RPGM - RealmWalker [v1.5] [SpectralByte]

A bit of a warning before i throw in my review. This game's story is almost complete as of V1.5, so i would recommend you to hold off playing this for now. No need for you to get blue balled by the story.
The two main compliments i can give this game is its story is pretty good and interesting enough to get invested. It’s a bit underwhelming, but it could have been worse. The second positive aspect of this game is its sexual scenes. It has got variety, both in terms of characters you can have the seggs and its various kinks and positions. With a split focus of dominant or submissive positions.
And that is about it for positives. The game map is too raw and uninspiring, the gameplay… is there, and this game has its fair share of glitches, but not enough to knock down a star. In essence, the game feels too raw, the only things that have polish are the renders, sexual scenes and the story(somewhat), everything feels like it got left behind.

suffers from the usual issues with RPGM. walking simulator, excessive grind.
There is a cheatstone in the elf village that gives you levels or gold. very useful.
The equipment is balanced poorly so you want to cheat for about a million gold (many clicks) and buy 200 permanent ATK (in two stacks of 99) to get a decent attack value so you can 1 hit kill trash mobs.

Most girls have a choice between femdom or neutral, occasionally you can be dominant.

95%+ straight content.
there are some token shemale content that is mislabeled as futa despite having no vagina. tits + penis + balls.
you can be both catcher or pitcher.

somewhat buggy.
the gallery is completely broken. save before entering it and load after you are done.

the art is all over the place. there is a mix of anime art, and 2 different 3d graphics. and they are kinda meh.
most of the content is photos you find in treasure chests inside the game. containing the same characters from the game.
Some of the content is you having animated short loops of sex. although it is very slow to develop.

plot is a bit meh. your typical japanese isekai revenge story.
but every villain has a sob story

quests are poorly explained in the game. and you have to rely on the walkthrough which is too basic, just a list of text telling you exactly what to do like a robot. and does not account for the fact that the game is not linear so if you played naturally you might not have done things in the order of the game intent.

I played up to version 1.4 and loved the story. First off, RPGM games where choices actually matter are rare almost non-existent. While the impact isn't quite as much as The Last Sovereign or A Struggle with Sin , the developer is really trying, your choices do carry weight, though I wish there were more of them.

The world building is amazing. It’s not black and white, no one is the 'good guys.' Every character has their own motives, and no one is an absolute victim or villain. can't say much without spoiling it but even the main antagonist is kind of a victim herself!

The actual RPG elements (combat, spells, bosses) are the weak point of the game, but I won't deduct points for that. It's a porn game I didn't download it for the boss fights.

5/5 – I hope the dev continues and finishes the game!

Game Review

From the very beginning, the game shows a solid start. The art and character design really stand out; every illustration feels polished and gives the world a strong sense of personality. The story, even in its early stages, promises to be big and deep, pulling you in and leaving you wanting more.

One of the strongest points is the atmosphere, which quickly immerses you in the game’s tone and setting. It’s clear that there’s a solid narrative foundation and a universe with a lot of potential to grow.
My only hope is that the update pace stays consistent, because a project with this much potential deserves continuous support so it doesn’t end up abandoned. If development stays steady, this game could easily become something memorable.

The game's good, and character designs and story progression are well done as well, just some typos and errors in writing are all that bothered me a little, but that isn't a reason not to give 5 stars, hope we get some scene of pregnancy and MC becoming a father as well, the dev is also quite active and enaging as far as i can see in the discussion.

