Harem and Corruption are two completely different things. You can have both things in a game but corrupting girls isn't the only way to get a harem and having a harem doesn't mean that you corrupted your girls into it.

hmm, there is a sense in what you say. Still, I think it's a fine line.

Not necessarily. The corruption doesn't have to be done in a way that the corruptee becomes loyal to the MC.

In Witch Trainer,

In Corrupted Saviors, the corruption is the means to an end, bringing down the superheroines by diminishing their sanity, their self-esteem and the respect of the public towards them.

In iNSight of you,

And then of course, there are all the female protag corruption games where you can be slutty with as many people as the game allows you to. It pretty much never ends in being in a harem.

harem = is when mc is the center of the universe from the opposite sex point of view...
corruption = is when mc try to get the advantage from opposite sex with seduction, blackmail or maybe a gift.
.
corruption usually some kind of "task" and harem usually the "objective", harem is the goal and corruption is one of how you get it.

hmm, interesting. I like the Harem concept however I really like the Corruption Element a little more, transforming the females or males depending on the Protagonist Personality and or physical transformation, however it is the personality change from Shy Conservative girls to the complete opposite side of the spectrum, Super Slutty, The very thing the girls originally despised. in Hotel Harem you have a dungeon to make the guests and your maid into submissives. I hear what you are saying though.

Corruption ~ using various methods of persuasion, enticement and manipulation to get the love interest(using the term loosely here) to open up and explore their own darker (sexual) impulses, until that side wins entirely and the love interest is basically a slave to their most depraved urges.

Harem ~ 1 person(usually male), by intent or by accident/incidentally, collecting a group of love interests together and somehow keeping them together and devoted to him in spite of jealousy, rivals, inhibitions and competition for their attention

One can have both elements--for example, MC finds a mystical pimp cane which enables him to corrupt any woman into being his devoted, willing whore. So the game revolves around "pulling" love interests into an ever-growing stable.

One can have harem without corruption and corruption without harem(the mc "turns out" the love interest before discarding them and moving on)

Isn't it kinda obvious?

Harem originates from having many wives or concubines. Thus in daily usage it implies many, usually girls. A game that has many girls wanting the protagonist can be called harem.

Corruption on the other hand implies change in a person's morals/way of being. The decay of what is good. To break something and turn it into something less favourable.

Does this make sense to you?
