The update was promised to arrive a lot earlier, but it has not. I hope the next update is big and provide with us with a lot of content.
A confederate dollar has more value than a developer promise.

I mean if you are right (as in there's no incest undertone to the whole story), then obviously she can't be his daughter, period.
I tried it both ways, official and with the fan made incest patch, neither sounds very realistic if you ask me, but the incest patch allows for the red herring you mentioned to be an actual thing within the confines of an AVN, without it she becomes "just" an extra sexy secretary (who has a secret agenda of her own of course).

We'll see where the story goes, but I think I'd rather just let the dev tell his story rather than rewrite it just to shoehorn incest in. If the story feels better to you with incest then go ahead and use the fan patch. But IMO the story works fine as written, especially given the tone of the story. Grieving widow striking up a romance with an old family friend works better in the context than a 40 year old horning up on his late 50s mother who's still grieving the death of his own dad. Just doesn't fit the tone.
Like I said before if incest fits into this story at all, it'll probably be from MC accidentally banging his daughter before realizing who it is. Grace/Chloe incest seems awkward, unnecessary, and distracting to me though.

Oh no don't get me wrong, I get your point, and it's absolutely a valid one.
All I'm pointing out is that reason incest isn't the official version, isn't a a credibility one, is due to the payment processors nuking everything on Patreon/etc...
- Does the story work even without incest? Oh yes absolutely.
- Is it better without it? Debatable, seems fine both ways to me.
- Does it reduce the narrative possibilities? Yes because the option of her being the daughter is completely out of question, and we already know it because he wouldn't be able to have his VN on Patreon/Steam/etc otherwise.

but i am pretty sure the dev didn't thought the VN would become this much popular.
but now the VN is in the spotlight, which makes easier to get banned from platforms like Patreon, if it has the slightly indication of incest on it.

I honestly wish I were a more creative person because the level of mental gymnastics and imagination combined with a herculean suspension of disbelief needed to make this game work without the incest is utterly insane.
Either that or you chop off half your brain.

Ignoring your being a rude asshole about it, my opinion about it surrounds specifically Grace and Chloe, not the situation with the yet unidentified daughter. I never said there won't or can't be incest, I'm saying there's not incest yet, considering that the grace/chloe incest was dropped completely after the beta (and speculating the reasons for that aren't really relevant).
I think canon incest is definitely possible with later chapters involving the daughter. Grace and Chloe do not feel related to MC at all and there is no taboo in their interactions at all unless injected by the fan mod. If you actually bother reading the vanilla dialogue without the fan mod, you'd know the game works perfectly fine with the canon grace/chloe relationships. Too bad you can't ass yourself to do even that before making ignorant and insulting comments.

If you found that rude, you might be a little too sensitive to be on the Internet. I urge you to read it again because I cannot fathom how you can possibly take any offense to what I typed. If you are on that camp, at most I called "you" creative and said you have imagination and a strong capacity to suspend disbelief.
But moving on, I did try the vanilla version and strongly beg to differ. As someone who wishes every dev who wants to purge incest from their game would do so while leaving a plausible story that still makes sense, this AVN fails miserably at it, as most do. Again don't be offended, this is just my opinion.
I don't think the daughter is an issue. At least not yet as we have no confirmation of her identity. The problems I do have are solely with Chloe and Grace. If I already thought it was hard to make sense of the relationships with incest due to the age differences between Grace, MC and Chloe, without it feels like a complete mess. Again, to me personally. You are free to disagree.

So very much more than a year. Burnout is what I'd speculate is the biggest reason, but this kind of stuff has been going on as long as I've been a participant here. It has also created such a graveyard of potential greatness that never would be it could make you wretch. I'll say it again, these people would be so much better off having at least the whole story storyboarded, from beginning to end, before they start releasing pieces of the game. That way they have a roadmap to keep progress on track. All of this trying to build the story's progress on the fly has to be unnerving after a while. In the adult work I used to do I'd never try to tackle a project that way. Of course, we had nothing to release until we could hang a "the end" on the video...so there's that.
He stated he was going to release an update every 2 to 3 months and here we are 6 months later and no update damn all the best ones end up getting abandoned! just like Dual Family....
Don't know why people complain about it when they're getting the game for free. Just check in every now and then with no expectations of an update.