It is freaking bad, the renders have nothing special and feel outdated. The music is horrendous. The plot is just the typical and topical Isekai BS that you can only enjoy if you're a mouth breathing weabo. I cannot even understand how there's reviews applauding this stupid plot... And I don't want to start with the RPGM map moving nightmare. I'm always okay with games having map movement if I have different options, but if 90% of the time, everything is about moving from the point A to the point B it feels quite stupid...

a nice enough fantasy plot, with average renders, terrible angle choices, poor to average writing delivery, and the engine that should have been moved on at the turn of the century, but is now so far behind it may as well go backwards and meet the rest coming from the OTHER end.

i can't code so no idea how hard is the switch so i didn't factor this in to my rating anyway.
there is a walkthrough added to download, which is a sure sign of bad design, as you need it to find 'where next' and 'what have i missed'.
i was already stuck when the game asked me for the name of some dragon, which was BEFORE the bloody walkthrough even started.
not like it was a name i have used, read, spoken a hundred times enough for it be considered a 'household' name after all. ya couldn't use something like Gandalf or Puff dev?

the bonus images were a weak affair for me, i have seen porn. i have also played other adult games. i was not remotely aroused, but then i am more aroused by situation than imagery anyway, plus the game leans more to sub mc anyway. tries to offer both but there is an obvious preference.
there are lots of blowjobs, which is great if you want to look at MC's dick, but not so much if you wanted to see the women.

BUT, don't let my rating fool you. there are real shiny glimmers sparkling through this hill. signs that a rich vein lays beneath. given time and a little more care to iron the silly mistakes out, this could hold an audience.

i cannot say the design choice is bad as i can imagine this as both a sandbox grinder AND as a Visual Novel, with much more dialogue, action scenes and world building, snapping along with pace, but i also see this as an intro into that being a future possibility.

it's just almost....with enough minor faults to pull it down a star for me. a solid 3 nudging the half otherwise.
either way i do hope dev keeps polishing that rough talent as , even though i am no expert, seems obviously there to me

I enjoyed the game. I think the dev did a good job minimizing the walking simulator problem of RPGM. Couldn't get rid of it because that's just RPGM but still minimized it by a good amount. I also see the vision of making the enemies PC level scaled. It did make it easier to replay from the beginning. The story is fine, the sex scenes are good, pacing isn't bad, and while there is a walkthrough you could also go through it without it. It's not like some games where without a walkthrough it's like navigating a puzzle the whole game to try to progress.

I don't mind the futa chaacters, I just hope going forward any futa on female is avoidable and not just skippable. What I would also like to see is"stealing" the futa's bitch and any future bitch's from other characters, dominating and showing superiority over any futa's. Futa's are in a weird spot for me where they're LI's and rivals so I would like the option to show superiority over them.

Overall a solid game.

Pretty good gameplay and if you follow the walkthrough included in the files it's easy to complete the mission.
The scenes are pretty hot and the futa character is a great addition.
Plot is also quite unique and intriguing.

I am rating this game with 5 star even there are couple of things need to be improved.

Cons: The map need to be updated with names of places when you over mouse. kind od mix up when the walk through name places but not shown on the map.

Fun isekai with a simple but engaging story. Characters are well-made and models look great.
Gameplay is the usual RPGM, decent but gets repetitive after a while.

The scenes are a highlight, especially the femdom optional routes, which are surprisingly well done. Hoping for more in future updates. Definitely worth a shot if you enjoy the genre.

This is a game with great potential, featuring excellent models and rendering. If the author can improve in writing, task design, graphics, and animation, I have no doubt that it can reach the height of peasants

Average isekai premise but with great models and renders, held back by pretty bad writing and general RPGmaker issues. The combat, the questing, it's all incredibly tedious, should have just been a renpy VN.

Honestly it would have still been worth a play had it not been for the generic RPGmaker experience. If I wanted a 90's JRPG experience I'd go play chrono trigger. Nobody wants this grindfest bullshit.

Review for Demo

While I think the foundation of a decent RPGM game exists with this demo, so far this game really fails to set itself apart from the crowd so to speak.

It's a pretty generic set up as far as these types of stories go. Killed by a truck trying to save a damsel in distress, isekia'd by a priest into a new world, and then cast aside by said priest when you don't show the potential they are looking for. Wow that sucks! I must get revenge! Good thing this convenient sword and magical companion are here to deem me as the chosen one.

