It's not a paywall technically. You earn 'gold' from completing stages and you spend the gold the unlock the animations in the gallery. The gameplay loop is a bit tedious and slow though which make the payout not really worth it.

A Paywall would be something silly like "Gallery unlocked if you have X tier in Patreon"

no, im pretty sure they are right. I have enough gold for several images in the gallery, and they ask you to buy the full version to unlock them.

no, im pretty sure they are right. I have enough gold for several images in the gallery, and they ask you to buy the full version to unlock them.

This is what happens if you play the version on itch.io, the gallery is there, but seems that every scene will ask you to go to the author's patreon. I got bored before I got 550 coins.
Hell, the main menu will pester you for patreon support every time you get there.

Click on a space to build a trap, the one that costs 600.
While it's selected, you can press spacebar to capture a mousegirl that's in front of it. After a while, that'll net you 100 money. You can either mouse over or use WASD to select the places and cages.
