Daz Rendering settings that offer a good trade-off between quality and speed?

I am considering creating a visual novel as a hobby project and using Ren'Py and DAZ.

But since it's just a hobby project, and I probably wouldn't even try to create a Patreon site, I don't want to invest in a new PC or laptop.
I want to use my few years old laptop with 960m GPU.

Is there a rendering setting that will reduce the time and hardware requirements significantly, the result will not be superrealistic, it will look relatively simple, but still not ugly?

I understand most assets are made for Iray, so 3Dlight would limit the use of some assets, right?

Which Iray settings have the greatest impact on rendering complexity?

Lighting, textures and complex shader settings affects your speed and results in iray
960 has 2gb vram right? It could maybe work if you render in seperate layers and with really small scenes.

You need horsepower if you want quality but don't go and spend any money before you know the software.
There's 100s of guides online, like recreation showed you. Study them and play around :)
