Recommendations for getting my feet wet

Greetings to everyone reading.

I'm a writer by trade. I don't post often, or even frequently on this site as my profile might suggest. That said, it has slowly dawned on me that despite many downloads and there are many aspects of adult games that don't meet my own satisfaction, both as a writer and (perhaps) a pervert. I decided I would like correct his and pose a question to this community, dedicated as it is; is it more fruitful for me to search for a partner for my story(ies) and vision concept, or [attempt] to render and code it myself?

Currently I find myself with near infinite free time, but a near limitless amount of writing and samples to provide as necessary. Mainly I'm curious whether it's most efficacious to learn a skill — such as rendering or even drawing from scratch — or search for a partner to meet me in the middle.

I've realized, with ample sample size, that a lot of my writing tends to lean towards great arcs with adult themes woven as part of the main plot. As someone that enjoys V/K Novels with taboo themes I've slowly realized this might be an area where I could cross pollinate two salient aspects of my life.

TL;DR: Memes aside, should I write and look for a partner or seek to furnish a project that is entirely my own?

You could always go for a text based game if you have writing skills (and are willing to learn code), then hire sprite artists. Or rip real porn gifs, The success of games like Degrees of Lewdity & The Company show viability in this area.

well, you could try to follow the movie making approach:

- write your novel/book/anthology/saga/encyclopedia

- rewrite it as a script

- try to make a storyboard out of the script
(or ask someone to do it for you)

- choose the best way for you to switch from "concept" to "creation"

-what do I want? (text-only based, text + "realporn", RPG, RPGM, Renpy,Unity, "other less known or older or weirder medium")
-Can I do it alone?
(do I want to do it alone? do I "have a Guy"? Do I need to "find a Guy"?)
-How to finance it?
(I'm Bruce Wayne, financing is not an issue - I'm Bruce Banner and I need a new pair of pants please)

To Be Honest you answered your own question yourself => "I'm a writer by trade."
(so write your story 1st)
