reimplement a JSON file within a game

An acquaintance tries to modify certain things of the game "Action Taimanin" but ran into a problem when trying to modify something from a JSON file, in his words "I can easily extract the text and edit it, but I can’t add it back into the game"
I thought that maybe some of you could have an idea to help him, I am already grateful for your answers.

Is it a valid JSON file? Has it been saved in UTF-8 format? Did he try without and with the BOM (Byte order mark)?
I'd google "validate json file" and upload the file on any online tool.
