FAQ
- Why does the program open slowly?
+ The program checks requirements upon opening, which is why it takes a while to start.
- I started the translation, but there hasn't been any progress for several minutes?
+ Try turning off the Proxy in Settings and translating without a proxy, as proxies can often be blocked, especially if free proxies are used.
Happy Localizing!
What is RenLocalizer?
RenLocalizer V2 is a powerful, open-source translation tool specifically designed for Ren'Py visual novel games. It automates the extraction and translation of game dialogues, menus, and UI elements, making game localization faster and easier than ever.
✨ Key Features
Multi-Endpoint Google Translator (v2.1.0)
- 4 Google mirror endpoints with intelligent rotation (`googleapis.com`, `google.com`, `google.com.tr`, `google.co.uk`)
- Parallel endpoint racing - multiple endpoints queried simultaneously, fastest response wins
- Automatic failover - failing endpoints are deprioritized, requests route to healthy mirrors
- Lingva fallback - when all Google endpoints fail, automatically uses free Lingva Translate
- ~2-3x faster batch translations compared to single-endpoint approach
Multiple Translation Engines
- Google Translate (Free, Web-based with multi-endpoint support)
- DeepL (API key required - highest quality translations)
- Yandex Translate (Free, Web-based)
- LibreTranslator (Self-hosted, open-source option)
Smart Parsing Engine
- Context-aware extraction of dialogues, menus, and screen text
- Automatic filtering of technical strings (shaders, variables, code blocks)
- Placeholder preservation (`{color}`, `[player_name]`, etc.)
- Support for multiline and triple-quoted strings
- Both `old/new` (official) and `simple` output formats
️ UnRen Integration
- Built-in UnRen downloader and launcher
- Automatic mode: One-click RPA extraction and RPYC decompilation
- Manual mode: Full access to advanced UnRen features
- Works with both modern (Ren'Py 7.4+/8.x) and legacy (6.x/7.0-7.3) games
User Experience
- Bilingual UI (English & Turkish with auto-detection)
- Professional themes (Dark & Eye-friendly)
- Tooltips on all settings - hover for detailed explanations
- Glossary editor - define preferred translations for recurring terms
- Proxy support with auto-rotation for rate limit avoidance
