VN - Ren'Py - Ravenous [Arc 2 Ep.1] [Lament Entertainment]

I've played a good share of porn games, and I have to say, the game looks quite promising. The characters are gorgeous and the renders are neatly done. The game is superbly done on the lines of incest & loli. The story is okay as of now, but its too early to even judge it.
There are some grammar mistakes, but can be easily ignored. SOme guys here play a free game and expect it to be written by Shakespeare.

Story is kinda boring with cliche characters and it doesn't help with the little content of the game .
Writing needs a little bit of work with typos in the game .
In the end there are few works to be done to make this game a good one , it would be nice if it is done in early stages of the games , rather than doing something like remastering the whole game in the middle .

I'm left confused at this point.

I'm struggling to understand the direction of the plot and what the dev(s) are trying to establish.
So here is some constructive critiques for this update.
1. The writing needs to be adjusted some what. In some dialogues you get complete sentences and in other scenes you get half sentences just to get the rest of what was being said in the next click.
For example when your "Uncle" is talking to you on the phone you get about half of what was being said, and then the rest is left for the next dialogue.
He said: I was hoping we could meet( then the next click)
so I could get to know my brother's son.
That could have been one complete sentence. Feels like the brake is to add more content. Just my opinion.
The story is directionless at this point. Way to many things going on that left me confused about what is actually going on. Confusing but understandable to build up suspense, I guess.
2. Why does the MC look like he is 15? I understand wanting to deviate from the normal MC type that is used in every other VN but come on! How old is the MC? I don't think it even stated his age, but it did say he was finished with school. Confusing as well.
3. Why add ages to some of the women? Just set it in stone from the beginning that they are all 18 and be done with it.

So I think with some tweaks and writing corrections this might be a good VN. I'm not turned off by this VN at all so I will recommend it, and will keep an eye out for future updates. Hopefully they will come faster than every few months and have more than 15 minutes of play involved.

The game seems more polished now after a year of releases but it's now suffering from other problems. The MC is stupid, like.... really stupid. Part of it is plot dictated, part of it is just the MC being an idiot. There's a LOT of "I can't tell you that" and "I'll tell you later" being thrown about which is usually the sign of a weak as hell plot. What makes it worse is in addition to that we get a lot of

Oh you should ask x about that

Then he just straight up forgets. Like Severed head on a table? Meh, not important right now. Statues moving on their own accord? Meh, who cares.

Renders are.... ok, plot is interesting but it's ruined by some horrific low level plot. It's like the Dev knows where they want to get to, and aren't too fussed about the journey to get there and hopes you won't care cause you might see some tits. Like, I know I said this but the MC may be suffering from a brain injury. Like.... he doesn't know he has an aunt and cousin? Now I could understand if he had never seen that side of his family but he was obviously nearly a teen when he left so.... what's up with that?

Interesting premise, character models are good, quite detailed so it feels like the love's been put in there. Too early to really comment on the story, it's still very much in the setting up stage. Lot of threads being dangled which is good as the pacing seems to be fine.

Didn't feel like there was a huge amount of content but it's early doors. Gave it a 3 star as it could go either way, probably needs to cook a bit more to really appreciate what type of game it'll be. The foundations of a great game are there though.

Only issue I could think of is the grammar. Seeing a few instances of were as opposed to we're, that sort of thing. A little polish of the script will probably pay dividends.

Ravenous is still in its early days, but what's here is interesting.

The setting is, essentially, a horror b-movie. The tone thus far is decently creepy, and there's been a lot of effort put into setting up lore and mysteries. Characters have some personality, but it's too early to tell if/how they'll grow.

But holy hell, the grammar.

This game desperately needs a copy editor. The grammar and spelling aren't the absolute worst I've encountered, but they're definitely in the bottom 50%. It reads like the script was written on a phone by someone who hates autocomplete.

This isn't just being pedantic; Ravenous is looking to tell a real story. Proper spelling and grammar is core to that, and it's distracting when it's this poor.

With an improved script, even at this early point in development, Ravenous would be 4 or 5 stars for the effort obviously put in alone. But, until that's fixed, it's just middle-of-the-road.

Good renders, basic story, but my God. As others have mentioned typos and grammar errors every other sentence. Completely takes me out of the experience. My IQ was already low, and this might have lowered it further.

V0.083 preview

Character art style is good and renders are ok. But Main character design needs some change. And about the story, i have nothing to say. Because there is nothing . I still don't know what is going on or what it is about.