As that might clue you in, the writing is by far this games biggest downfall so far. The originality isn't so much my problem, but just the almost complete lack of real depth in pretty much all of the writing. The MC was previously overweight living a shitty life, which could lead way into some introspection and such being in this new world given this new body. Or maybe as someone going from a modern world to now having to do real combat, or learning magic spells, etc etc, any type of self reflection or demonstration of adapting to this new world could be cool. But nope, none of that. None of anything really. He's just incredibly generic and forgetful. Also not a fan of him immediately calling the girls he sleeps with "sluts" and such during dirty talk but I digress.

Same deal with the other characters so far. Everyone naturally falls for the MC's "charms", lack depth, and honestly just aren't interesting. I'm not really sure how else to put it. I will say the models look pretty nice at the least.

On the RPG front it's mostly what you'd expect. Standard combat and equipment system with a lack of anything unique to spice it up. I'm not a fan of the random encounters and much prefer being able to see walking enemies on the map, but it's nice you can always run away. I seen the game wanted me to grind out levels in a cave and immediately went to use cheats instead. I'd much rather level up through quests and unique encounters instead of fighting the same enemies over and over.

If this is intentionally going for a more simple sandbox-y grindy experience then sure I suppose it's on track for it, but nothing really hooked me as far as the story and characters go. It's only a demo though, hopefully some more development flips my opinion on this.

The intro does have me divided. Now, nothing wrong with the main character having flaws. A shut in who is overweight and still living with his abusive parents. Though did kind of want to show a sort of spice. A call to adventure where the MC does not mind hardship if it means a reward. Whether it is satisfaction in being a hero or wanting to sleep with a woman. How the real world is rather boring without monsters to fight and princesses needing saving and lusts for adventure only video games can provide him. As is, just found him a bit too wimpy in the personality department. Did like his psychic though of showing him not exactly the warrior of legend.

Also recommend adding in some sound to the scene when the MC Iseki-ed. Just nothing going on as you read the text while in a fantasy world can be a bit boring. Maybe soft medieval music to help you get used to the setting. Or a light ping for each text box that appears.

And a small detail, give the queen a chair next to her old husband the king. Feels weird that the queen does not have a chair to sit down next to her husband.

As for the character’s change in body type, not going to lie I wanted him to keep the fat body psychic. Would help convince the council to throw you away like garbage. Would also be a great way to show the characters growth as he gradually loses fat and replaces it with hard muscle.

Was surprised the music came back so soon but is a welcome comeback to get you hyped for touching the crystal, only for it to turn black. And do like this. How you did nothing wrong but circumstances outside your control said you are gifted in dark magic. How quickly they saw you as a failure and would like to send you back to your world if not for the Demon Lord. Actually showing the Demon Lord having an influence on the story instead of just being a passive bad guy.

Like how you can pick up plants as well. Gives the world an even bigger reason to go explore it. Also the crack in the starter area that leads to a treasure chest was also great with the game even hinting at such a thing being possible with the journal near the skeleton.

Back to the story, am very surprised the MC is already thinking of revenge on the priestess who sent not only him but others to their death in the dungeons. Now, do not get me wrong this is what he should be feeling, righteous rage. The problem is he should also be feeling terror. Absolute terror. He just fought two wolves and got scratched up bad and is about to fight an enemy the previous party failed to kill. Even if he wants to attack the priestess, want him to have some survival instinct of, ‘Need to prepare. Need to get stronger and get out of this dungeon.’ He has the advantage of everyone thinking he is dead. Though will admit, do love how the MC actually does show some intelligence later. How he knows that if he does get out of here, needs to learn more about the world before openly confronting the priestess.

Love the outfits for the characters. The queen’s and the priestess Kalytha were my highlights. The cat that shows up in the artwork is also great. Even the enemy sprites were well detailed. Like the cave wolf looking like a real wolf but also a little sickly. Even giving the cave wolves different fur color. Little touches like that are greatly appreciated.

And one thing I absolutely loved in this game is the amount of side quests you can do. Sure, you can farm items from monsters to sell but love how the game has plenty for your player to do. From collecting crystals in a cave to defeating an orc, there is plenty to do to keep the player engaged. If the game is expanded, be sure to have plenty of these small quests to keep the player occupied.
