This is a Rance game so I don't really care much about the story. It's okay at best. What I'm looking for are those scenes of the girls + the combat and oh boy it's rough.
Firstly, most of the H scenes got locked behind a progress item which can only be acquired by winning main story battles or complete specific requirements in free battles. This doesn’t sound bad at first until you realise some of them are complete nuts. For example, one match requires you to break a rock before the enemies. But the problem is, that rock is behind all the enemies line while you can’t reach it as well as the enemies will ignore you to smash that rock first. Quest failed, even if you win, you don’t get that item. And sometimes even if you do exactly as it said, it still doesn’t give you the item, which you absolutely need not only to see those scenes but also to receive another item you get after watching to double the skill point you get in battle. Then just do the main story battle right? No, because the combat and difficulty scaling are ridiculous
Basically the combat is fire emblem, you take turns to move in a map and fight when in range. But this isn’t even a good fire emblem because this game has so many RNG bs within it. If you play FE, you will know if you get hit, you hit back, here? Counter is percentage, defense is luck base and all enemies caster focus your backline first, their attack is massive, can’t be dodge or block and their range is global. Around chapter 4, all enemies can one shot your team both front and backline. Not only that, the battle can be sum up as: 1 squad of ~10 vs 2 million enemies.
What can you do to counter this, grind, grind and grind. Invest all the gold you can get into a system so stupid you either quit or use cheat to get past the grind. First the stats get so gold-inflated for so little stats you can gain, each time you gain 1 attack, 1% dodge, ect... Second the weapon, also inflated but here you put the money into a RNG smithing which may or may not upgrade your weapon but still increase the gold. And this is only for 1 character, some maps require a specific char and if you don’t decently upgrade them, they will be absolute trash. Then how can you grind them? I guess you need to grind more battles then, which the skill point drop is dog shit unless you have that item to speed the process up. But how can you even get them in the first place if you can’t win a battle. It’s a tedious loop, it’s bad, just use cheat to bypass all the grind.
Later you have a mobile base in combat which you need to defend as if you’re not already full with your hand. If they get to your base, even more battles then, but here you have to use those trash chars because all the good ones are already in a fight. This base is a tetris consumable feature, you buy upgrades, you use them in battle and are non rechargeable - a way to make you grind even more. And not even a good tetris because you can’t rotate the block.
Overall, Story is okay, scenes are meh, combat is tedious and grindy. If you want some quick fap this is not for you. Even if you like jrpg games, it’s not even that fun.