The character models are fine, the writing is littered with spelling errors, the writer doesn't even seem to know there is a difference between "your" and "you're."
I know it's petty, but when the mistakes go beyond a certain threshold, it really begins to take me out of the game, that was definitely the case here.
I liked the intro with the newspaper, that was a bit original, of course then the story devolved into the by now usual "family with dark secrets, boy returns to female family members who are already dying to sit on his cock and something mystical."

And it's not just the family, the first female he meets outside of them is also instantly making out with him.
And I got to say, that made me a bit sad, because Candace is a really unusual looking character, freckles, short hair, no humongous tits, but a nice pair, a hot ass etc.
Excuse me going off track a bit by describing a way for the plot to unfold with Candace, I would have hugely preferred:

Let me say something about the MC, because many other reviewers mention him both in a positive and negative way.
Some things are indeed normal, most people when confronted with incest would be shocked and disgusted as well. There is no problem with his initial reaction, it is indeed more realistic than anything else.
Now in regard to his look, the guy is supposed to be a young adult, but he looks like a little kid.
Basically a scrawny 15-year-old boy, no way has he finished school.
Now, this type of guy might look attractive to a lot of younger girls, it might also look attractive to some kid-chasing older women, but definitely not to the by no means small group of ladies, who still like masculine men.
You know, face like an adult, hair in the face and on the chest, a nice built, maybe. And mature enough to be taken serious as a possible love interest.
And again, the guy is supposed to be an adult, not a teenager, at least if he is a teenager, he is supposedly 18-19 y/o.
I don't mind an MC looking like that in a high school setting, but apart from that, we have more than enough of those scrawny kids running around as MCs in games, playing grown-ups. Is there a rule that MCs have to look like little shits in any porn VN with incest in it? Is this supposed to at least partially include the shota crowd? IDK, but for a game with this set-up, with this supposed story, I expected an adult MC, even if it was just one of the 2-3 adult male models you see in most of these games.


I don't mean to shit on this game, it has only very little content for now, this could become much better, just a few updates in, and it's not like it's completely horrible, but for now it is just such a complete pastiche of all the clichés you can think of in incest games, which has a long way to go to become good, in any way original and satisfying. It's just that so many characters in these games look cut and paste and when I stumble upon one who has a different look, I always hope the game does something great with her, not just make her another bitch, hypnotized by MC magic dick.
Again, I don't want to attack the dev, nor the game, it's just starting out, it CAN become something else, something better, but as new games go, this doesn't exactly set the world on fire.

Drawn by the appeal of an incest game that doesn't require a mod or changing landlady to mom, I gave this a shot.

Now few other people may point out the writing and grammar, when I first started playing it's instantly notable, I thought this would be one for the bin, but either it's just at the very beginning or I just didn't really notice later because it never really seems to be an issue after.

The game has a nice set up for a first update, interesting enough premise, attractive women, lots of taboo. Spoilers, I thought it was funny that the son had a normal reaction to the daughter going down on the mom, just goes "nope" and leaves, even if I do expect him to go to pound town on those asses later.

I came for the loli's and stayed for the story.

Up front, there are grammatical issues. I think the dev will work those out over time and I'm mentioning it but not hitting them on it since it's early.

Great story, renders are solid. The mood is set will with lighting and creativity. The story is refreshing and engaging. Not all models are super star bombshells but attractive enough. I like the mix of MILFs and Lolis. Honestly there isn't much to complain about. It's light on content but it's early in the dev cycle so that's forgivable since what is there is really good.

Look forward to this one. Great job Dev and keep up the great work.

Not often do I leave a review but here I had to. There isn't much to the story yet but it has potential, and the renders look quite good. However, as a non native English speaker, I have to say that the grammar is abysmal. The dev can't tell the difference between "your" and "you're", drops an occasional "u" here and there, omits apostophes almost entirely unless trying to write in eye dialect ("ma' " for "my"). Capitalisation is completely random and passes like "i'm wore out" instead of "I'm worn out" are the sugar on top. The entire thing reads like comments on dumbest subreddits and it spoils the entire experience. It really needs a competent proofreader.

This game was really well put together. Good dialog, good renders, interesting plot, sexy character models and even some appropriate music. I'm really interested in seeing more of this game. The only drawback was that there were some typos here and there but that stuff is easily fixed. 10 out of 10 for me.
