Does anyone know if

works with DAZ? I would hate to spend 2 hrs downloading it and not be able to use it.

this is a direct link to it. I am just assuming it will work as any standard HDRI.

but usually backplates gives much better details and resolution
the HDRi map is only used for lighting

For sure it gives better details than HDRi maps gets even at 16K.
the key is to match brightness levels and rotation of the HDRi to the backplate.

the only issue with backdrops is that you are very limited to different angles.
you need to put the objects in an specific angle to match the backdrop.
with only HDRis you are more free to move around.
